"Food was great. Its hard to compete these days in this restaurant-heavy neighborhood, but Pound offers a great option for those wanting to go somewhere less crowed with great service and food."

"This restaurant didn't impress me with it's food, but the outdoor patio in the back won me over. The staff was attentive but didn't really know how to recommend wines. I would give it a second chance, but I will not hurry back."

"My boyfriend and I had a decent meal last Friday night at Pound the Hill. Our appetizer, the fried green beans with curry dip, was the best part of the meal. Yummy! However, my boyfriend ordered the fish special and was very disappointed with the size of the piece of fish he got... way too small. Also, I ordered my steak cooked medium and it came out medium well at best (but more like well done). Not sure I will run back for dinner, but would be open to coming back for drinks and to try more small plates or for a quick breakfast on the run for a nutella latte, which was absolutely delicious."

"We stumbled on this restaurant by using the open table app looking for places near our current location. It was rated well and nearly everyone commented in the wine list, so we thought we'd try it. It was a good wine list and the bonus was that Tuesday was half price bottle night! Food and service were excellent. Menu choices we used to decide to try the restaurant were totally changed from what was listed on open table. But a great selection of new items was available. It was charming inside, but not notable from any other place in the neighborhood. There were numerous tables outdoors in a quiet backyard that would've been nice had it not been raining. There were also some seats on the front sidewalk off Penn Ave."

"We had a lovely dinner at Pound the Hill last week. Our group of 7 was seared at the rear if the restaurant in a cozy spot. We ate and talked for a relaxing two hours. It was a very pleasurable experience!"

"Wine was great, food not so much. Top notch service!! Mac n cheese TOO cheesy (are you trying to kill me? haha). Beef tips (way too peppery) could have been served with some rice, what would that cost you, I mean, really."

"What a lovely place to meet friends out for drinks and dinner! Had reservations for Saturday dinner, arrived early for drinks in the bar. We were warmly greeted by all the staff and made to feel like regulars even though this was our first visit. Dinner service was paced perfectly. We ordered a round of appetizers before ordering entrees to determine how much food we'd be getting. The dinner special of the evening was a ravioli dish, but only 1 order left. We included it with our table's appetizers. It was by far everyones favorite dish of the night. We were not a big fan of the gnocchi (either the sweet potato app or brown butter entree) or the bacon app (too greasy). But everyone enjoyed the beef and fish entrees. Thanks a fun night."

"We found Pound the Hill on Open Table and based upon the reviews and the unique menu, we made a reservation. As it is within walking distance of our home we hoped it would be good. We were not disappointed! The food was unique and delicious and the service was terrific. It is a small place and you almost feel like you are having dinner with friends. The wine list is very good and we enjoyed a glass of red wine. We each had a different soup and they were both terrific. Tasty with a little zip. We had the vegetable pot pie and the beef fondue for entrees and they were both wonderful. Something different but excellent. Finally, for dessert, I had a brownie sundae that was to die for. This is a place to which we will often return."
