"The ambience and the employees were the best part of the restaurant. This day I ordered a appetizer of shrimp and crab cakes, prime bone in rib eye with lobster tail and creamed spinach. The shrimp was the best part of the whole meal, it had nice textures and good flavor. The crab cakes were moist on the inside but very tough and hard on the outside. For $30 extra I did get the 6 ounce lobster tail and it was very tough and stringy. The prime bone in rib eye is orders was supposed to be cook med-rare and came out well done. Even with it well done it had no flavor and with my experience with top steak joints this was no prime steak, choice or select at best. The creamed spinach was just ok and seamed old."

"I came here for my parents wedding anniversary. I surprised them by having their friends waiting for us at the restaurant. When we arrived, I was surprised to find they have given us the private room for our dinner. It was lovely. The service was great. Our waiter was incredibly nice. Everyone LOVED their steaks. Although it is a steakhouse, the seabass was excellent. I was incredibly impressed with the way everyone went above and beyond to make my parents dinner very special."

"We enjoyed this restaurant...It was nice without being over the top like many steakhouses. We didn't have to wait forever for the food to come out, it was a quick place to eat yet didn't feel rushed. I appreicate a restaurant not making me sit for 30 mins+ after I order...Food was great, we had a lobster and steak, both came with sides- food was very good. We upgraded the included house salads to caesars and it was a good move- the caesar salad had good dressing and great crutons! The total bill for the lobster, baked potato, caesar salad, steak, mac and cheese dish, and another caesar salad was $98.00 plus tip. Not too bad- it is an upscale place so we expected inflated prices but again, just the right amount of fancy."

"Kelly English Steakhouse is a great place for dinner. The ambiance and service are terrific - the waiters so professional and helpful in choosing your meal. The wine choices are superb. And the dinner was excellent. We had one early bird dinner and the salmon was exquisite - melt in your mouth and flavorful. The steak dinner we had was also superb and the steak arrived at your table as you ordered it. But, most excellent, are the vegetables and the cheese dip for the bread. You simply can't find anything better than these. My kudos to the chef"

"This was a special Girls Night/Thank you/Early Birthday dinner I planned for my friend. We love to try different restaurants and love good food. The Crawfish Beignets were very good, already searching for a recipe to make at home. Her steak was tender and juicy. My lamb chops were cooked to perfection -- best lamb chops I've ever had. Of course every review has to have one small critique, the staff was a little on the somber side. Our waiter was very helpful in choosing wine and explaining ingredients in a dish but could have smiled. Overall, I will definitely go back and recommend to others."

"My husband, both sons, daughter in law and I came to Kelly English to celebrate my birthday. It was wonderful!! Everything about it was top notch, the atmosphere, food, service etc. My family talked all night about how great the food was. They said the filet was the best they had ever had. Service was a bit slow as it took almost 15 minutes to get our usual bread and cheese.
It was Good Friday so maybe they were understaffed.
Wedge salad was very good as was the seafood appetizer.
My entree of Lobster at 37 was very reasonalble and so tender.
I had it steamed. I got the sweet potato as my side. Very yummy.
My wife's Sea Bass was good. But she had no idea whatsoever what it was served on top of.
Grits maybe?
The slow service did not bother us at all really. But it took a very long time between courses and to get our bill.
Out waitress was very nice but stretched way too thin.
We will be back. Very good food as a whole.

"The service on the evening we were at Kelly English Steakhouse was poor. I ordered a drink from the waitress and about 10 minutes later she came around and asked me if I would like a drink. I told her I would like the one I had previously ordered. Visits from the waitress were infrequent. My wife had to ask a busboy for coffee. Another couple were seated at the table next to us. After waiting about 10 minutes and not being visited by the waitress, they got up and left."

"Kevin, our server was outstanding. The house salad dressing was very good. The pimento cheese spread for the hot rolls was great. The filet mignon were terrible. Definitely not worth $35 dollars each. I ordered mine medium, my wife ordered medium well, they were both well done (no pink whatsoever). They were dry and chewy. The "hand cut fries" were less than appetizing, they too were over cooked. I wondered why there were not many customers, now I know why. I probably will never go back to Kelly English Steakhouse. Especially with Charlie Gitto's across the hall."

"It was me and my wife's 1st wedding anniversary the next day, so I took advantage of the coupon for Kelly English steakhouse. Upon arriving for our reservation, we were warmly greeted by the staff and seated almost immediately. The ambiance was just perfect! It projected a family atmosphere while at the same time, a romantic hint with the candles on the tables!! The wait stafff was very attentive and pleasant. The food set the night off just right! Everything was cooked to perfection and we would definitely return to this fine estabishment. Also, I would like to note the ease of making the reservation online!"

"After reading all the reviews and the fact it was featured on Food Network and supposed to be one of the top ten places in St. Louis, we were VERY disappointed. Coffee was cold, service was slow (with the exception of the young man clearing the tables) and probably one of the worst steaks we had ever eaten, no flavor and very tough. I don't have an issue paying for a good meal, but I do expect it to be better than what I can fix at home and this was definitely not the case. We've had better food at truck stops. Will not be back and will not recommend to anyone."

"It was so cold in Kellys that my rolls were cold before I could finish it, Ask Waiter to see about turning the air down ,but he said it is always that cold even in summer. Everyone has coats on,those that didn't,has arms crossed to try and stay warm . Ceasers salad that I has was a joke, Had only about 2 bits of lettuce on it and was tough as leather. Waiter did not inform me what it was like. It was the weirdest salad I have ever had. Charlie Gitto ceaser salad was fantastic ,This one froms Kellys was awful.. Should be removed from the menu."

"Starter: tried the crab cakes/shrimp which we saw delivered to most tables; however, cakes were too crispy, nothing special, shrimp very tough. Salad: homemade ranch is delicious and I like bitter greens, not a typical iceberg/romaine. Good selection of wine by the glass, no bottle as I had fish and he had steak. Homemade pimento cheese is crazy good. Trout special, delicious. Spouse had filet, not the best, but ok, the bordelaise sauce was superb. The spinach side with a little spice was great.Bread pudding was over the top. This is in a casino, so well over half of the clientele had comp tickets. Not sure if we will return,but if we do we will ask for our server Kevin who was awesome."

"Disappointing experience for us. Very nice room and lots of hype about how great it was, but we did not think so. Decent but not great meat, Lobster tail was overcooked, sides were unimpressive. Great bread pudding for dessert. It is a casino restaurant but even in comparison to other casino steakhouse it feel pretty flat. Our meals were comped so we really can't complain but this casino has an excellent Italian restaurant and that is a much choice."
