"Excellent food and atmosphere. Several atmosphere options: quiet romantic, linen table cloths and candles back room; Sports bar atmosphere up front; large open room which is a bit noisier off to the side.

"Enjoyed an excellent lunch. Friendly, attentive service. Wonderful menu with many excellent choices. Salads were crisp and flavored perfectly. Their signature lobster/shrimp ravioli in butter champagne sauce with caviar was over the top. The fried oysters in a pasta dish with pancetta were exceptional. All pastas were made fresh and were cooked perfectly. Will definitely return on our next trip to New Orleans!"

"Service was a little slow. The couple next to us were getting thier entres for free becuase thier order had been lost. Not sure if that was a kitchen or wait staff problem. Overall, it was a nice dinner. The bench seats were lower than normal height, which made the person sitting in them seem much smaller than they were. The pork tenderloin was excellent."

"The lenten prix fixe was a good value, and very delicious overall. The seafood in the cioppino was excellent, but the broth was bland and didn't really tie it together, leaving it just short of truly memorable. One whole area (the banquette)of our dining room was virtually abandoned by the wait staff, which was really the only downside to an otherwise pleasant evening."

"Food was very good...small, but interesting menu. The service was erratic. Hated our table...had reservations for weeks but somehow managed to be put right by the door...not a desirable location...right in the traffic pattern of people coming and going.. We were five so I didn't ask to be moved as there was obviously no other table available. I think most disconcerting was how noisy the restaurant was...we found ourselves hollering across the table. Again, the food was delicious...but that alone does not make a nice evening."

"The highlights were the rustic Italian bistro decor and the friendly staff. The food was good but average, particulary the desserts, which were underwhelming. The description of the Gulf shrimp entree did not make it clear that one would have to use one's hands to eat it and the server apologized for not bringing that to my attention. "Weekday dining is always risky with the best staff usually kept for the weekends, but this was not the case at Bacco's. We enjoyed the efforts of both a wonderful wait and kitchen staff. We sampled two appetizers, two entrees and one side dish and each was prepared and presented perfectly and in a timely manner that was neither rushed or delayed. The highlights of the meal included the fettuccine with black truffles and the Bacco Shrimp which are outstanding. I would strongly suggest this restaurant."

"We were in NOLA for just two evenings as we travelled from North Carolina to Phoenix, AZ. We dined at Bacco on New Year's Eve '09. Wonderful, courteous staff that promptly seated us in the back dining area. My husband and I both enjoyed our meal of filet mignon with crab. "In all fairness, our first visit to Bacco was New Year's Eve so the menu was limited and the noise level (hey, the booze was flowing and it WAS New Year's Eve in N.O.) made conversation nearly impossible. People watching was good, we experienced very good service and our food was good and presented well. We'll try it again but not on a special event night so we can give them a fair shot at wow-ing us."

"Bacco is an excellent choice if you enjoy the fine dining experience at a reasonable price. "I was disappointed by the pretentiousness of the front desk staff. His first comment was not welcoming and he assumed my party did not have a reservation and made no apology for his blunder stating that they were no accepting walk-ins.

I was disappointed by the extremely long wait for the entree. The appertizers were brought out promptly however the entree came out 45 min later. No explanation was given for the long wait. At the time, the restaurant was not full and had several empty tables. The food was acceptable but my expectations for a unique experience from a Brennan restaurant we not met. There are other restaurants in New Orleans that offer less attitude, better food and attention to detail."

kid doing seating was clueless. He seated kid in t-shirt/jeans next to us.

"We were in a quieter room which was nice for a romantic dinner. Our waiter Joe was probably new but he did a fairly good job. The entrees were excellent! Fortunately I mentioned while making he reservation that I wanted the truffle dinner and I'm glad I did since they saved us the last one. That was awesome and much appreciated!"

"Let me preface this review by saying that we normally enjoy this restaurant.
We came for the Truffle Festival. The truffle dishes that I ordered ranged from delicious and creative (truffled egg) to underwhelming and unattractive (Truffle Fettuccine--just soaking in oil).

The oyster and artichoke soup was watery and lacked any discernible oysters. The filet dish was delicious as usual, albeit too cool (the truffle butter on top didn't melt).

I wouldn't get the bread pudding again--not bad, but not great and a bit tough.

We had two waiters who were nice but were a bit oblivious & not well-versed on the menu items.

What we did love was eating in the small back room. What a nice change from the usual noise in the other dining"

"The waitresses, host, tables, ambience was great. We got to sit by the window overlooking Chartres Street. My daughter's shrimp was wonderful, but I got the pasta/truffle dinner, and the pasta was not cooked well: dry and stuck together. Certainly wasn't worth the price, even though I was eager to try the truffles, having never had them before. All else good!"

"bacco was great. We went for the white truffle festival. We were disappointed to learn that they were so low on the truffles (due to popularity) that we couldn't get the truffle enu. We did get it on one dish, and it was amazing. All of the other food was also very flavorful, and the wine and dessert were great. I recommend!!!!"

"Food was outstanding. They featured a special truffle menu so I had a truffle pomegenate honey salad that was very tasty and my entree was pasta that was perfectly cooked al dente with white truffle shavings. The other people at my people loved their meals as well. Ambiance is elegant.

My only complaint was that our waiter seemed to be a 'rookie' and was not very attentive. Our water glasses did not stay filled, our wine was served late and came out when the appetizers came out and then he brought us the wrong dinner check that belonged to a different table. I would still definitely go back but would make sure not to have the same waiter."

"The service was absolutely wonderful. Our servers Joe and Mark were great. I had friends in from Europe and they were blown away by the food. It was a really nice night. I would definitely recommend BACCO to anyone looking for a nice dining experience!"

"This place was in the W Hotel in the French Quarter. I thought that I couldn't go wrong but I did. The food barely had any flavor and the waitress kept forgetting and dropping things. Now usually I am not that picky but when I am going to pay $75 just for the food then it better be a cut above. It wasn't. We went to a restaurant the next day, paid $20 and were totally blown away by the food and service.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AT THIS PLACE!!!"

"The food was absolutely amazing! I got the ravioli and my husband got the filet. The ravioli was rich in flavor but it was surprisingly light, not heavy like most pasta with cream sauce dishes. My husband said the filet was the best steak he's ever had in his life. Overall all of our food and drinks were fantastic! We would recommend this restaurant to everyone, especially for a romantic evening."

"Great restaurant with a limited menu - be sure to review it online to be sure you'll find something you'll like. There was only one special.

The food was great and presented well. We had two servers. There seemed to be some lack in coordination between them in bringing drink and dinner in coordination. The water glasses were often empty and not refilled unless asked. I specifically asked for a certain glass of wine to be brought with the entree. I had to remind them twice to bring it. I also asked for an after dinner drink, it was finally brought well after dessert was finished so I sent it back. Otherwise the servers were very pleasant and seemed to mean well."
