"Wow, this restaurant is insanely over-priced. The food is creative and decent, but is priced as a high-end restaurant which the food quality does not warrant whatsoever. If the prices were lower, I would've enjoyed the food more but considering how much they charge I expected MUCH better food."

"Deservedly well known for creative devil led egg appetizers. Food was very tasty, portion size modest but just right. Extremely attentive wait staff with excellent recommendations. Bottom line, food was delicious. Only negative was a hostess who insisted in seating our table of four right next to the only other table of four in a mostly empty restaurant. The Z Grilles modern and minimalist decor does not exactly dampen sound and the four businessmen were loud talkers."

"Z-grille is our favorite place for the special occasions. The restaurant has a very modern and clean style. The food is excellent and some unique dishes that you can't get anywhere else. My recommendation is for the Dr Pepper Ribs. The people are very friendly and professional, super service. The owners are in the house which I am sure keep up the quality of everything."

"First thing you have to say is it is noisy. Everything including the table tops are solid reflective surfaces. That being said, the experience was wonderful. I can't say that I have had such an eclectic, far-reaching menu anywhere else in FL. The menu seems to be New-Southern and Asian focused. Would YOU think those two go together? Well it works.There are very strong flavours, like truffle oil on a arugula salad - and sage in the chicken. It demonstrates that the chef knows what he and his clientele like and want to experience. Nothing wimpy about this place! i The service was outstanding and the server was a real person with opinions - which I love! I think the best way to experience the ZGrille is to bring a couple of people."

"The food at this restaurant is absolutely the BEST in Tampa Bay. I have eaten there many times and have never been disappointed. I would like to recommend one dish as a "Must Have"... but I wouldn't be able to choose. You do have to have the deviled eggs and Dr. Pepper ribs though. I know, how good could a Deviled Egg be right??... Try them!!"

"If you are looking for a chic version of Southern Cuisine, then Z Grille should be first on your list of places to check out. The deviled eggs are a great start to a meal followed by some dressed up versions of chicken n' waffles or a juicy bone-in pork loin. The prices are a bit steep for St. Pete, but the clientele (which on the weekends can border on Tampa Trashy) doesn't seem to mind. My only complaint is that since there are no soft surfaces in the restaurant, the room can get reaaaaaally loud even with only a half-filled restaurant."

"It's rare to find a place where while you're having dinner you say to yourself, "I have to come back tomorrow". I got that feeling at Z Grille. Cudos to the chef/owner (you see him front and center in his baseball cap) and his lovely wife (you see her at the front door greeting/seating guests. This place is very special. The space is very modern.. with a food bar in front of the open kitchen to the left as you walk in and a nice dining room to the right... all one big room. The menu is not huge, but it seems that everything on it was thought out to be the best it can be. Everything we had was amazing, just perfect. Everything I saw on other tables looked fantastic as well. Yes, I did go back the next day."

"I picked Z Grill because it was close to my hotel. If I find myself back in the Tampa/St. Pete area I would make a specific trip just to have a meal at Z Grill. It is a great casual place. Specialty of the house - deviled eggs; I didn't have any, but my colleague loved his. I had the "WTF French Fries. Now I usually use fries as a means to deliver ketchup to my mouth. These WTF Fries were not served with ketchup and did not need ketchup - outstanding. For dinner I had the fried chicken. But not just any fried chicken! It was coated with corn flakes and served over a waffle and grits. There was also some maple flavor in the sauce. Wow! Excellent!

"This was our first time at this restaurant. While we waited 10 minutes for a server to address us, Marcus (sp?) came by our table and advised us that he would "pinch-hit" and help us out for the evening. He provided us with excellent service and the food was outstanding. We will be back."

"Great food, great service, creative offerings. Off the main drag, which was nice, but still walkable from Vinoy. Trolley dropped us off across the street! Sat indoors with view to outside. The only complaint is the chairs are very uncomfortable, really need a back pillow so you don't feel like you are reclining back too far. I used my purse to prop me up. Prices very reasonable. Will definitely return."

"My wife and I stopped in for lunch after arrival in St. Pete. We chose Z because it was near our lodging. Food quality was good. We started with chips and salsa, which were fresh and tasty. For the main course, I had a burrito and she had a burger, coupled with local brews. Service was prompt. Noise level is energetic at lunch time. If you are looking for a good lunch downtown, Z is a good choice."

"This past Saturday was my 40th Birthday we made reservations at ZGrille for 9pm. It was an awful experience!! TOO NOISY, couldn't even carry on a conversation at our table because the noise level. The seating was strange. The service and our waiter was very good, but the food I ordered was just so-so. The risotto I expected was more like rice mixed with beet sauce. My sil also ordered the grilled portobella and hers was considerably smaller than my meal. She even commented that she paid $19 for this?? I also noticed the manager/owner? paid lots of attention to a high end guest (CEO of Jabil) but never bothered to come over and ask how our meal was. It was clear this was not a great way to celebrate a significant milestome in my life."
