"Patio dining is great. Furniture is comfortable, views are scenic and plants, etc make the patio feel like you are at a resort. There is always something interestingly delicious on the menu. Christopher does a great job of greating guests and making sure everything is as outstanding as it should be. Front desk Jay always has a smile on his face and is very accommodating with seating. Kirsten is most pleasant and Nick is very knowledgeable about wines. Altogether a spectacular dining experience."

"We went to this place with almost no expectations of what we might find. Upon arriving & discovering they had outdoor seating, we chose that route since it was a gorgeous night. (I am not a fan of dark places except when it's dark outside & the inside gave the impression of a barn - without lights. However, on a chilly winter evening, the fireplaces sure could be cozy) anyhow, Steve our server was on top of his game, with a relaxed but attentive style & he offered several great suggestions. The fillet & skirt steaks we ordered were fantastic, the calamari ap had a nice twist to it, & the outdoor ambiance was very pleasant. A little pricey in some areas ( the $9 for an 8oz beer was not all that impressive) but we will be back!"

"The waitstaff was very friendly, although not as attentive as could be. Our waitress gave us some trouble about splitting the bill (we were a group of 8) but in the end was able to do it. Service was slow, and our waitress didn't check in on us very often, which was unfortunate. Music was a bit too loud, but not unbearably so.
However, the food was incredible! Everybody in our group loved their dinner, dessert, drink, whatever they ordered.
I would definitely recommend the restaurant, but make sure you have a decent amount of time set aside - in total, our dinner lasted around 2 and a half hours."

"Wow! Another terrific dining experience. Always worth the 60 plus mile round trip from Chicago. Here's a great dining location that couldn't be more stable. From the ever changing seasonal unique food offerings, from appetizers right through dessert they keep you coming back for more. Their staff has always been beyond reproach, from the first person welcoming you as you walk in the door, to the knowledgeable wait staff, and the ever watchful floor manager, you are well cared for throughout your mealtime. The brilliant decor environment, both inside and out on the patio, makes your dining experience even more satisfying, right down to the care taken to burn just the right wood in the fireplaces to achieve the optimum fragrance. A sure bet!"

"The restaurant was a little too dark. It was difficult to see our food. This may have been because we were eating in the bar area but I do not know. I tried a really good drink that had some cilantro and it I can't remember what it was called, but the server said that it was a martini. When it came in a barrel shaped glass that was a little bit of a letdown when I was expecting it in a martini glass. overall the food was very good. We had flatbread pizza and eggplant appetizer, fillet, polenta and brussels sprouts. It was a very good meal, interesting menu, and nice wines to choose from."

"We tried the Saddle Room for the first time Saturday night! We brought 4 friends with us and had an amazing first experience! From the time we walked in the door, Steven at the host stand was very accomodating in telling us about the restaurant and making sure we felt very welcome. We started out with martinis in the bar. The bartender, Maria, was full of personality and made some of the best martinis we had all ever had! Highly recommend the Honey Dew Me Martini! The guys did some OTB betting and the girls sat by the fire outside for a while and chatted- great ambience outside! We had the perfect table for dinner and the food was outstanding! I recommend the salmon and the Prime Pizza! We can't wait to go back! A rare find in the suburbs!"

"This was our first visit to The Saddle Room. The menu was unique and we each trued something new, Monk Fish and Turkey Lasagna. We shared the spinach salad. . . it was the best I ever tasted - you must try it if you go! A pom-a-dor martini and a craft beer were both good choices as well. We will definitely return and would strongly recommend the Saddle Room."

"The dishes we ordered were delicious, and overall we enjoyed the experience, but there were a couple of negatives. The dining room we were in had only the barest decor, and it was cold in there. Our table must have been directly under the air conditioning vent because every few minutes we would get a blast of Arctic air. We had a handicap person with us, and it would have been difficult to relocate, so we just stayed put.
The other negative was with one of the servers who brought the food to our table. She was wearing a large nose ring with a bead dangling from it. It was distracting and not what you want to see right before you begin a meal. We will be back, but next time we will ask to be seated in one of the other dining rooms."

"Servers are well versed not only in menu items but also wine and bar offerings. Entrees are interestingly prepared with delicious accompaniments. The staff is courteous and attentive and the presence of managers lens us to feel welcome and cared for. Whether dining indoors or out the ambiance is top notch. The care and attention given to the furniture, lighting and planters and flooring makes the saddle room a fine place for special occasions. There is something for everyone on the menu and the chef will also accommodate special requests."

"Restaurant not only has gourmet dining., but the off track betting is an excellent way to compliment dinner. Great atmosphere, I would recommend with friends or one on one.
Lack of bar food (burgers, etc), so if looking to just OTB and burger, might not happen here.

"The Saddle Room was a little disappointing. The restaurant is not quite sure what it wants to be. The ambiance was much different than I expected when we made the reservation. It had more of an upscale bar feel than a restaurant feel. The paring lot was also littered with race programs from their OTB.
The food was okay but under-seasoned. We both looked for the salt and pepper and could not find it. The side dishes were very good as were the salads we had. The drinks were good, but they did not put the prices on the menu. Some diners may kick up a fuss at $12-13 drinks.
The staff was okay. Our waiter seemed slightly disinterested and cold. The restaurant was also half full at 7:00 on a Saturday night. Not a great sign."

"A decent restaurant with decent food. A bit noisy. Decor is modern, with a fireplace pit that one can sit about and have something to drink and munch on. Server was knowledgeable, food was tasty. Calamari as appetizer was quite good, main dishes likewise. Bread pudding only fair (I am not sure there is such a thing as bad bread pudding). Table we were seated at had a serious tilting problem, but they came immediately and fixed the issue. Overall a place for repeat business."

"The Saddle Room was great. I am familiar with the owners original restaurant, The Turf Room, which are nearly identical twins so I was very pleased with the new Restaurant. Upon arriving while wondering through the menu we were brought out a treat from the chef, which was amazing. All of our meals were delicious, although I must say the portions for mine was a bit sparse but taste and presentation was amazing. I was the only one with the smaller dish, but this also left me room for dessert which was great as well. I love the ambiance of this restaurant with the wood burning fire places throughout it always smells rustic and the food was amazing."

"We have been to Saddle Room several times. Must admit this time the food was lack luster. Beet salad was SSOOOooo salty, it was inedible. We notified the waiter and he was very nice about it. The manager came over and apologized, very nice as well. The skirt steak was very fatty and not so tasty. On a brighter note, the calamari appetizer was wonderful and the hummus plate was excellent. Not sure if we will return since it is expensive. Raved about the restaurant before to our friends, so it was a bit embarrassing :)"

"We loved this place. Seating is spaced apart from others enough to have conversation without others hearing yours. Food was great. We really liked the variety. Drinks are unique and tasteful. Not very kid-friendly, but superb for date night or night out with friends. It is larger than the Turf Room, has a Wine Bar and an outdoor area for warmer weather. Great place, great food, great drinks! Fireplace adds a nice cozy feel. Highly recommend!"

"Fantastic restaurant. Good food and atmosphere. Great menu with many different items to choose from. My only complaint is I ordered the short ribs and they came out luke warm and got cold quickly. Also our cappuccino was the same way. Last time I was there my appetizer was the same way. Kitchen needs to watch temperatures on there foods. Even with that we had a great dining experience."

"My wife and I have dined at the Saddle Room four times now and have truly never been disappointed. Food is great and we continue to try different things from the menu. They have a good wine list and I'd call special attention to the service. Truly outstanding in all respects. Highly recommended!"

"The menu had some inventive items but the execution need work. The BBQ pork sandwich was fatty and the brussels sprout side dish was salty. The kobe beef slider and the mahi mahi slider were both very good. There were no heart healty items on the menu either. Great wine list and the cocktails are made with fresh juices.
Overall I liked the atmosphere and the bar was great I will return for drinks and appetizers."

"Took my spouse and one of our kids for a Friday night treat. Thoroughly enjoyed the apple and cheese salad appetizer, butterball lasagna, pig flight, and root beer cookies. Not a kid friendly menu at all (they might consider adding a few things, especially a simple ice cream dessert.) I really like this place but it is way overpriced in my opinion."

"We felt like we were in a loud warehouse. Concrete everywhere and VERY loud and dark. The men in the group complained that the portions were too small. Ordered the lamb meatball appetizer and it came with ONE meatball. The waiter knew we were sharing, so he should have mentioned it. Had to ask repeatedly for water. Ordered the short ribs, which came recommended as the best thing on the menu by the waiter and they were very bland and in desperate need of seasoning. It's too bad because we are in desperate need of good restaurants in the NW suburbs. The outside area looks interesting. Hopefully they will get it together by the time the weather improves so we can try it again. Foodies beware, the great reviews aren't from one of us."

"We never heard if saddle room before which is pretty close to our house. Its tucked away in a strange location, but we were pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was nice it reminded me of Jackson, WY. The food was good. Everything we had was prepared well. We would go back."

"The ambiance,food, and server was outstanding. The combination of sauces with the food might not appeal to you at first, but be adventurous , it will pay off. Everything was delicious from the pork to the salmon, to the desserts. Everyone on the staff was extremely friendly. It looked like they were enjoying themselves as much as we were."

"We were surprised to find that this restaurant was also an OTB location, but don't let that sway you from coming. The OTB facility is separate from the restaurant and bar, so there aren't horse races on big screen TVs throughout the restaurant.
As for the restaurant, we were seated in the smaller back wine room, which I would recommend. It was cozier and quieter than the main restaurant and bar, and has its own wine bar and special menu. The menu is rather unique, with lots of unusual preparations and pairings. If you're expecting typical American-sized entrees, you might be disappointed. The dishes were definitely smaller than most typical entrees, although I was satisfied. The service was excellent."

"The music was way too loud, we couldn't hear eachother speaking. We asked the manager if we could be moved to another table but we were told the table where we were seated was the only table he had for 6 people. He offered to turn down the music but then immediately told us the owner likes loud music. The music was turned down briefly (for about 15 minutes)but was then turned back up to the original volume. Our waitress, although pleasant, seemed rather disinterested in serving us as she took part of our drink order, left and tended to another table, brought the partial order, then came back and finished our drink order. There was no sense or urgency for our dinner order as well. Limited menu and over priced."

"Overall - good. They offer burgers and possibly some other sandwiches but we had to ask for that menu. They also offer a house or Ceasar salad that is not on their menu which we also had to inquire about. There are no prices on their drinks and they are pricey, so be careful if you are on a budget. I had a pork dish prepared three ways. The tenderloin was supposed to be medium rare, but it was really rare, so I had to send it back. The pulled pork was delicious but the pork belly was also undercooked so I never had that crunch of the fat. The Sweet & Beet salad was delicious. We also had the duck, gnocchi and lamb ribs. All of those dishes were good. The butternut squash soup was also delicious. Nice atmosphere, enjoyed the privacy."
