Proprietor and Burlington resident Jamie Myers (The Big Oyster!) built & opened this popular restaurant in 1985 and remodeled in 1998 to become Jake’s Grill & Oyster House. As you explore our web site you’ll soon feel the comfortable & nautical ambience our guests have come to enjoy over the last 20 years. The restaurant features market fresh oysters from our two biggest suppliers
"My wife and I went to Jake's several weeks ago and returned this last time with the kids. A great meal! My son had the kids' steak - loved it! My daughter had the pasta with tomato sauce and she said it was really good. I had the 16oz rib eye - full of flavour and nicely cooked medium. My wife had tacos (as she did the last time) and they were wonderful. It was bisuer this time than the last, but the noise level wasnèt bad at all. Lots of stuff (e.g. model ships, etc.) for the kids to look at while waiting for their food to arrive. They have other tables close to the fireplace, etc. that are more ÈromanticÈ and suitable for a quiet dinner for two. Highly recommended; one of our favourite spots now."

"Good food however hostess was not accommodating but service was great. We had a reservation for 5pm. We were directed to an area but there was a large pole that seemed to be obstructing one table so we chose the otherseating area. We chose one of the two tables in that area. We ordered our drinks and were enjoying out evening. The hostess then approached us and said the table was reserved which we thought odd because we had a reservation too. We were asked to move to another table but they seemed to be all reserved and she suggested a table at the bar. We were finally offered a proper table but our anniversary dinner was not as enjoyable."

"Service was a bit slow at first, but overall very good. Good selection of menu items and several with a spicier flare - the seafood linguine was fantastic."

"Nice variety of appetizers and main courses, the PEI mussels are outstanding, both white and red. Noise level is not a problem here. Ambiance is so much quieter than most of the roadhouse chains!!! Service is very attentive and pleasant...more professional than most. Be sure to book a reservation for most nights and weekends as it is well patronized. No outrageous automatically added gratuity for our party of 6 people."

"We went for the fish fry.....the perch was over breaded and over fried.....I was totally unimpressed....my friend thought theirs to be okay- but I have had far better food quality there before. Considering this was a special, I was surprised...."

"Was surprised how busy it was for 7 pm on a Tuesday night. Waitress did her best to accommodate our party of 5, but service was a bit on the slow side. Enjoyed my dinner special - and the price was great."

"My wife and I went a few evenings ago for a quiet dinner for two. Made reservation for 6:30 on a week night. Seated immediately. Outstanding food - my wife had the fish tacos and raved about them. My steak was superb. Service was excellent. Seated next to a fireplace, nice wine list, and very pleasant atmosphere. All in all, a wonderful experience and we will definitely return."

The food is always excellent and the staff are well trained and typically make every dining experience enjoyable. Thanks to the management and all the staff for all your great efforts!"

"Great food as always. Had the lamb special with shrimp and wish they would serve the potato side all of the time, even in place of the regular sweet potato gratin."

"The food seemed to be a bit overpriced and the portions weren't really that great. The seafood chowder was really really good, probably the best I've ever had, make sure to order the bowl though, not the cup, for five bucks the cup was a rip off. Eleven dollars for 5 crab rangoon type things was kind of pricey too. The calamari duo was pretty good. The steak was perfectly cooked but I didn't care for the sweet potato gratin, it was too spicy."

"We had a crack in our glass but that could happen any where. Alaskan King Crab and Coconut Shrimp was really good. Our dinner guests had the fish and chips and they said it was really good."

"Love Jakes, although it was very busy at lunch time, our food was served very promptly and was delish, volume was very high so if you are going for a quiet chat don't do it in the lunch rush hour of 12 - 1:30"

"Had a great lunch! The restaurant was packed however they saved us a table right in front of the fireplace. Bacon Wrapped Scallops were amazing along with the Fish Tacos! I will definitely be back."
