Founded 70 years ago, we are known for taking authentic Italian cuisine to new heights. Chef Armondo uses only the freshest of ingredients as he carries on tried and true family recipes augmented by his innovative daily specials. "Restaurant was crowded. Slight wait for service but not bad. Waitress was very busy but did a good job. Everyone was very polite and someone arrived at the end of our meal to ask if we were happy with everything. Appetizers and entrees were wonderful. Will absolutely go back!"

"Six of us went this past Saturday night for dinner since we were in town for my daughter's graduation from Union College. Mainly we went because it was one of the few places I found that would take a reservation but we were very pleasantly surprised. We were seated promptly, there was a large selection of specials and regular menu items to please all tastes, our server was friendly and efficient and the noise level was low enough that my mom was able to hear everyone at the table."

"If you live in Schenectady or the surrounding area, you should know about Cornell's, and if you don't , now you do and you must get there! It's a local classic, for many many reasons. Make the trip down there, order a plate and find out one of them!"

"We were looking forward to dining here after reading/hearing so many good things about Cornell's.
The food was good albeit a little small on the portions. Chicken Marsala was overly sweet and veal saltimbocca had great flavor and served over greens (as described in the menu) that were entirely mush.
The red sauce on the sides of pasta was thin but the real problem with it was that it had NO flavor.
Service was fine and the hostess and perhaps the owner were very attentive and concerned with customers.
The value was not there - over $60 +tip for two entrees, one class of wine and an iced tea. BTW the iced tea refill was charged for - have never seen that before.
I don't think we will be back."

"Dinner w/wife, wife's parents & our 7 y/o daughter was sublime. Started w/Perreca's Italian bread in olive oil & a carafe of unassuming merlot. Insalata di Pomodoro appetizer was mouth-watering, even without the baby 'bellas the chef forgot & had the server bring out later. Blessing in disguise, as grandpa hates mushrooms. The Shrimps Scampi, Oreganato & Verdi, & the Boiled Haddock were all perfect, and portion sizes were appropriate (not so large that dessert was out of the question & not so small as to leave us hungry). All desserts were scrumptious, & my wife savored her Irish Kiss dessert coffee. Ambiance is low-key & quiet, enabling pleasant conversation. Bill was $240 incl. 20% tip. At Cornell's, you get what you pay for. :-)"

"We return to Cornell's often. We love the food. This visit was a bit frustrating due to the wine list being in the state of change. I ordered a bottle of one of my favorites a Spanish Albarino only to have the staff person come back and tell me they no longer carried it. There was nothing on the wine list available that was a match. I settled for a wine by the glass but it was disappointing at best. They did substitue a red which was good but not really what I was looking for. This is a minor complaint, given the wonderful quality of the meal, but I'm hoping the issue will be addressed."

"I've been to Cornell's a dozen or more times and i have enjoyed it every time. The last experience wasn't the greatest, we got stuck in the back corner of the place and had an obnoxious waiter. Told me he would give us free dessert for the long wait and ended up charging us for the dessert. Other than this experience i have had good dinners here and would still go back, but if Ryan is my waiter i will request a new table."

"My family and I have dined at Cornell's many times and have never experienced such poor service. We were seated at 3:30 but did not receive any drinks or bread until 4:14. My son actually had to ask for the bread. After the meal we were not asked if we would like to see the desert menu. The waitress asked if we wanted our leftovers wrapped and that was it. She did not mention if anyone would like to see the dessert menu. I had to ask her if we could have coffee and dessert. Toward the end of the meal my family and I got the feeling we were being rushed. I very rarely complain, but thought this was worth writing a review. The food was very good, but the service was extremely poor."

"Tuesday eve- wasn't overly busy which was nice, however was dining with my Mom (2 people) they seated us in the bar area which was noisy for us(could've given us a choice). Things that were overlooked: we weren't given the specials menu when seated, and only one napkin on table. The wait staff quickly corrected those things when we asked about them. Noticed staff using down time to polish glassware, etc... which was nice to see. All friendly staff."

"Everything was superb. I made a last minute request to sit in a booth in the bar area and, sure enough, we arrived and they had a booth for us. The hostess, Joanne, greeted us when we arrived and sat us promptly. The server was attentive, smart and funny and she made excellent recommendations. We were there for over two hours and we never felt rushed. Every drink, appetizer, entree and dessert was superb. Thank you for making our night out with our friends memorable and enjoyable. I even went home with yummy leftovers that I enjoyed over the weekend."

"The service was excellent. Our waiter was very attentive. Overall, most of the members of our group were very satisfied with their food. The menu was extensive with many choices that I would like to return to try. Desserts were decadent."

"went during restaurant week- food was amazing!! We had a big group and everyone was happy- they only thing was that the portions were extremely small. I get that it was the pre fixed priced but it was noticably tiny- however it tasted phenomenal and the service was very good!"

"We had never been here before but decided to try it for restaurant week. It was excellent. We were seated in the bar area at a window table which was nice because there was a lively crowd but not so loud that we could not hear each other. Our server, Ryan, was very good - the dishes came out at just the right pace and our glasses were never empty. Food was outstanding. Everything was fresh; the pasta dishes were perfect and even the soup left us wanting more. Dessert was melt in your mouth peanut butter pie and was big enough to share which was a good thing cause we were so full!"
