"I've been here multiple times -- the food is always out of this world (don't miss out on the Lobster BLT and the oysters are some of the best in the city) and the mood, whether it's low key or a very busy night, is always warm, inviting and fun. This is my favorite restaurant in the area..... Go!"

"My husband and I have been twice to L&W and we will return many times more. We initially went for the oysters but discovered all te other wonderful dishes on the menu. "I wanted to go back to L&W since I left after my first dinner. I went back and I don't think my crush has blinded me to any imperfections - it's a place to go and relax and have some good food. "Oyster house, right? Sure they have em, and they're good but...the rest of the menu disappoints. No fish. Really. You can have a lobster blt (for dinner?) or a shrimp po boy (for dinner?) or beef ribs. The mussels in red sauce were bland and got boring after the third one. Overall this is a mediocre roadside lunch spot somewhere in Maine or on Cape Cod tucked into an expensive Manhattan restaurant. Not worth it. Check the menu though -- maybe it's for you but I didn't think it a worthy seafood place."

"This was our second visit and our first experience was so positive we had high hopes. It is hard to find fault with anything. Went with a group of 8 and had the perfect table to allow us to talk and relax while super food and wine kept coming. Staff was helpful but not intrusive and the the food was great from start to finish. Not just seafood so if someone doesn't like fish, no worries. Simple but perfectly matched wine list that is priced well. This is one of those places that can easily go overlooked in Manhattan so just go and you'll find your self sending friend there after you do. A great little place (my wife loves the pop-up clothing store a few doors down that appears to keep popping up)."

Started with baked clams, ahi tuna ranchers, and a delicious yellowtail appetizer that was on the menu that night. Appetizers are not large so order a few to share. Then we both had the lobster blt, awesome! Shared a really good (and reasonable) bottle of wine, and of course, had to have a decadent chocolate dessert -- for the birthday candle alone!"

"I love this restaurant and hope to see it flourish. Their market fish/catch of the day always leaves me perfectly satisfied. Jefferson, our waiter is informative, charming and professional. The garnish and presentations are super cute as is the cheerful decor. Plus the rocky road ice cream on the brownie is amazing, and I've never even liked chocolate ice cream! This place is fun and one of my new favorite NYC spots. Oh, and the Dr. Seuss and crossword wallpaper is a creative conversation starter."

"I went for dinner and although the food was good, I think I would stick to happy hour at the bar next time. The place is really cute and makes you feel like you're in a little chic shack on the beach. I went when it first opened so although the servers were very friendly, it was slow and it took too much time in between courses. "L&W is fun fun fun! The staff is so awesome here, they treated us like royalty - from memorizing our names to a free shot for the friend whose white jeans got wine on them! The oysters were divine - the Bras D'Or in particular, buttery and delicious. The Octopus was remarkable - it just melted in your mouth. But really - service service service. Even when I called to make a reservation change the morning of - Eric had me laughing so hard...I couldn't wait to get there. Special Mention - thank you Antonio and Javier!"

"Sitting east of the Ace Hotel hot spots The Breslin and John Dory Oyster Bar lies the hidden up and coming L&W Oyster Bar. Strong high quality flavors and a casual atmosphere bring this spot to life and make it a place to check out. With magnet boards and simple design, this is a place where you can bring small groups and dates for good oysters, baked clams and other creative dishes like lobster BLTs at reasonable prices. The bar boasts fine cocktails and a decent wine list amidst a relaxed atmosphere. Definitely a spot to return to in the Gramercy/Flatiron area."

"Service was mediocre from our server. Other servers stepped in and were great.Host is very nice. We had to wait a long time to get a drink order and waited over 30 min between our appetizer and main course. Don't know if this is because our server was slow/ in the weeds or if it was the kitchen."

"Our first time there and it was for lunch. The food was just great! We had a dozen oysters all varied and all very fresh. The crabcakes and ceaser salad with brussel sprouts were off the charts. Going back very soon."

"love everything about the place but overpriced for what you get.. Tiny oysters for $3 doesnt make sense.. There are ample $1 oyster happy hours with much bigger oysters.. IE- Mermaid Bar, Joes, Fulton, etc.. The brussel sprout dish was awesome but it was about $13 for what may have been 5-6 whole sprouts.. This is a tough one.. I barely ate and with a $40 bottle of wine, dinner for 2 was almost $140.00, and I left really hungry"

"Tried oysters here for the first time here and I loved them! The crudo and the scallop hash were also delicious. Our server came by multiple times, but often forgot to refill my water glass. That was the only downside. Everything else was great. I'd definitely go back."
