"We have enjoyed Blu for a couple years now, mainly due to the fact that it is operated by the culinary school at Allen High School. We have felt that the kids do an excellent job, both in preparation and service.
However, the acoutics are terrible and spending the time with a group is unbearably noisy, as experienced on May 8.
Generally, my husband and I have an early lunch at mid-week and consider our time as well spent."

"An awesome program by the Allen High school provides high school students hands on experience on culinary arts and fine dining. The food is great and reasonably priced. Be forgiving when the kitchen gets backed up and your waiter gets confused :) sometimes you would forget that the food is prepared by high school students !"

"Before eating at Blu, I had never heard of gnocchi or spaetzle. It is a great place to dine for a unique eating experience and it is affordable. The students are proud of their restaurant and their pride shows in the food and in the service. Love Blu!"

"Blu is a gem. It is wonderful how the kids are in charge of the facility. The food was wonderful. The staff was great, you never know you everything is run by high school kids. If you want a great place to eat and a wonderful price, this is the place for you. You will not be disappointed."

"This was my first visit to the student run restaurant, and it was a treat!!
The food was delicious . I had the flat iron steak witj fries. The steak was very tender. The fries were good, and the spinach salad was good, as well.
The student waitress was very attentive. The teacher answered some questions I had about the program. She was very excited about the program and her students . I will definantly come here again! I'm just sorry it isn't open everyday!"

"I attended one of the top colleges for Hotel and Restaurant Management. We had a professional kitchen and dining room, but Blu blows it away. Allen has received a lot of criticism for our football stadium, but part of the same bond was to build the performing arts center, which is where Blu is located."

"We enjoyed our dinner at Blu. Service was careful and courteous from the time we entered. The servers were aware that we were waiting on another couple to join us, but served our beverage to enjoy while we waited. The meal was excellent; service superb and the atmosphere is always pleasant. Thank your for offering a dinner opportunity."

"This is operated by the students at Allen High School, so the ambiance and decorations were a pleasant surprise! The plating was wonderful and the food was very tasty. "As always a great place to go in Allen. Food was very good. Chicken tacos were delicious. Nice added touch with the heart shaped cookies for Valentines day and the roses for each lady dining. Servers were friendly and knowledgeable. Will be back soon!"

"I placed a comment on my reservation asking whether there were any meatless items on the menu but no one responded so we decided to go anyways. We were dissatisfied with the food. I understand it's the school's culinary program but was disappointed in the menu selections and the food. The only meatless items on the menu was a spinach salad which consisted basically of spinach with green lettuce and a vegetable stir fry. There are so many other meatless options such as pasta or fish which would have been much more satisfying than just vegetables. We asked about the frequency of changes to the menu and were told this will likely remain. That the case, we will not return."

"Such a treasure! Blu is fast becoming THE spot to meet and greet friends, customers and family. It is still a classroom environment of learnig from mistakes, but one can only enjoy being a part of a skill development, personal enrichment opportunity.
The atmosphere sets a bar for expectation; the waiters work hard to continue the high level; the food seals the deal.
