"At lunch, I told our waiter that I was between the Black Kale salad and the beet salad. He described it as very healthy - so I ordered it. It had several other ingredients listed, including quinoa - but it was essentially a pile of kale coarsely chopped. Period. The dressing was barely distinguishable, as was the quinoa or whatever else was supposed to be in the bowl. As a regular of the original Nick & Sam's, I'm stunned that this dish would be on the menu of a Nick & Sam's derivative. Seriously, it was terrible. When I asked for blue cheese dressing and said, "I really don't like this salad," the server offered to get me the beet salad. I just slathered blue cheese on it - so much for the "healthy" part of this!"

"Love the low calorie content and excellent flavors. The flatbreads are especially delicious! The vegetarian sampler salad is one of my favorites. The fish and meat dishes are all great, too. The tiny desserts in the shot glasses are perfect for a taste of sweets without over indulging."

"The service here is OUTSTANDING. We had a great server - very courteous and always two steps ahead of us, which we all appreciated very much. It was also a nice touch that the maitre d' called a couple of days later asking us about our experience.
Food was okay. LOVE the concept of local and organic foods, but I've had better execution. The mussels were a hit - light and very fresh flavors. Loved the biscuits too. We noticed some Asian flair, such as chili oil with fermented black beans in the calimari, which made the dish too salty. The quail was perfectly cooked but the sauce was overpowering. Flounder portion was very small.
The place looked like it was trying too hard. A mix of trendy/traditional, if "trendy" means 4 years ag"

"Great dining experience except for the shortage of available entrees. By the time my friend and I ordered dinner around 9PM on Saturday night, three of the entrees were unavailable which was disappointing. Otherwise, highly recommend the restaurant."

"The waiter was rushing us to turn the table and it was so obvious we told him to chill so we could have time to visit. He was polite on the surface but his actions betrayed his words and continued to press for an exit. On previous visits I have not experienced this pressured. Steak was great but friends panned entrée's as good not great. Fun atmosphere, very charming hostess and all were kind and helpful. Will return, but please chill on the rush..."

"Fantastic customer service from valet to general manager (who visited every table in a packed restaraunt). Creative sushi - my dad who has refused to try sushi for 80 yrs was tempted by a salmon, avocado roll w/ a dash of jalapeño. He ended up eating half the appetizer.
My filet was 10 oz not 6 or 8 and was the best aged steak I've had in yrs - like the old days before lean and Whole foods turned steak bland and mono-tasting. And one half was good the next day for bfast w/ eggs
The sides are fantastic, particularly the sautéed greens.

"We were not greeted for at least a good 5 minutes.Then our waiter brought over a bottle of wine, which we didnt order.Jason then came back and told us basically nothing about the menu.Didnt offer recommendations and asked if we would like to know about the specials and then pointed to a card listing them on the table, so personable.We started with calamari.There was more arguala then calamari.My girlfriend order the scallops, the sauce on the scallops was like baby food.Jason told us about the house soup, a ginger carrot blend, he said it was great, wrong.I asked for a fried egg and avocado on my burger, just got the fried egg.And the lobster mac should be called no lobster mac because there was no lobster.I also had to ask for my change."

"Way too dark and noisy. The food was quite good, pan fried lemon sole was a large filet, perfectly breaded, and the lemon beurre blanc sauce was heavenly. I would not go back however to sit at a table in the dining room unless they issue flashlights to the servers like they do at the steakhouse (which they do, although I think it's cheesy). Create an ambience where it's dark and romantic, but put some light in the right places, to see the menu and to see your food. Oh, the French onion soup was on the salty side.
I would return to sit at the bar for dinner and try it again that way."

"best thing about the place is their 'wines by the glass' menu. On a former visit I discovered they poured a Jordan Cab by the glass for $ 15. BARGAIN ! Last visit noticed it was off the menu [ they realized what a great deal it was and they stopped it ????? ] but had a nice Stag's Leap instead. Not as good, but still nice.
Bar staff a bit stand offish; there's a fine line between being professional and aloof."

"It was a nice evening with friends but we had an 8pm reservation and we did not get seated until 8:15 or 8:20. I was standing away from the bar and one of the hostess' came by to seat some other guests, I asked if she could check on when we were going to be seated and her response was, I don't know I just seat people. I asked if she could check and she said okay. However it seemed like I was putting her out for having to check for me, that was disappointing that we had to wait since we had reservations and got a response from the staff like that, but once seated the evening was great."

"We were with a party of eight. Our waitress was not pleasant from the beginning but we all just went with it. It took at least 20 minutes for our first round of drinks (only 4) to be brought out. The waitress was absent minded all night. Two people in our party ordered scallops that had to be sent back due to them not being warm. The management did step up and take care of us. The food was good and the waiter that took over was excellent. The key lime pie is excellent!"

"Early dinner(before 7:00pm). Noise built making it difficult for two people to talk as the night went on. Brussel sprouts with shrimp was good, but came with a sauce that tasted mostly like catsup. Field greens came with a vinaigrette that was was thick with a VERY strong onion taste. In a word, terrible. Pan fried sole had a cakey, overcooked breading. Fish inside was greasy. The accompanying vegetable on the menu was long beans, instead was served with asparagus. That was ok as an unexpected substitute, but was so undercooked as to be hard and inedible. (I am not talking al dente) I mean almost not capable of being cut with a knife. Fairly expensive petite fillet was prepared as ordered and was very good."

"Our reservation was for 7:30 and we were finally seated at 8:20. No apologies as to the late seating. The waiter checked our drinks once we were seated, however, once we finished that drink, we sat at the table for 20 minutes with no offer of another drink. Service was slow. I realize they were busy, but perhaps more waitstaff would have helped. 50 minutes to wait for a table is unacceptable."

"Great experience. This restaurant is a very nice mix between up-scale "foodie" and more casual neighborhood dining. Nice enough to take business guest or host a special evening with your spouse, yet casual enough to walk in with jeans and a sport-coat and grab a drink and a burger at the bar. Food was great and service was friendly and responsive. I plan to make this place a regular stop. Give this place a try!"

"We enjoyed our dinner. We were disappointed in the bottle of wine. The wine was actually warmer than room temperature which most restaurants insist on serving. They do not seem to get the concept of cellar temperature. Room temperature would have been better than what we got. It was a cool evening and it could have been outside temperature which would have been much better. Most restaurants just never learn."

"We enjoyed this new iteration of Nick & Sam's Grill for Valentine's Day and had a fantastic evening. While the crowds were large we never felt rushed or hemed in at all. The service was attentive without being intrusive, the food prepared exactly as we ordered it, and the atmosphere is modern and vibrant. It has a completely different feel to Nick $ Sam's in uptown and we enjoy them both. We will return soon and often!"
