Recognized by the Virginian-Pilot as "Best Restaurant Reviewed in 2012", the Caribbean Room Restaurant at Havana Nights features contemporary Caribbean cuisine in an upscale and intimate 38 seat dining room. Chef Kent Johnson’s creative use of local farm-to-table ingredients provide a unique dining experience. Selecting a wine is made easy by using our iPad “Personal Sommelier.” Reservation are recommended but walk-ins are always welcome.
In an adjacent room, our 36 seat jazz club is the home of live music every Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and is a welcoming spot for before and after dinner drinks. "We took my mother there for the special day, and even though the menu was preselected, it was amazing. The organic chicken, short ribs, and creme brulee were to die for. Our waiter was nice and down to earth. He sat and chatted with us and still did his job beyond satisfaction. I reserved a table for four people, but there were five of us, yet they were able to accommodate us. I appreciate Havana Nights for making this mothers day one to remember."

"I took my wife to Havana Nights for Mother's Day food was great no salt and pepper on the tables and I know why it wasn't needed. Three course meal for $30 per person can't beat it. Wait staff was superb felt like all the waiters were our waiters excellent attention to detail. After dinner for $10 a person went to the jazz parlor and watch a performance of a live a excellent jazz band. The bread pudding is to die for very good and I don't like bread pudding. All in all a must try and frequent."

"The menu was awesome , a restaurant that was up to date and tasted great. The waiters and host/hostesses were willing to work with you coming from one part of the restaurant to the jazz area which was fun.the only thing I would recommend is if you know your wanting to attend the experience at Havana nights then make reservations they can fill up quick."

"very good food, very good to excellent service. The only bad mark would be when we were ready to leave and after paying for our meal we waited for the waiter to return with our to go bag for a member of our party who could not finish all her meal. He stated he had it at the back stand ready for us when we were ready to leave. Well, we waited and waited for him to come back to us as we were ready to leave and had been for 10 mins or more until the member of the party had to go up to the waiter to retrieve it."

"This was a great experience in dining and Jazz. The food was delicious, hot, freshly prepared and presented in a timely and professional manner. The Jazz lounge was a bit small but quaint with excellent acoustics. My wife and I enjoyed the entire experience. We'll return again and again."

"I was looking for someplace small with good ambiance for our anniversary dinner. After reading reviews for ambiance and food, Havana Nights fit the bill quiet nicely. The food was very, very good and the Bread Pudding Dessert, made with Krispy Kreme Doughnuts is OUT OF THIS WORLD FABULOUS!
There was no Jazz act featured that night (4/16/13), so the place was a little emptier and quieter, which was perfect for an intimate anniversary dinner. Our waiter, Pierce, was on his game and was able to give a taste description for every menu item, the wine and drinks! The owner/manager (?) stopped by each table to check on the patrons, he too suggested the bread pudding. He even took the time to interrupt his reservations phone call to take a phot"

""I love the ambiance of this place - dark, small quiet and cozy – like a comfortable living room. There are two dining venues, we attended both. The dining only area is good for special occasions. The dining and jazz club area had great entertainment. I ate dinner in the first and had cocktails and dessert in the other while enjoying the Justin Cathcart Jazz Trio. The scallops, bread and butter were amazing and the chocolate bread pudding dessert delightful. The table was not sold on the rockfish, however thought the preparation with a different fish like Chilean Sea bass would be something great. to try. Everyone agreed all dishes needed more of a Cuban flavor. Service was not up to par at first, as the evening progressed it improved."

Cheese tray with olives, dates as an appetizer, then we enjoyed the skirt steak with roasted corn and the tenderloin with chimichurri sauce. "Havana Nights, the ambiance was perfect, the service was first class, the cuisine was stellar, the jazz band was fantastic and the prices were reasonable. If you go understand that for what you get you will pay, but every penny was worth it. I took my girlfriend for her birthday and we are and drank the best with no concern on cost. "This was our third visit to HN. As always, the food and atmosphere could not have been better. My wife had the filet special and I enjoyed the oyster stew. We started off our meal with the Caesar salad, which the kitchen thoughtfully divided in two and served on separate plates.
One recommendation: add the filet to the regular menu...my wife said it was one of the best steaks she had ever eaten.

The owner evidently takes a great deal of pride in HN (which is well deserved). He came by our table twice to check on things and to tell us about the jazz club next door.
We will be returning with friends this coming week, and look forward to introducing them to one of the best restaurants in Hampton Roads!"

"My first visit was on 2/10/13 and it was AMAZING! The atmosphere and food were great! We also decided to go to the Jazz show at 8pm with RaJazz and the show, the music was excellent and had us all moving in our seats, singing, clapping, etc! The night was outstanding and we will visit at least once a month! Great find, ambience, and night out."

"went for the first time as part of a weekend vacation for my girlfriend, she was blown away. high class, great service, great atmosphere, very intimate and romantic, excellent course timing, very well prepared and delicious entrees and dessert. We had the salmon with mango chutney special and the filet with a chocolate sauce reduction. Ridiculously tender and flavorful dish. Dessert was the bread pudding. A thing of beauty. The ice cream was so creamy and had a thick velvety texture Ive never seen anywhere else. the only thing I wouldn't give an A++ on was the duck empanada appetizer. But that's just my personal taste. My date rather enjoyed them. Overall extremely impressed and would go back for another special occasion."

"We enjoyed a great dinner via VaBeach Restaurant week. Both parties chose the salmon - cooked to perfection - over polenta w/asparagus. The mini tossed salad was too vinegary, and the creme brulee was creamy, though the glazing was overtorched. The lighted menus were a kick. Service was very quick, almost too quick, but we did not feel rushed to move on.
