"We were there on a busy Saturday night. It was crowded. Service was poor. It took twenty minutes to order a drink. The Elderflower cocktail was good. The special endive appetizer wrapped in ham was swimming in sauce. The pate was good. The Duck confit was very greasy. Steak with peppercorn sauce was cooked just right. Surprisingly the frites were soggy. Mayo dip was nice. It took over an hour to get our entrees. We did not stay for desert. The waiters were apologetic. Overall, a less than satisfactory experience. Several tables sitting nearby also left unhappy. Perhaps an off night."

"There was road construction during our lunch which created a less than desirable ambiance, but that would only be for a limited time, and the food, service and atmosphere is delightful - so worth that slight inconvenience."

"Don't give many 5s but our experience here was great. The service went above and beyond. The food was very good (couple of small blips so gave 4). Brought our own wine and, with $25 corkage, they were fine (no corkage Tuesdays though, hello! I'll be back just for that!). We had the charcuterie appy and all was very good - high quality cheeses and meats. Friend had short rib entree in an au poivre sauce - very good (although could have been slightly more tender). I went prix fixe and it was excellent value. I started with the soup (sweet pea and bacon). Wasn't my fav but was well done. Duck confit was great. Creme brulee just slightly overcooked. The bit of choc mousse they gave me was tops, though! Will go back soon."

"First time there at this former Bistrot Bistro location. The food was superb, way above my expectation! The special Seafood Vol au Vent was just wonderful. Staff were very friendly, humorous and efficient. It will definitely be on my regular restaurants to visit list!"

"Four of us went to La Cigale for their special Tuesday night roast suckling pig dinner. We all ordered the $30.00 prix fixe menu ( offered Sunday to Thursday) which consisted of an appetizer, a main and a dessert. There were numerous choices for each of the three courses. Two of us ordered the Vichyssoise for the appetizer and the duck confit on sauteed garlic potatoes for the main. The other two ordered the white bean and pork soup as the appetizer and the roast suckling pig for the main. We each had a different dessert. The portions were substantial and we all tasted everything. We were in agreement that each of the courses was superb and that the meal was very reasonably priced. We will definitely return!!"

"I loved La Regalade in West Vancouver and was delighted to find Bridget's new place - with a great menu. Very busy which shows that it has beenwell accepted in Kits. The food was so delicious as usual - will be back!!"

"A bustling French Bistro where they greet you with an aperitif. Our Appetizers of escargot and scallop carpaccio were delish. I enjoyed filet steak with peppercorn sauce and my friend had the seafood vol au vent. The food was grrreat! The ambience and service were top notch. I will definitely return. Cheers Mar"

"They were super busy and seemed understaffed. Food very slow coming out of kitchen, soup went back for a re-heat. Food was good, not exceptional. Staff was very friendly and nice. Desserts were scrumptious."

"I have been a regular at La Cigale from the day it opened. I love the place. The hostess is exceptional, she makes you feel like you are her long lost friend and she's going to make sure you have a wonderful dinning experience.
The food, to die for! Kevin is a talented and inventive chef. He's always pushing the boundaries and continually creates delicious meals.
And finally there is the space itself, warm, inviting and full of life. When the room is filled with happy customers and it so frequently is - then La Cigale is the place to be."

"I just wanted to treat myself and go out for dinner at a nice French Restaurant. I had a great experience here, I thought the food was fantastic, the prices seemed comparable to other restaurants. I was delighted with my meal. Was more than I was expecting it to be. I'm definitely coming back with some friends next time."

"Had a great dining experience. The setting of the restaurant is warm and inviting with great artistic points like the wine bottle chandelier and a beautiful painted mural on the wall. There were so many choices, and the waiters were very helpful and knowledgeable about menu and wine selection. I decided on the lamb shank which was delicious, and of course saved room for one of the yummy looking (and tasting) desserts and got the Crème Brulee. I will definitely be returning soon!"

"I always enjoy dining at "La Cigale". Yes I confess it, I am a returning customer! For many reasons.
1) The chefs. 2 young and great guys. Kevin and Pierre. They make delicious French cuisine. If you have never tried their onion soup, paté, coq au vin or daube provencale then leave everything immediately and go there! But most often I choose the "plat du jour". Always creative, sometimes playing with old French recipes, sometimes new and creative flavours. I am a chocolatier and I can tell you that their fantastic deserts are made with the best chocolate of the world, Michel Cluizel, the one I select myself...
2) The service and the atmosphere. I like the combination of quality and open mind. That is exactly what Vancouver is for me."

"Service was slow, so we politely asked our waiter where our meals were. After our main course, the maitre de tendered the bill without asking if we wanted dessert or coffee. We thought this exceedingly rude."

"I'm been here a few times and it's a lovely place. They had a bit of a nightmare on Valentine's night because they overbooked and the service ended up being ridiculously slow. That was a mistake, it's normally a nice well run place with simple, fresh and tasty French food."

"Terrific dinner! The short ribs were everything I desired and more. The frites could be thinner. A chocolate mousse is a must! Bistro Bistrot is a hard act to follow."

"A good dining experience except for noise level....too high. There was no dessert menu, so we were a bit surprised when we chose from the server's verbal list, an item that was $9.25....pretty expensive for a dessert. The wine list had some good selections, but was rather limited in some areas. I could compose a better list from my favourite French wines."

"Overall, nothing stood out for this restaurant. There was nothing really wrong with the place, but I really didn't like the fact that our tables and the one next to ours needed half cut wine cork as table leg shims. Otherwise, the food and service was good. Personally, I think there are other casual french restaurants that are better in Vancouver."

"Our first (but not last!) visit to a relatively new room. We were pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to talk given how full and busy the smallish room seemed upon arrival. Food is over the top good: superb French bistro. Excellent advice on a wine list I didn't have much familiarity with. Service was good but could have been a little more attentive. Try it; you certainly won't regret it. New owner was previously of La Regalade in West Vancouver. La Cigale is even better."
