"Well, our dinner for 5 was what you would expect. Tasty, hot, but nothing exceptional. Four of our party ordered wine or cocktails, and subsequently, our bill was $348 before gratuity of $70. So this averaged over $80 per person. Definitely not worth it. Won"t go back anytime soon. For example, my very scant glass of pinot noir was $15 per glass. Really?"

"I heard the portions at the Cheshire were on the small side but I found it to be the opposite. Liked everything about the restaurant though I would like to try eating there in the upfront or middle dining room. The room we sat in was pretty remote and sterile and was not until they turned the lights down did it exhibit a soothing atmosphere. Also, btw felow stl diners, if you go out to eat at a nice place, how about dressing up a tad...we has most were nicely dressed but a couple came in looking like they just got done working in the garden...kind of denegrates the whole experience"

"We had our anniversary dinner at The Restaurant and it was truly a wonderful experience. Never had dined there before nor knew anyone who had. Everything was great from the ambiance to service, to the food. We will definitely plan on returning and hopefully will get back there soon!"

"Price reasonable. Food interesting. I had the Prime Rib Hash. As I ate, the fat in the prime rib congealed as the food quickly cooled.This because the plate & the au jus were ice cold. The service was neglectful; but delivered pleasantly. The waitress was cheerful & presentable. But was never around. Of course all of this is 'Top Down'. When we left, the manager opened the door to the vestibule, we looked at the second, heavier door & back to him; but he remained rooted to the floor until he slipped, smiling, back through the door. And my friend uses a cane! There were large groups and kids, but the room was gorgeous, quiet & pleasant. We were never made to feel rushed. I would go again for the ambience & decor but eat before I arrived."

"Nice Business/Casual feel ~ Could be a special occasion destination or favorite neighborhood spot ~ Food presented visually attractive, in a very timely & friendly manner ~ wait staff professional yet willing to be light-hearted ~ Husband's chicken entrée pleased him greatly, our asparagus side dish was done to perfection in a very tasty butter sauce, & my macaroni & cheese was out-of-this-world wonderful! Wine was pleasant & affordable."

"it was our first dining experience at the restaurant and we will definitely return. the sugarbush sling cocktail was a bit pricey $11 for a few sips but it was delicious. the scallops were amazing...i have been dreaming about them since our visit.

"Went to dinner Saturday night . Was seated right away and the appetizers we ordered came out very fast . The tuna crudo was great as well as our smoked salmon . "We had out of town guests and were looking for something nice and heard about the Restaurant at Cheshire.
From the time we entered until the time we left, the staff made us feel welcome and the service was outstanding.
The Food was great, from the salads and starters to the Main Entree, everything was perfect. Three of the party had Beef and all were prepared perfectly, the Potatoes, Risotto and other garnishes were all wonderful and our guests commented several times on what a great meal. I would recommend The Restaurant at Cheshire for all looking for an enjoyable dinning experience."

"Dined at The Restaurant at the Cheshire for the first time. We went therefor a romantic date night. Food fantastic , I had the trout and my wife the salmon. Very savory and delicious. Shared a bottle of wine decent selection. the kith hen is open to the diners this adds a cool touch. Good service very sweet waitress, she wasnt sure about some items on the menu and had to go back to the kitchen and ask but I didn't find this a huge inconvenience. She wasn't hovering over us she seemed to be there right when we needed something. We asked about a drink bigger group of diners were trying and the staff let us taste the definition.. It's was something the chef had been working on. Had after dinner drink at Basso would recommend."

"When this place opened I couldnt get enough of it. Food, service, ambience , energy. The hisband/wife chef team left awhile ago and it shows. Only thing that's left of the original is the high prices. Service was disjointed, inattentive, food has become very ordinary, signature prime rib was a big disappointment. I wont be back."

"I was impressed with the menu, but the service was the worst I've ever had at a place with these prices. We had Greek yogurt w/ granola, oysters and Bloody Caesars for starters. Entrees: pancakes, Cheshire Benedict and poached eggs w/ prime rib hash. Excellent! Superb ambiance. Terrible service. Our entrees took forever. No one came to check on us. I was so thirsty and couldn't get something to drink. It took forever to get our bill and then some random woman had the nerve to ask us why we were still sitting there. Really? We hadn't received our credit card back yet and signed the receipt. The staff needs to work out some major kinks and it will be a long time, if ever, before I give the new Cheshire a second try."

"We enjoyed our first visit to The Restaurant very much! We loved everything that we ordered. My daughter, Elizabeth, is still raving about the Mac and Cheese. The scallops were cooked perfectly! "This was our third visit and it was awful. Unfriendly hostess. Drafty, cold room. After asking the waiter 3 times to raise the temperature or shut down the blower, he said he already had and laughed at us. Silverware kept falling off the plates. Although valet parking was not available on Sunday, good thing since they make you get out of your car 50 yards ahead of the restaurant door. Great food. Terrible service."

"We moved into the neighborhood prior to the closing & remodel but never made it over. I returned earlier in the day from a business trip Middle East and wanted a quiet relaxing dinner with my wife with good food and conversation. The Resturant at the Cheshire was great! We were well taken care of from the minute we walked the door. We both had sea food dishes so I can't comment about the others but the the scallops were perfect and the trout was to die for! The oysters as an appitizer were as good as the best in town. Good selection of drinks & wines. We have already made plans to return with friends who haven't been there yet.
Experience at the Market was great a couple weeks ago. Basso after dinner was too crowded for a drink after."

"I remember the amazing taste of the Prime Rib from the Cheshire Inn. The restaurant touts that it has the same old recipie. However if this is the same old recipie I wouldn't have come back! The Prime Rib was over cooked and covered in a sweet bourban sauce with no mention of that on the menu. What's the point if I wanted a glass of bourban I would have ordered it. The medium rare steak was well done with no pink and the sauce was so overpowering that you couldn't taste the delicateness of the Prime Rib. My wifes filet had a great flavor and the addition of the blue cheese was nice. The atmosphere was inviting although a little brightly lit in some spots where the lights shone directly on the table or the person sitting at the table."

"The food was adequate, but overall I was not impressed, especially for what we paid. The pork belly appetizer was the highlight of our meal. My dad ordered the braised short-ribs and while they were good, he was not wowed! I ordered the prime rib that came with a popover (yorkshire pudding) and roasted potatoes. The prime rib was cooked okay but was extremely grisly. The roasted potatoes were somewhat bland, a more inventive mashed potato would have worked out better. My dad had the creme brulee for dessert, it tasted as if it had been refrigerated for a while and was not warm on the top. I had the chocolate gooey butter cake. Ordered the chocolate souffle to go, but they didn't include the ice cream, but charged full price!"

"Our brunch at the Restaurant at the Cheshire was absolutely wonderful. A place that has beignets and blood orange mimosas on the regular brunch menu is notable already. Our waiter was gracious, well informed, and unobtrusive. The lemon ricotta french toast and bananas foster waffles were religious experiences, and the cheddar grits are best described as "the fall of Rome in a bowl." I highly recommend this brunch."

"The food was very nice. I had the heirloom tomatoes and the Halibut, my husband had the Kale salad and the scallops. Everything was delicious. The wine list is small. Our server was friendly and helpful, but mispronounced a couple of the names of the entrees.
The only real downer is that they offer no self-parking option even though there is a huge parking lot that they have roped off, then they charge you $4 for valet parking. A little strange and seemed like money grab more than anything else."

"Although I tried to add people to our reservation and could not because restaurant said they were booked from 6-9 pm.. There were empty tables all around us the whole night. Our server was slow to take our order, brought our champagne that sat on the table for 15 min until an ice bucket finally arrived. The filet mignon I had was not seasoned. They charge $4 to valet your car ( which is mandatory) which is ridiculous since there is a large parking lot right in front of the restaurant!"

"We had a wonderful dining experience thanks to our server, Sarah and the AMAZING food prepared by the excellent chef at the Cheshire!! We started with the mouth watering pork belly on cheese grits and a shrimp bisque. I had a delicious filet, cooked to perfection, and my husband enjoyed the red wine braised beef short ribs, which were seriously soooo tender! We chose a very smooth delicious red zin that was perfect with our entrees. We loved the ambiance and can't wait for the next opportunity to return."
