"This was our 2nd time here and again the food was creative and delicious. The waitress suggested I put the scallop special with a salad and I really enjoyed the combo. The menu is huge which seems like the food wouldn't live up to all the choices but it does and there a lots of interesting and different selections. For the size of the dinners the prices are excellent. There is something for everyone on the menu. 4.5 on the food and the loudness is really the only negative. Bad acoutics."

"The food was very good and the waitress and staff very attentive. The only problem, but it was significant, was the noise level. We ate indoors but, in retrospect, dining outside would probably have been better -- it was a nice warm evening. The noise level inside was terrible making it hard to hear each other and hard to hear/understand the staff. This was to the point that requests were misunderstood or had to be repeated in a louder voice. Even as the restaurant emptied out the noise level from the few remaining tables was problematic. Carpeting, wall fabrics or other changes would be VERY welcomed."

"A friend and I ordered an appetizer and a salad to share and individual entrees. The appetizer (frites) came together with the salad, instead of one then the other. While we were still working on these, the entrees came out! I sent my entree back to be kept warm.
The food was fair, nothing outstanding. Regarding my noise rating, we ate outside.
Since we have few restaurants in the area, I'll probably give them another try."

"This location has housed a few different restaurants over the past few years. This was my first visit to Wence's. I was surprised at the noise level - it was difficult to hear my companion at times.
The service was slow. The food was tasty, but not very hot when it came out of the kitchen. This is an easy choice if you want a leisurely meal at a local restaurant. Perhaps sitting outside would be quieter."

"Food was fantastic! I had a Caesar salad and the jambalaya and my companion had the chicken scalopini. Both were absolutely wonderful.
Wine list needs a little work. Selection wasn't that great. Ordered a bottle of chardonnay and the server/bar tender just poured two glasses without having either one of us check to see if it was any good. Also, wine bottle was not put in a wine bucket or cooler even though it was a chardonnay which is served chilled.
Will definitely return since there were a few other items I wanted to try."

"We had a reservation for 14. We were celebrating my son's christening. Not knowing the restaurant but purely based on reviews, we chose Wence's Restaurant. I am glad we did. The food was amazingly delicious. The service was spot on. We had 2 infants and 2 toddlers and they catered to them just as well as to us. We even got to see the chef who brought out the final dish for our guest (my husband). We were very pleased with the entire experience as was our entire party (out of towners included). We will certainly venture back here for a date night to check out the scene. Thank you for giving us a wonderful experience. See you soon!"

"This is our second time at Wence's. We again brought some friends.
Overall, everyone's food was very good. The first time we were here we ordered crab cakes to share as an appetizer--they were great! Unfortunately, this time around, they were
luke warm and didn't taste quite as fresh.
Also, this time around, the service was lacking as well. We brought wine and although our wait person filled our glasses after opening the first bottle, we were left
to refill our own wine glasses. Even though this is a casual restaurant, the wait staff
should be trained by either the manager or owners in reference to filling wine glasses, etc."

"Food was excellent! We had the grilled artichoke and crab cakes as appetizers, and the portions were so generous we should have shared one. Entrees (salmon and halibut) were equally delicious (and generous). I was somewhat disappointed with the wine list, but perhaps they will be able to expand it when they have been open a little longer. As other reviewers have noted, the space is very noisy. I look forward to a return visit!"

the food was great! One little glitch, they somehow missed my husband's order for the
pasta with gorgonzola. Our server informed my husband when the rest of us received our
food and said they were preparing it as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, the pasta
turned out quite al dente-we did not mention it!
Quite surprised and pleased when the check arrived and we were not charged for the pasta!
That is the sign of a restaurant ready to please their customers! Bravo!

"Went there for the first time on Valentine's Day. A very wide-ranging menu. Started out with crab cakes. My wife is very picky about crab cakes and tries them often. These were exceptional in taste, texture and even the salad accompaniment was very tasty. We both had the chicken scaloppini and it was great. While the chicken was very good, the side of scalloped potatoes and an unusual vegetable combination brought the whole meal together. Shared a desert. A nice selection of wine and beer, including several drafts. Our waitress was wonderful considering it was a very full house. She was always there when needed but not hovering. WIll definitely be back. This is a welcome replacement for the Fig Tree, which originally occupied the site."

"A server took our drink order and appetizer order when we arrived. He disappeared and after 25 minutes, I had to ask for someone to take our dinner order. After our appetizer arrived, about 30 min into the meal, the server came and took our dinner order. Our entrees arrived 35 minutes later. We were now getting our entrees over an hour after arriving at the restaurant. When the food did arrive, it was very good. Cooked well and tasty. Everyone enjoyed the food. But based on all the reviews I've read, and my experience, their service is lacking."

"I had the artichoke chicken and it was delicious. It had a whole wood roasted artichoke cut up perfectly around the chicken. The sauce was excellent; just the right thickness and great flavor. It was probably the best artichoke in a dish I have had plus little ones; big portion too. My husband had the Paella and it was also yummy; lots of seafood and not too much rice; and the rice was moist. Paella isn't a spicy dish even in Spain but it is often dry and this was not. The caprese was good but I like the tomatoes and cheese at room temperate not cold. Great prices too and the is the first restaurant in a long time that after my first time I will go back again. I do think the atmosphere is only ok but you can't eat decor."

"I would have given a higher mark on the food had our plates been served hotter. My dish was warm (not hot) and my wife's dish was even colder. The flavors were simply amazing, and the server was awesome! My wife and I do plan to go back some time, because it was that good; however, I will not order the mojito from the bar again."
