"My husband and I went there with another couple and everyone enjoyed it very much. One of the specials of the evening was a razor clam salad that was fantastic. I had a small plate - chicken and morels with pasta - that was just perfect. We all thought the service was just right, genuinely friendly and efficient."

"Amazing food, amazing service, fun atmosphere. The chef's counter is very special. You get to watch food being prepared and cooked in the wood oven. We recommend the flatbread or the lamb meatballs from the oven. We haven't had anything we haven't absolutely loved yet."

"Although everyone raved about their short ribs, my chicken was dry and tough. The mashed potatoes were the best part of the meal. The clams were delicious as was the guyere/ham toast.
So many servers messed up beverages several times.

"This was our 4th time at this place and we were treated like life-long friends. We were seated at the chef's counter without even asking and all the staff stopped by to chat. The food was excellent, once again. We loved it so much that after our symphony concert we went back and went to the bar, The Rookery, upstairs for another drink. Very special place."

"The food and service were A1. When we entered we were dismayed at the noise, from conversation competing with music, in the main restaurant. We would not have been able to hear each other speak. Fortunately the hostess seated us, at our request, by the elevator which is to one side - definitely not part of the main dining area! Had this not happened we would not have stayed to eat."

"For the most part, we enjoyed our first visit to Raven and Rose. My husband's piece of cod was very small and not worth the $26.00 price. My short ribs were quite delicious. I had butterscotch pudding for dessert, and everyone who tasted it wondered where the butterscotch flavoring was. That was a disappointment! Noise level was fine until the end of our meal when a large group of very inebriated individuals was seated very close by. We would not have enjoyed any part of our evening if they had been there the entire evening. I am sure we will come back sometime, but it won't be a frequent restaurant destination."

BTW, Open Table, you need to include a noise level rating beyond "Energetic" in your multiple choice questions. I suggest "Deafening.""

"This is a beautiful restaurant with a wonderful atmosphere. I have given it a rather subdued rating, however, because it is not a particularly good value. I could find a more memorable dinner at any of a number of places (e.g., St. Jack) for less money, so those are the places I would be recommending to friends. If I pay $25.00 for a dinner of beef short ribs that does not even include bread service, I expect to receive a respectable portion of meat. It was well-prepared and beautifully presented but very small in size."

"Absolutely lovely food, carefully prepared and beautifully presented. We found the entrees to be overpriced for Portland, however. Its location and ambience are great. Confusingly, the outside sign makes it look like an English pub, but the inside has a nice, warm restaurant feel. Try it for a special evening if you don't mind the steep-ish entree prices."

"We really enjoyed Raven and Rose. We used Supportland points to redeem food from the wood oven section of the menu, and it was delicious. We enjoyed the lamb meatballs. I would highly recommend getting those with the Ken's Artistan Breads. Great combo because you can soak up the jus left in the small cast iron skillet with the bread! Awesome! The bartender was gracious and allowed us to split the "El Presidente" which was also really good. I would recommend this cool spot in a beautiful downtown historic building. Really enjoyable spot."

"Raven & Rose is very welcoming, the service is excellent. My friend and I ate dinner because of all the things she cannot eat. Our waitress checked to make sure the food was appropriate for her. We had a lovely meal. I will recommend Raven & Rose to friends and associates.The energy was very upbeat. I do not drink alcohol so I cannot say about that. The historical building is beautiful. I will suggest having the farm egg and wild greens salad though it is amazing."

"The place was good, but the food was not for my palate. Honestly, there were not a lot of vegetarian options so I ended up with a side green salad and roasted brussel sprouts. It was tasty, but I probably wouldn't go there for dinner on my own accord. While the food was not really for me, the service and ambience were excellent. The waitress was more than kind especially since we got so busy talking about the history of the building that we completely forgot to look at the menus. The bar scene and happy hour are really fantastic too"

"We loved Raven & Rose -- And so, apparently, do a lot of other people: already at 5:30 on a Saturday night, it was jammed. The menu is creative; we tried a large number of dishes, and found everything perfectly done. I'll come back for the mussels alone. But also excellent are the steak tartare, nettle soup, pork pate and small pasta dish. I thought the food prices were very reasonable. Two people can have a delicious (and filling) evening here for around $100. We had plenty of attention from the servers, courses were properly paced, and I love the upscale decor. This wonderful renovated carriage house is worth experiencing, and you are sure to enjoy the welcoming luxury of both the ambience and the food."

"Its nice to have another good restaurant in this neighborhood, especially when they open for lunch as there aren't many good places for business lunches at our end of downtown. The nettle soup was amazing, the ham and cheese skillet sandwich was good but not that special and I didn't like the brussels at all, it looked like they'd been roasted and then ruined when something was added that made them too soggy and brough out the bitterness - I'm sure that isn't their intent. Service was very good. Regardless of this I'll go back!"

"This place really nails the upscale dining feel - great ambiance and impeccable service. Really a beautiful space. The food was also very good, although overall I don't know if I'll be back simply for the value factor. Food is good but not GREAT, and for the price I feel there are other places you can dine with the same upscale feel and, in all honestly, more delicious food.
We had the rabbit two ways and the steelhead - both were very yummy, but neither very memorable. What WAS memorable was the overall experience - great seats at the chef's table, complimentary sparkling water, a compliments of the chef amouse bouche - we really appreciated those special touches."

"We had a great dinner, seated at the chef's table, which was an excellent vantage point to see the happenings in the kitchen. We shared the bread/cracker plate, which was good but a touch more salt would have been nice. We had the short ribs, which was melt-in-your-mouth wonderful, and the rabbit prepared two ways. The rabbit was served with creamed kale and a buttermilk biscuit, both delicious.
The butterscotch pudding, which was light and airy, was a perfect end to our meal. Our cocktails were excellent, and ambiance was perfect. This is a stellar new use to a beautiful historic building - be sure to check out the bar upstairs as well. We will be back to enjoy this place again!"

"The food was fabulous! I had a roasted squash dish with nuts and pomegranate and arugala(?)...at first description I was not 100% sold, but it was an awesome blend of flavors. It was so good, I made a special point of noting it to the waitress, which I don't normally do.
I thought the prices were a little on the high side and my husband wasn't a huge fan of the floorplan/seating arrangements (tables are really close together) or the chairs (I think they just hit him wrong in the back - I was on a bench)."
