"We went to Taste with our teenagers to celebrate Mother's Day on Saturday night. Taste was out of pizza, creme brulee, and cheesecake. The service was really slow. The two appetizers we tried were good. The burgers weren't bad but not stellar. The flan was good. The waitress was indifferent and incredibly slow at times although the place was far from full. I guess this was an off weekend."

"This was our 4th time to Taste. 2 times excellent and now 2 times a disaster. Upon arrival we were seated at a table where the sun was shining so brightly into our faces we eventually asked to be move and my look was directly into the doorless storage area. We didn't receive our appitizers 30 seconds when our main course arrived. Since both were servrd hot our entrees got cold. Our server was never around to bring our second drinks and we finally asked another waiter to bring them over. We were in and out in less than 50 minutes. Not worth a $100 plus dinner."

"This was our return trip to "Pleasantville". Our first trip, we sat outside on the patio, this time we were seated on the inside of the restaurant. The food IS amazing....no matter where you sit!! We have not ordered an entrée yet....we can't seem to get past the "small plates"!! We have ordered the cheese platter twice now....and no regrets!! We have had the shrimp and grits and the scallops....and any of the pork belly dishes are out of this world!! (The pizzas are tasty too!) The menu is always evolving....so it is hard to know what will be offered....but trust me....you won't be disappointed. Unfortunately....we have never had room for dessert....so, we can't comment on that!!"

"Food was overpriced. Portion of tuna app were small and at $13 i would never order it again. With a decent crowd the place is so loud that you cannot have a conversation and this is very annoying while trying to dine with wine and fine food. Music pulsates in the background with only the bass audible. Salads were good, as were several appetizers. Waitress brought out main course before our apps were finished: unforgivable. Good idea, good location, but we will not go back."

"My wife and I found Taste accidentally, while looking for a good lunch spot. The lunch was tremendous, as was the service (Terrel (sp)) was outstanding. We met the owner and very much enjoyed his company. We liked it so much that we made dinner reservations to celebrate our third anniversary. As we expected, just about everything was good except the crowd noise and my pork roast was a tad on the tough side - not enough to complain, but it could have been more tender. Certainly we will return for both lunch and dinner. I would (and have) recommend it to anyone."

"This was my third visit to Taste, second that week. They have never let me down. I did not order the Carolina Greens this time, but I did the previous two times. I never liked collard greens until I had theirs. The freshness and quality of their local and regional food makes other places taste like chain food. I will continue to go for the service, ambiance and most of all food. Be sure to go and make sure you have a reservation."

"Everything about Taste is unique to this area. The owner is almost always present on weekends and engages the customers as they dine. The dining area is small and has the feel of a chique cafe. The service is way above average for this area. The food is the Chef's interpretation of Southern cuisine and comfort food with a gourmet twist. Everything we have tried we have thoroughly enjoyed. "We decided to give Taste a shot for date night and we were not disappointed. It's a little off the beaten path which is nice. Nestled in a quiet neighborhood it seems to be a place that would be great for dining outside on a nice night. Our service was great and the menu and wine list allowed us to eat our way through the menu at our own pace. Will definitely be making a return trip across the river."

"One of the best restaurants in the Augusta area! LOVED the ambiance (very cozy, elegant, yet inviting, & nice artwork/lighting) and absolutely LOVED the food/drinks! We tried a multitude of the small plates and pizzas (bianca & umami - yum!) ... all the ingredients were so fresh, the flavor combinations were absolutely delicious, and the presentation of each meal was beautiful. And a great selection of wines/beers to complement the food. And cannot say enough about the attentive service/staff (they were able to cater all the meals to our dietary restrictions) - thank you for an excellent dining experience!

"TASTE is one of the finest restaurants in the area, by far. Service was superlative on my visit. Kudos to our waiter, Jacob. The food was excellent. We had a pickle plate for our starter and chicken and Wagyu Ribs for entrees. First class all the way. For dessert, pave with hints of mascarpone and hazelnut filled the bill. I cannot recomend TASTE highly enough."
