"Service was friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed all of our dishes. Our only suggestion would be if perhaps there were a few more 'salad' type tapas to choose from. There are cooked greens with the flatiron steak and some cooked veg dishes but I think a couple fresh green dressed salad type dishes would be a nice addition"

"My wife and I decided to have a light nice and romantic meal before we went to watch a show last Saturday. We ended up spending $213.00 (tip included) for the experience. Mind you we did spend about $80 on drinks. Overall it was very good other than I expected more for that kind of money. I would probably go back again."

"Very good food choices, preparation and preparation. We really enjoyed almost all we have had. The Arctic Char was eminently forgettable - flat, tasteless. Wine selection was good. Service was efficient and pleasant.
The ambience overall is very good, but the section where we were sitting was overcrowded. The aisle between our table and the bar was too narrow so that I was frequently bumped by incoming patrons and wait-staff. I would only go back if we could be guaranteed a place away from the entrance aisle."

"The food was fantastic, and timed well so we didn't end up with all our tapas at once, but weren't waiting too long between finishing one dish and starting the next. Of the best dishes of the night, the bone marrow soufflé was so flavourful and light, and the s'more dessert was so amazing, it would bring me back to the restaurant again."

"The food was good but not as good as I expected. The lobster nachos, a signature dish, were tasty but too greasy. The calamari were good but not very flavorful, even a slice of lemon on the side would have been nice to add additional flavor. The pork belly wraps were tasty as were the scallops and I would order these again. The dessert list is so-so. We tried the lemon tart which again was good but not great (try Ladybug for a great lemon tart)!"

"My friend and I were in the mood to eat at our recent visit for dinner...but to no avail.
The small sized portions were a real disappointment. Here is a sampling: a 1-inch piece of Brie cheese accompanied by 3 microscopic slices of French bread (for $5), a pat of butter for $1, appetizer olives (consisting of a tiny bowl of pitted black and green miniature olives that looked like they came from the Sobeys olive bar!) and a tapas dish of 2 scallops for $12. My glass of Californian Alias Cabernet was entirely unlike the written description, and exactly the same color as my companion's glass of Pinot.
It is unfortunate, because the ambiance is lovely and the service was great. However, I won't be returning!"

"I was treating my friend who is celiac and my daughter, who has chosen to eat gluten free, to lunch. The Vin Room has many gluten free options but the biggest surprise was that the lunch special, appie, main and dessert was entirely gluten free! And each item was awesome! In addition, our server who also eats gluten free, gave us great information on gluten free choices.
We also love the 2 oz pours. It's so great on so many levels; the diner who just wants a small amount of wine, the diner that wants to try more than one kind of wine without over indulging, the diner who wishes just a little bit more...We will definately be back!"

"I went to The Vin Room with a few friends for lunch and to take advantage of The Big Taste menu. Food was very good especially the meatballs. A couple of minor points the room was quite cool at lunch so bring a sweater. Also I've been twice here for lunch and been disappointed with the coffee. I've tried a latte which was not warm enough and yesterday had the americano which had a strange taste. Come here for the delicious food not the coffee."

"Loved it at vin room west!! The service was excellent!! Our hostess picked out a wine for me that was spot on!!! The food was really good - even my non seafood loving husband loved the arctic char and prawns! So much so he ordered a second round!!Very good meal , lovely wine ( which I purchased at the VR store next door)Only low point was the much touted s'more desert- the graham cracker was a brick!! "This was my first time at Vin Room and it was amazing! The new location in Mission is beautiful, the food was excellent, and the customer service was outstanding. I recommended the restaurant to a friend and they went the next day and had the same great experience. I will definitely be eating at Vin Room in the future and will be recommending it to many more of my friends."

"Great little place with the same great quality of food as prepared by the downtown location; however the noise level was comparatively MUCH higher.
I would still recommend the Vin Room West as a great place to eat, but the romanticism of the downtown location is lost in the noise level of the West location."

"We mostly enjoyed our evening at VinRoom. Food was creative and tasty but the high of the evening was the wine list: it contained a good variety of wines from around the world. This allowed for good food and wine pairing for the tapas we had on the menu.
The only flaw of the evening was the service. Towards the end of the evening, our server became somewhat rude, speaking sharply, not coming to our table for a very long time and making us fell that it was time for us to go, although there were plenty of other customers in the restaurant and we would have liked to order other plates. This made the end of the meal unpleasant - hence our mixed feelings regarding our experience."

"Just unreal. I was out on a date night and I had lost my voice. the somollier, had given me a pen and a piece of paper to write my requests downfor wine had perfectly abided by them. The waitress was attentative but not over bearing. The wines he had chosen for us were a wide variety of body and what not, and had paired with all of the appetizers. We had the white chocolate lemon tart with the Riesling pairing and that was the icing on the cake(no pun intended)
Hats off to Vin Room for giving me and my significant other one of the best dates we had ever been too."

"We have been to the restaurant three times for dinner over the last two months. The ambiance, food and service have been very good to excellent at all times. Our favorites are the Beef Carpaccio, Kennebec Potato Chips, the Lamb Kabobs and the BC Seared Scallops. Truly excellent Tapas in our opinion.
The wine list is wide ranging and not overpriced. We love the extensive "wine by the glass" menu with all the wine being served at the correct temperature and with the perfect type of glass.
The service has been excellent at all times. The staff is knowledgeable about the food menu and the many wines they serve.
We highly recommend the restaurant, a great new addition to this part of the city."
