Louie’s is obsessed with really, really good grapes, creative gourmet comfort food, and a funky, fun atmosphere to share them. We search all over the world to find you great wines. Many wines come from our relationships with smaller undiscovered vineyards, which offer a great value to our guests.
Wine is supposed to be Fun! We pour BIG and will open any bottle for our guests to try by the glass. When you taste a new varietal at Louie’s, let us know how it changed your concept of what wine is supposed to be.
Our gourmet comfort food is made fresh, using eco-friendly and local ingredients. As for the fun, we instigate it, but count on you to see it to fruition (literally through the fruit!). "We met some friends there with the intention of having dinner. However, the temperature was way too hot to dine in comfort. We asked several times that they turn on the air but we were sort of just brushed off. It might have been tolerable if we had been in shorts and flip flops but we were in dress clothes. We each had a glass of wine and shared the oyster and the deviled eggs appetizer. They were very good. We then decided to go to the Plaza and dine some place with air conditioning so that we could fully enjoy the experience."

"The food and wine were excellent as they were in our first time here. Our server was very knowledgable of both the food and the wine. This noise level is a bit loud and the tables a bit tight together for our more "mature" ears which can limit easy conversation, but the food and drink will keep us coming back!"

"This was the 2nd time I've dined here and the 2nd time I was less than impressed with the food. Not a ton of flavor or excitement in the food. I've heard that from just about everyone I know that's eaten there.
The music seemed really out of place too. Some singer/songwriter, then suddenly hip hop. I think Thrift Shop by Macklemore played. Just random music that didn't fit the ambiance.
I made a reservation and then they sat me at this super awkward table. The guests around us even mentioned how awkward the table was and we all joked about the weird dining situation. We ended up moving tables when one opened up.
Overall I give 2 out of 5. I can't imagine why I'd ever go back. There are much better values around town"

"I really loved Louie's the first time I came, but this time, I wasn't thrilled. The food was just OK both times, but as their name suggests I really think they're more about the wine. There was a big difference in the ambiance the first time I came and the second, and I think it's because they seated us at a high top near the bar. I liked it better the first time when I sat at the lower table, it felt cozier and not so much like we were dining with our neighbors to the immediate left and the bartender to the right. I would say if you like wine and know something about it, this is the place to go, but don't go for the food!"

"simply put an outstanding enviroment.i met my little brother for the first time at louies. it was super busy but even with the packed house we were able to visit without yelling. the menu is different then most which makes louies a fun and neat place to explore a new and exciting experience. it's 5 hours drive for us but worth the drive and we will be back! oh i also got a tshirt!!!!"

"Super busy on this Saturday night - reservations were a must, can't imagine trying to get a table without one! Friend had a Spanish wine (yum) and I had the chocolate wine (double yum!) that were on special; there's a great selection of wines by the glass and they will open any bottle with a 2 glass purchase. Our party ordered the deviled eggs, mussels with fries, chicken entree, and the chocolate cake for dessert - everything was delicious and with great service and ambience - could not have asked for a better dining experience!!
Louie's hasn't been open for very long, but they have already carved a niche in this area with great local support, and I suspect it will become a really popular spot within KC."

"Had been waiting for weeks to try this restaurant out. I love Mac & Cheese and I saw that they had several on the menu. I had been in before for drinks with friends, but had not sat down and had a meal. In truth, the food we got was about average, I still think the best Mac & Cheese is at BRGR. Don't get me wrong, the food was very good, I may have just been expecting so much, that anything would have been a disappointment. Service on the other hand was extraordinary, very fun, friendly and helpful bunch. Wine is absolutely amazing, had several different Reds, and all were wonderful. Love the location, I live in Waldo! Atmosphere and decor are great, very cool spot to hang with friends. The appetizers we had were fantastic."

Loui's has a policy where if you agree to at least 2 glasses of wine then they will open any bottle. Then they display all of their open bottles on the chalk board behind the bar. It allows you to try some pretty cool wines you maybe would be able to get if you didn't want a whole bottle.
The energy is very energetic but not too loud to have a conversation. We had a blast and will DEFINITELY be back again."
