"Reservation made 3 months prior via Open Table, seated an hour past our reserved time. Staff at hostess station rude and warrants additional training. Finally seated after discussion with Manager. No compensation nor apology made. Poor management with an attitude. It's a shame.

best. Of all the places we tried during Derby week- these folks shined. The first greeting at the reception to the last goodbye- everyone was friendly without being overtly phony. They were genuinely happy to see us and serve us.

"This spot has it all - a great bourbon list, great cocktails, and wonderful food...not too mention the service and staff was great! We had a reservation at 9pm but got there early to see if they could fit us in, they could and did (even with it being Derby/Oaks weekend)...except we ended up sneaking into a spot at the bar. The bartender was incredibly knowledgable and gave great suggestions. My husband had the pork and I had the filet - wonderful! Truffled grits, yum! Spicy fried oysters, delicious! Their bourbon list was beyond impressive. Overall, next time we come to Louisville, we definitely plan on coming here again!"

"Really loved this place being a real bourbon fan.. Very extensive menu of fine bourbons and got to try several.
Food was pretty decent and everyone in the party indicated they thought everything was very good. Bistro has a nice ambiance and wait staff was very attentive and bartender was very knowledgeable on their bourbon selection.

Food was very good - party of four shared the charcuterie and cheese plate and a very tasty warm dip. Everything was good, but the mustard on the meat and cheese plate was standout!
All four entrees: pork, duck, pasta with pork belly, and fish were very well prepared and enjoyed by all.
The bread pudding was really lovely (the dried cherries really made the otherwise too-sweet dessert into a perfect bite, but I probably wouldn't order the blondie again...texture was a little mealy."

"Three of the four people in our group had the special of the evening: New York strip steak. All of us found the meat to be warm, but not hot when served. And, all of us found a substantial amount of gristle in the steaks. I mentioned this to our server, and soon the Chef appeared at the table. He explained that this is the way he chooses to cut the steaks because he feels it adds more flavor. This may be so, but chewing on gristle in a $34 steak is less than pleasant.
The appetizers were wonderful and the list of bourbons is long. However, the wine list only has two Zinfandels, and they were out of the one we selected. Our server was charming, and the atmosphere of the place is cozy and friendly. I may give it one more chance."

"The services was spectacular, knowledgeable and helpful without being hovering or annoying. Unfortunately the NY Strip special was, good but not spectacular. The bourbon list was extensive. The pork belly with grits appetizer was good."

"We were seated shortly after we arrived which was very close to our reservation time. This was a pleasant surprise.
Our server, Steve, was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, both alchohol and food. He made us feel very comfortable and special.

"The fried calamari was brought after the salad and was very salty. It was very crisp and pretty fresh. The redfish was promoted as spicy, but was bland and swimming in butter. The waitress did bring us some dried spices to help. My son liked his steak and it was prepared to his liking."
