"We had our Wino Club brunch (approx 12 people) at Spill the wine on Sunday morning at 10am. We sampled all of the small plates and a couple of the large plates. All were amazing and perfect to share amongst a large group. I really enjoyed the decor of the new location!"

"I checked in at the hostess desk, and told her my name and said I had a reservation. The hostess said they were running behind, and that our table would be ready in about 10 minutes, as someone was closing out their tab. She said we (2 of us) could wait at the bar. We said we would, and proceeded to wait at the bar for at least 30 minutes with no follow up on our table. I then went to ask the hostess if our table was ready yet, and she claimed she didn't know we were waiting for a table. She said she would "see what she could do." Obviously she never checked us in, and then forgot about us. Since there was seating at the bar, we decided to just stay there. Carissa the bartender did a great job getting us our dinner at the bar."

"When we have girls night out we love to sit and visit for hours and this was the perfect place to do it! We were there for 4 hours and we each took a turn ordering from the small plates and enjoyed the family style (or tapas) menu. The waiter gave a wonderful wine recommendation and food recommendations. The wait staff were nonintrusive but right at hand when we wanted to order another dish. The food was amazing and the desserts even more so. Can't wait to go back!"

"We had a gift certificate and they had moved but we found it. We parked on the street but I believe they have some parking. We got there early and there was a happy hour so the wine was very reasonably priced. The waitress was great- personality wise and service and recommendation wise. The menu is small and larger bites so you would want to order a side or two. We had the roast bets with feta and pecans . We would go there again."

"I base my * rateing on their former location. This week we made 7:00 PM Wednesday reservation for new location. We were really looking forward to our visit. Parking was difficult ( lot is still being paved) so I dropped off my wife and friend and looked for parking for about 10 minutes. When I entered resturant my wife and friend were waiting at the door. I thought perhaps there was a problem with our rez but that was not the case. The noise level was so extremely high they wanted to leave. I walked in to check it myself and was blasted by the high noise level. We can deal with noisey restaurants but this is the worst we have ever experienced. Told the hostess we were canceling and she was very apoligitic. Hope a solution is found to fix."

"Nice spot for a weeknight gathering with friends. Half-price bottles, with a small-plates approach just right for a light dinner. A little heavier than tapas (and somewhat pricey given the small-plate size), but a good opportunity to be adventurous with flavors and options.
Would, however, like to see a side-salad option. They feel light on crispy greens."

"The food and wine were great. The seating needs a little attention though. The chairs are very small and uncomfortable. I am not a big person (6' and 170 lbs) and I barely fit on the chair."

"We went to Spill the Wine for the second time since they've moved from their original Downtown Washington Ave. location to their Uptown Bryant/Lake location for dinner on a Wednesday night. The restaurant is a welcomed addition to the Lynlake neighborhood. The interior and layout really works and is extremely attractive. Chef Craig Johnson is a great chef with experience and local roots. The truffle cheese curds were a nice starter. The pork belly burger was amazing and cooked perfectly with a nice bun to complement the salty and savory flavors. Really happy to have this restaurant on our regular rotation now!"

"The restaurant is a good addition to the neighborhood. The food is good but not compelling for me. We were a group of four and shared a number of plates. Unfortunately the small-plate format required the server to visit our table so many times that it was to the point of disruptive to our conversation. She did a great job, don't get me wrong; she was very helpful and knowledgeable, in fact more than average she seemed to know her business."

"Ambience is open and airy. The crab BLT sandwich is worth going back for, but the cobb salad had too many "large chunks" of blue cheese and other additives and the egg was under cooked and gooey. The lamb/pasta dish I had was flavorful and great. The BBQ pork sandwich looked good from afar at the table next to us. Maybe try that next time. The tres leche cake was wonderful, however this was after being told our first choice (flourless chocolate cake) was "out"."

"Afte r having been to the original STW, it was fun to see the new place in Downtown. Good space and excellent attentive servers made the experience enjoyable. The wine list is good and made even better by Monday special pricing. Definitely worth checking out. Liked the small plates concept, though the portions of various items varied. Will absolutely go back for more."

"Was a disappointment. Limited selection of over-priced, small portions (even for the regular plate items) of overly complicated breakfast items. Our dishes were either heaily salted or bland. For instance the $3 toast and jam small dish was a serving of thick white grilled Texas toast and a vinegary apple butter spread passing as jam. I was picturing heavy grain bread with berry or orange jam. It was the same bread used for the rarebit breakfast which was light on both egg and cheese. Scrambled eggs were not blended before being scrambled and were dry as was the skillet frittata. I could not finish the skillet due to the salt. No kids menu offered on Mother's Day when children were obviously in tow."

"Came here for Mother's Day with my family after hearing the name a couple times while at the U. A very nice, open space that is modern with barn wood along the walls. Great lights. Meals are meant to be shared, so my family of four ordered two small plates and a large (we weren't overly hungry), but that was turned out to be just the right amount of food. The crab BLT was the most memorable. The waiter made a good pitch for their popular cauliflower dish, which was fine, but I think I wanted to please my mom that I'm still eating my vegetables more than anything.
There was a child's birthday dinner being celebrated when we were there which accounts for the "moderate" noise level. But my guess is that it is normally a relaxed quiet."

"My sister and I brought our Mom to Spill the Wine for Mother's Day brunch. Their unique collection of small and large plate items were perfect for our differing tastes. I really liked their former location on Washington Avenue, but their new location in the Lynn-Lake area is more spacious and vibrant. Keep up the good work!"

"I liked this place and an very glad to see it at Lake and Lyndale. Lots of dishes you think are familiar with something exotic to confound your expectations. The Crab BLT was good in theory but the crab a little too stringy, didn't want to stay on the sandwich. Delicious, though. The pork belly burger was terrific. The Cobb salad a bit of a moist mess but the prawns were perfect. Vanilla pot au creme simply Elysian. $100.00 for four even though we stayed shy of the large entrees. Great, friendly and efficient waitstaff. Will definitely try it again."

"Food was better than when I was last at the location on Washington, but needed seasoning (good old salt and pepper). We had a nice time though waitress did not stop back as often as necessary to check in so we could order additional small plates, etc. We were asked, politely, if we were going to leave by the manager. We had been there 2.5 hrs, and they needed the table for a reservation, but we were not offered another table. My group had never experienced this before. I emailed the restaurant about the experience, and they quickly responded that isn't their "policy" and should have at least offered another location. I may give it another try but the interruption made for a very awkward end."

We enjoyed every single dish and the entire evening was enjoyable. I would recomment it to anyone if you like tapas style food and good wine."

"We really loved the decor The food was fine but Over salted Our service was horrible Took 10 mins for cocktails to arrive each time They came out one at a time. Then Food for entree came out one at a time At least 5 minutes between the 4 of us receiving Each of our entrees Made it very awkward for all of us No one offered us coffee or dessert We had to seek a server out to help us Coffee took 10 minutes to get. Food was fine but there were no service standards, People expect good service especially when paying For good food and drink. It is a good looking place, but the lack of service Was a real turn off for our experience"

"The Uptown location is a vast upgrade to the Washington Avenue version I visited several years ago. The food was very good and I found the wines enjoyable and well curated. The tapas-inspired menu is a welcome addition to the Lyn-Lake / Uptown scene. Don't miss the Sopes (we ordered them twice)."

"Several "small plates" were great but a couple items were weak. French fries were a limp mess. Desserts - not so good. The wine list is good but for a dining spot called Spill the Wine not very adventurous. Light out of the kitchen has to get corrected - was told in process. Until then get a table away from the kitchen. Just open and working out a few issues. Fun atmosphere and very good service."

"Nice new location. Lots of hard surfaces so the noice was a little too much for meaningful conversation. Food was really good and better than the old location. They are struggling with service such as meeting new guests that arrive at the table to ensure there are enough menus, glasses, settings etc. Did not do well on pouring the wine and getting clean plates and utensils. Did well on timing of food and presentation and freshness/flavors. We had a table of 6."

"Great space. Go for happy hour. Not many vegan, gluten free or vegetarian options. Gnocchi was fabulous, however the portion size was almost insulting, even for a 'small plate'. The baised pork was also good. I'll have to give it another shot, I wasn't impressed."
