"Parallel Post is a unique dining experience for this part of Fairfield County. If you haven't been yet, you definitly want to give it a try.
We've been to Parallel Post at least six times now, and our experience has been uniformly great. I read some of the other reviews on here and am surprised by the one's that are negative because based on my multiple experiences there, I don't get it. The wait staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the food; they seem proud of what comes out of the kitchen-- always a good sign!
Parallel Post is a restaurant with a casual, modern atmosphere, but where the food is anything but casual."

"Three times visiting this new hot spot and quite happy. Favorites include the Lady Killer (a margarita with jalapeño infused tequila), the grass fed burger, the Mahi, the Brussels sprouts and I required you to enjoy the adult grilled cheese as an app."

"As a Trumbullite I really wanted to like PP. . The decor is upscale, candle lit ( a little too dark-used cell phone to read menu) but this is a hotel restaurant so you are going to dine with any groups staying at the hotel. In our case there was some kind of children's pageant so the restaurant was FILLED with noisy kids wearing sashes and glo sticks. The maitre'd did help us find a quieter table. Service was very slow. Waited longer than usual for our drink order & when we needed salt for the bland chicken soup, our waitress could not be found. The food-menu did not match online menu so was disappointed. " Crispy Brussels sprouts" charred & bitter, cauliflower was swimming in oil. Don' t plan to return."

"Left after 45 minutes due to poor service. Received the complementary bottle of tap water, ordered a drink (twice, with two different waiters) and waited 15 minutes for it. Not once did someone come by to take our food order, until I flagged down the maitre'd (or was he a busboy?). He took our entree order (a that point there was not way I wanted to order apps) but could not answer a single question about the food. Finally left after seeing what I though were our entrees brought to three incorrect tables by yet ANOTHER server. Wanted to like this place so bad - the menu looks fantastic, and Trumbull is certainly a foodie desert."

"This was my first time dinning at this restaurant and it will not be my last. I was highly impressed with the unique food combinations, courteous staff and the warm ambience of the restaurant. This hidden gem offers fresh ingredients from local farms and other local vendors. They change their menu weekly so don't expect to go back for your favorites as they might not be there! They even use local breweries for their beer selection! What a great way to bring communities together, help out local businesses and stimulate the economy. The food was phenomenal! I am still dreaming about it! I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone."

"My family and I really enjoyed the dinner we had here. The environment was really comfortable. Everyone enjoyed the food we had-- it was well-prepared, innovative, very fresh. Our server was excited about the restaurant and about the food he was serving us which added to our enjoyment of the meeting. I think some people might be reluctant to give this place a try because it's in the lobby of a Marriott, but they shouldn't be. Parallel Post is not serving the standard fare that you find in a suburban hotel"

"This is a great new place. Nothing like you would expect from a hotel restaurant. The food is excellent. My meal is as good as any fine dining experience I've had in Manhattan. The staff is super helpful, but service can be slow. They never seem to be in rush! There isn't anything like this menu in the Stratford, Trumbull, Bridgeport, or Shelton area. Worth the visit and proud to support this new great find."

"If this restaurant was not IN A BAR, we would certainly return. The food was really good, nice sized portions for sharing or for smaller meals. Keep in mind, this is NOT bar food in any way shape or form. Appropriately priced. Onion gratin was ice cold but the other dishes were very good. The noise and constantly moving around bar patrons were more than distracting and annoying. If I wanted to eat in a bar, I would have chosen a different venue. Service was spotty, food took way too long to get to table (hence, the ice cold onion?). It is too bad they do not separate the bar area and make a real restaurant. Food is way to "upscale " for just the usual Marriot traveler, the place would be a hit with local restaurant patrons"

"With an imaginatively presented farm-to-table menu, the Parallel Post was a pleasant surprise. We went as a party of four, and although they were “out” of one of the menu entrees ordered by two in the party, the selections we all did have were quite tasty. Between us we had mushroom soup and “adult” grilled cheese as appetizers. Dinners included a shrimp dish (the shrimp was substituted for scallops that they were out of), a burger, roast chicken and a duck confit salad. And the dessert was a chocolate pannacotta that made the people eating it swoon. The menu changes with what is available at local farms on a given day, but there are several “staples” that are available. The service was attentive, but not overwhelming. We will return."

"The food was very good with an inventive menu, but our service was awful primarily because of how slow it was. Our server messed up our appetizer order (but the restaurant fixed it quickly with no problem) but was nowhere to be found and we waited about 20-30 min between courses. At the end of our meal we ended up needing to just bring our bill up to the bar because we waited for someone to take our card for half an hour. That being said, the atmosphere was really nice and we did enjoy our meal. I am hoping it was an off night and so will likely go back to try one more time before giving up because the food was very tasty."

"The Parallel Post was a wonderful experience for my husband and me. The staff are so friendly and attentive. The food was outstanding. I like that they are a farm to table restaurant and serve sustainable proteins. We started with the braised brussel spouts as an appetizer even though it is listed as a side dish. I highly recommend them. Our entrees must have been terrific since there was nothing left on our plates. I try not to have dessert but this was for Valentine's day and my husband chose to share a chocolate panancotta. All I can say is YUM!"

"The service here was very kind but the kitchen was very slow and uncoordinated making meal delivery time staggered (10 minute wait in between our entrees for our party) which was too bad after long wait overall. Beautiful place and great, fresh farm table products used - some of it prepared beautifully (the tartar and the monkfish - great job, delicious!) - other plates over-salted (duck salad), meh. Worth a second shot though."

"I was intially hesitant about dining in a hotel restaurant. However, the overall experience was pleasantly surprising. We requested a table off to the side rather than dining in the center of the restaurant where the tables are placed closely togehter. The food was fresh tasting and offered many unique flavors. The two of us ordered 3 appetizers, a salad, 2 entrees, 2 drinks each, and 1 dessert and the bill was extremely reasonable. I would definitely recommend trying Parallel Post - a new gem in town not known for good restaurants."
