"As with most steak houses, Strip House Midtown offers good service and drinks in a comfortable environment. The chopped salad is mediocre and I would not order it again. The steak was so-so: I didn't like the rub. The asparagus was good. Given its location, I would go again, but the restaurant is not at the top of my list."

"Loved the bone in filet and they have the best creamed spinach in the city. I have always been impressed with their steaks and look forward to dining here again. Del frisco's would be the only other steak house in the city that I find comparable."

"Had dinner at Strip House Midtown this past weekend and a few points:
Decor was very nice, service was very good and Lobster Bisque was excellent as was the Seafood Plateau. The steak, however, was exceptionally salty. So much so that they were almost rendered inedible due to the chefs heavy handed seasoning. I found this to be equally true with the Creamed Spinach side as well; overly salty and excessive truffle oil.
I would dine here again but will make a mental note to instruct my waiter to have the kitchen watch the salt."

"Good steaks, good lobster, great service. Wait staff is attentive but never rushes. Good location for theater, too. If you order their special chocolate cake, be sure there are at LEAST 4 of you to eat it. It's a whopper!"

"We booked Strip House Midtown advising them that we had a newborn baby in a stroller. Despite confirming our reservation requirements twice before the date (via telephone), when we arrived the matradee was surprised that we would need a little extra room at the table for our newborn who was asleep in the stroller. Reluctantly they complied with allowing us to have our son remain in the stroller while dining. My husband overheard the matradee caution all the front staff that they do not take reservations for babies who would be in a stroller not high chair. Very disappointing as upon confronting the matradee on our way out he denied his earlier comment. Please know they are not welcoming of children."

"Ordered the ribeye for 2, but unfortunately the steak wasn't cooked the way we requested it even though the waiter and I spoke extensively about it. The steak was seasoned well and had a nice char on the outside but the steak got cold quickly. Maybe Strip House should think about providing warm dishes or bringing the steak out on a sizzling plate. The side dishes were pretty good but I've had better. The creamed spinach was good but also got cold quickly. The waiter came by the table often but seemed like he was doing the bare minimum. Very cramped inside. Had to sit next to a couple that was making out during their entire dinner.
Strip House is a beautiful restaurant and is a safe bet to go to, but if I'm paying $100+ pp, I want better."

"We arrived at 5:45. The restaurant was empty. With a flourish , the Maitre D' made a point if selecting a fabulous table for us. We were then seated upstairs, in Siberia. We were greeted by a gum snapping apathetic waiter. The food was average. The Bibb salad good, the steak crust over salty, the portions good. However, given the prices, there are so many steakhouses in NY which have better service, food and ambiance. I do not get the great reviews!"

"From arrival it was clear that we had made a great choice! We were swiftly taken to our booth which was comfortable and spacious. The restaurant is beautiful; chandeliers, cushioned red walls with burlesque pics on the wall. Very classy and chic. Really lovely ambience. Fantastic service, one of the waiters even offered to take a pic of us both. Food was amazing with great cuts of steak, cooked beautifully, chargrilled on outside but still soft and succulent. Only downside was the food was a tad on the salty side. Tips: passionfruit cosmopolitans and the 24 layer chocolate cake are a MUST!! Overall this was without a doubt the best dining experience we have ever had, we will most certainly be back on our return to NYC xx"

"We all ordered different steaks which were all very good. We were brought over a small cup of soup on the house, which was fabulous. The salad and desserts were nice as well. Enjoyed the Sinsky wine. Nice ambiance. Just a fun place with very nice food."

"This was our first visit. We are trying new (to us) restaurants. We were going to the theatre and it was close. Making the reservation was easy and we were impressed they called to confirmed. The day of our visit we were running late for our reservation. We called the restaurant and they were very accommodating and told us "no problem".
We arrived and were promptly seated in a spacious booth. We ordered shrimp cocktail, Caesar salad, Filet Mignon, rib eye, Strip House potatoes, asparagus and sautéed mushrooms. EVERYTHING was great. I have Filet Mignon frequently and this was the best ever. The Strip House potatoes were also excellent - and very different. And the cheesecake was great ! Great, but you do pay for it."

"The food is good, however, the service was not good. First, the wine list very weak and the staff are not helpful trying to point you to the most expensive bottle of wine. The Maître D tried to pass himself off as the Wine Sommelier (they don’t have one). Anyway, once we finally found an 07 we liked, they did not have it and instead of telling us they did not have it, they tried to push us the 08 vintage which is NOT GOOD. Lastly, we ordered 3 side dishes and only 2 showed up. They were not apologetic. In fairness, the Steak was excellent and the sides that did show up were also good. I go to many steak houses in NYC and I can tell you that the Strip House will not be on my recommended list."

"Had the kosher ribeye. It was perfect. The service was exceptional. None of the normal New York steakhouse attitude you find at some of the older steakhouses. This is my new favorite steak in midtown. You must try the bacon app. Words don't do it justice. Truffled cream spinach!!!!! Goose fat potatoes!!! Not a place for watching your calories but worth the extra treadmill time"

"Let me start off with the positives...the service was great. Waiter and all front of the house staff were on top of their game. However, it's sad when the best part of your meal is the salad when you are at a steakhouse. We shared the porterhouse for 2. The crust was inedible because it was so salty. We got two sides, the Strip House potatoes and the creamed corn with pancetta. The potatoes were loaded with shallots and salt. You couldn't taste the cheese or the potato. The creamed corn was ok. It got to a point where we couldn't even taste the food because our mouths were taken over by salt. We decided to skip dessert although I do recall the chocolate cake being delicious...can't ruin that with salt right?"

"We loved the Strip House on 12th St, so we thought we'd try this new location. One thing I notice that was different from the original was the female waiters. We had one and she was just fantastic. You want good food and excellent service, this is your place. I had crab cakes and caesar salad that was wonderful. My b/f had the filet mignon and it was melt in your mouth good. We ordered a banana dessert that was wonderful. But the best part was the manager made it a point to come over to our table and check on us, then sent a nice slice of cheesecake. It was the best cheesecake I have had in NYC. It's a bit expensive, but what isn't! Side dishes are generous (try the duck fat potatoes) and yummy. I loved the creamed corn. We will be back!"

"The place has great steaks. I had a bone-in filet that was on the specials. Probably one of the best steaks I had. Great cut of meat, tender, and with a nice char on the outside and perfect cook on the inside. Service was good - but not exceptional. A little more attention from the staff would have made it a perfect meal. Restaurant is comfortable decorated, so its size doesn't feel overbearing."

"Had the best steak ever, and I'm a steak lover! Went with a large group and we tried almost all the sides - hard to decide which one was best! only thing i didn't absolutely love was the salad, but really does that even matter with a steak like that? also tried several desserts - brownie sundae (excellent!) and cheesecake were my favs"

"Have been to Striphouse several times , even ate there on Thanksgiving. Staff always gives excellent suggestions and the food is always delicious. Their meat selection definitely lives up to expectations! They also have great signature drinks and cocktails (their Manhattan is the best I've ever had). Eye-catching decor (love the red vinyl upholstered walls!) This will be one of my regular haunts when I am in the city."

"Went there with a group of 9 people to celebrate a special birthday. We had a lot of special requests for seating, surprises, cake and they got it all done with a smile and time to spare before our broadway show. Food was great and interior of restaurant was beautiful and modern with a sexy old world flare. Will definitely be coming back for another occasion or a just because night out."

"Needed a place for a business lunch. Loved the antique decor and the service was very good. The lunch menu had a big selection. I opted for the chopped salad which was great and the lobster roll. It seemed a bit small but maybe that was because it came cut into two. While it wasn't the best loster roll I've ever had, it was definitely one of the better ones around town."

"The first time at the uptown branch. Also the first time since the BR Guest group took over. Definitely a major improvement over previous visits downtown. Much larger menu and superb porterhouse. Right up there with Lugers and the best in the city. Amazing selection of top wines by the glass and as always that great BR Guest service. A treat for the carnivores in midtown."

"I went to Strip House (Midtown) for the first time to celebrate a birthday and everything from start to finish was perfect. The staff were all very attentive, friendly, and dispensed great advice regarding the menu. The manager even came over several times to check-in to see how everything was. The food was absolutely delicious-- every dish was done to perfection, especially the porterhouse steak for two. We ordered the special spicy tuna tartar, the special soft shell crab, and the signature slab bacon dish to start. I ordered the special boneless dry rub rib-eye and the porterhouse for two for the table. We concluded with the creme brulee and was offered a classic NY cheesecake complimentary of the restaurant in honor of the birthday"

"Perfectly cooked steak. Awesome side orders. House steak sauce was very good.
However, for New York, there are too many other steakhouses where I am not shoe-horned into a dining hall small space where I hear neighbor conversations more easily than I can hear those from my own table.
For the price, I recommend trying one of the other locales first."

"For several years now our group of 4 carnivores have been meeting for "steak night" every few months. We've tried all the big names, the local legends, the corporate chains etc. We've been to the original Strip House downtown, which was pretty good. On a whim we decided to try the Midtown location. Service was first rate! All steaks were spot on perfect (a rarity for most steakhouses). The bacon appetizer was awesome! Caesar salad & tomato salad were very good. Creamed spinach and French fries were just the right accompaniment. All staff from the host/hostess to the bartenders, to the wait staff were very pleasant. We went in not expecting much, but we ended up having one of our best steakhouse experiences yet, and that's saying something!"

"The service was really disappointing in the beginning. We sat down and were instantly refreshed with water and a bread basket, but the waitress did not come over for some time. I really wanted a drink and we had completely finished a serving a bread and one refill of water before she came over to our table to greet us and bring menus. Instead, she went to a 4-top that was seated after us. I must say, that once she punched in our drinks and food everything went swimmingly. The martinis were delicious as was the wine. The Chilean sea bass was so tasty and an impressive portion. The green hue of the jalapeno potatoes was a little disconcerting, but it tasted great. The Strip House chocolate cake is delectable and shouldn't be passed up."

"I was treated with excellent food and wine. Tuna tartare was really good and the quality of the NY Strip steak was also excellent. I was even treated with a desert on the house as it was my first time at the restaurant - Thank you. My waiter was really good and did a great job on helping me with my choice of wine. Highly recommendable place to go - and I clearly preferred this over my visit to Smith & Wollensky the day before."

"This is a very nice restaurant. It has a great interior and the service could not have been better. The littlenecks clams were as good as it gets. The problems was that we had the chateaubriand for an entree and it was a great piece of meat but the rub or whatever they used on it was extremely salty as was the cauliflower side. This has a chance to be a great NYC steak restaurant but hold the salt."
