Mi Casa by Jose Andres - Dorado Beach a Ritz-Carlton Reserve
Inspired by the storied past of this unique location at Dorado Beach, José Andrés introduces Mi Casa. Paying homage to the property’s original plantation home, Su Casa, José welcomes guests into a relaxed, luxurious setting, where traditional flavors are transformed by modern presentations.
At Mi Casa, José also re-imagines fine dining, creating an interactive, engaging atmosphere. A kitchen display bar and understated, elegant cocktail service help to break down the barriers of formal dining service. José’s goal is that guests are well-looked after and feel very much at home, as you would in José’s casa. Dishes and drinks will be prepared right before you. Service will be very personal and attentive, but always professional.
Serving breakfast and dinner daily, Mi Casa will transform throughout the day from breezy and bright in the morning, to casual elegance in the evenings.

"One of the most memorable dining experiences of my life. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment at Mi Casa. While Jose Andres is not there to personally oversee the operation, I felt that we were in capable and talented hands. The food was creative, flavorful and plentiful for our group of six. We did not even look at the menu and asked our capable waiter to "just take care of us" which he did and we were not disappointed. While the price tag is hefty, I must say that I am already dreaming about my return visit. Thank you team "Mi Casa" you did your boss proud."

"The restaurant is expensive, but the value you obtained from the service, food & ambient, deserve the money you invested. Your inversion is in feeling good time, pampering service and imaginative cuisine. Chef Jose Andres, get out of the box, changing traditionally dish presentation (check the spanish omelette, caesar salad, guavate pork and "carne guisada")) to mention some examples. The place is woderfull for dinner at 6:00 PM, when the sunset start showing its splendor. The majority of the wines are over the $100.00 dollars, but the wine list is extensive and well balanced. The receiving area and bar invited you to stay. Thanks!"

"Mi Casa is not a good restaurant. The food is like a bad imitation of puertorrican dishes. The pork plates are cooked without any condiments so the final product is tasteless, you can get better pork anywhere in PR. Even the Spanish were weak, the piquillos were also flavorless. I think they should train better the chefs since I went to Jaleo and it was a lot better, also they should concentrate on spanish tapas. Service was very good and the locale was ok, too modern for my taste."

"We traveled an hour from our resort south of San Juan and this was one of the most memorable meals we ever experienced . The location and beauty of the resort, scenic view, and outstanding service from the first moment, to the exquisitely prepared food, and Ivania the supervisor who made our 20th Anniversary dinner surreal with extra special touches that are hard to explain. Be prepared, it is expensive, but you get what you pay for in this life and for this experience, it was a bargain! Sitting outside overlooking the ocean during sundown didn't hurt! From chicken croquetas to the Potato + Egg and Guavate Style Pork and Spiny Lobster through dessert, one dish was more amazing than the next! But, Ivania, made it all even more special."

"Tasting menu had some great finds. Others fell short even though they sounded really good. Overall we expected more. Guavate pork dish and chicken croquettes and ceviche were outstanding. We would have been better off listening to waitresse's specific recommendations from menu as opposed to selecting tasting menu. We are looking forward to doing that soon."

"The food and ambience are great and the service is excellent. Located in the Ritz-Carlton Resort, it is 6-star quality. Make sure to ask for the wine recommendation of the night. If you do not live in the area and are not sure when you'll be back, the tasting menu is the way to go. Like most restaurants in Dorado, however, be prepared to spend at least 3 hours at dinner."

"Words cannot express our amazing experience. We are fond of Jose Andres' restaurants and tapas style, and wanted to share it with our four kids (ages 9-23) while we were in Puerto Rico on our vacation. Rather than turn up their noses on the children, they absolutely embraced it and indulged us from the very beginning to the very end. The coquitos were AMAZING a la Andres' style, and the staff absolutely pandered to the kids-we even got a tour of the kitchen. In addition to the great service, the food was absolutely outstanding. I cannot say enough good things about Mi Casa!"

"Our experience at Mi Casa was incredible. The food was immaculately prepared and the service was outstanding. If you are lucky enough to have Antonio as your waiter, trust us, you will have an unforgettable experience. Everything that we ate was delicious. "This restaurant experience was outstanding. While it is difficult to predict what you will receive on your plate as compared to the description, everything is sure to exceed your expectations. Our teenagers were at first tentative about the adventurous offerings but loved everything they tried. So much fun to experiment with multiple tapas offerings. Especially recommend the chicken croquettes, the foie gras soup, the caesar salad and the bocadillos. Chicken entree and lechon entree superb."

"There's a reason this place was nominated for a James Beard two months after they were opened. Jose Andrés did not dissapoint. The restaurant was a little tricky getting to, leave extra travel time if not staying on the Ritz property. Grounds and restaurant are gorgeous. Service is very good and the staff was very accommodating to my gluten sensitivity. I feel like the service will get even better with time and experience with the menu. The majority of the food was exceedingly good and though we didn't absolutely love every dish it was fun to experiment. Tasting menu is available which I would have liked to try but the entire party has to choose that option. Some things are pricey but affordable choices can be made on menus."

"We have been to the restaurant twice. The first time, we had two appetizers which were really good (jamon iberico y las gambas al ajillo con chile). We had as main courses the red snapper and the filete de vaca (supposedly a rib eye). The red snapper was average but to our surprise the "rib eye" was just a filet mignon.We went last Saturday, we had the conch fritters. We had the mallorca with the foie gras, which was good but the piece of foie gras was not enough. Our big disappointment was the shrimp. The waitress told us that the receipe was changed because the guests did not like the spicy. keep the original. The piquillos were very good but the best was the jamon con pan entomatado. Los conos de queso de cabra should be eliminated."
