"We visited Capital Grille for the first time to celebrate my husband's birthday, and could not have asked for a better experience. The food was outstanding, and the wine list was impressive. Our server, Josselyn, was fantastic, and I was very impressed that by simply mentioning my husband's birthday when I made the reservation, both the hostess at the door and our server wished my husband a happy birthday - they even decorated the table with confetti prior to our arrival. I highly recommend the Kona steak, the seabass, and the coconut cream pie - some of the best food I've had in DC."

"Back to Capital Grille to celebrate son's graduation - 4 big boys and one set of parents. A good place for big appetites because there is nothing small on the menu. Service was outstanding, attentive but not cloying, and good wine suggestions at very reasonable prices. Currently, the spring salad with jicama is quite good with interesting (in a good way) flavor combos. Had the veal chop; to my mind fattier than i would have liked, and a little bland, but good nonetheless. A shared side of truffle fries was splendid, crisp, hot, and a hint of truffle flavor, lobster mac n cheese good not great. Desserts, again, good not great. Overall, a really fine evening, good solid food, great service, and a happy feeling overall."

"We cam here to celebrate our fourth anniversary. It was the best dinner experience we've had yet. The service was fantastic, the food was tremendous, and the staff went out of their way to make a special night even more special. You cannot go wrong doing dinner here if it's a special occasion."

"Mother's day with the wife was great. We had a late night dinner due to last minute planning on my part. The Capital Grill was a great way to end the day, a little crowded and loud in the dining room. The food was fantastic, no complaints...really none at all. Bon appétit!"

"I have eaten at the Capital Grille many times. It is one of those standby places that you know you will always have a good meal and service when you want to eat at a white tablecloth restaurant. It is also a good place to dine and be able to hear your what your dining companion is saying. I'm not a fan of the dark decor, but I overlook it for the food and service."

"We went to Washington DC to see our daughter graduate from UMUC in College Park, Maryland. Not only was our table not ready and we had to wait 20 minutes, but the food was not that great either including some peach sorbet that we were sharing. The sorbet tasted horrible and the Executive Chef agreed and they took it off of the menu. The restaurant was busy and we were put back in a corner with a group of 10 people and a table with 2 people. We were assigned one waiter for 16 people. Needless to say things crept along and we did not receive the proper attention for a table that spent over $400."

"We very much enjoyed the dinner and atmosphere- we could hear our conversations without yelling and had a wonderful time with old friends -the service was fantastic and the food was delicious. We arrived after an event at the Newseum, and we had a table in the back part of the dining room. It had a feeling of being private but also had other tables around us to make us feel like part of the restaurant. Very much enjoyed our evening."

"1st time visit on a recommendation by friends. Great atmosphere, though a but crowded in spots. Excellent wine list--we had a great server in Tuffany who quite knowledgable about the menu and made some great recommendations. We had fresh sea bass and a wonderfully cooked steak. We did have the smoked salmon and it was a little saltier than I would have liked, but it was pretty well offset by the dill mayo and pita/chips crackers. The staff really went out of their way to make it a memorable meal and we'll definitely be back. Couldn't have picked a better spot."

"This was our first visit to the Capital Grille and we will truly return. Considering this restaurant is part of the Darden restaurant Group we seriously did not know what to expect when making the reservations. Having visited Season's 52 and Bahama Breeze we thought it might be in between. However it is truly a few steps above. What a wonderful experience and Darden has created a Gem. Our server was totally outstanding, delightful and quite knowledgeable with the menu choices. And the food was absolutely delicious. We highly recommend. However if one is looking for Olive Garden prices they will be disappointed. But it is well worth trying."

"To Whom It May Concern:
I took my mother to Capital Grille (DC) this past Saturday as a "thank you" to her. It was her first time to the restaurant and unfortunately, her meal was not to her satisfaction. She ordered a filet mignon, medium well. However, when her order arrived the filet mignon was well done, and cooked well beyond her expectation. Which was unfortunate because I have frequented Capital Grille in DC, Baltimore and Las Vegas and was certain she would have an enjoyable experience at this establishment, which is why I booked Capital Grille as the place to take her out. The customer service was impeccable (Manuel was wonderful), but because my mother is not used to having to send food back, she will probably not return."

"Ate there during lunch. Got put in a back corner booth. Our server was not very attentive. Our order was brought out wrong so we had to wait for them to correct it. Our beverages glasses weren't refilled as often as we would have liked. It appeared the waiter only had a hand full of tables. What we thought would be an hour lunch ended up being almost two by the time we finally got our bill taken care of. Lacking in customer service unless you are a mover and a shaker. Other places to go with better service."

"I had a trouble for my reservation. I called the restaurant to check my reservation through the site. They said that they did not receive it. Accordingly, I made reservation again over the phone. The day after, I got an email from the site to confirm my first reservation. I called the restaurant to avoid double booking between the reservation through the site and over the phone. Again, they said that they did not receive any reservation from me including my reservation made over the phone one day before! Then I made third reservation..., and went to the restaurant.On the next day, I got an email from the site that I did not show up the restaurant.I do not have any word to say...It is pity that the reservation did not go through smoot"

"I took my girlfriend here for a date night and she loved the service and the food. We were served by an EXCELLENT waiter by the name of Adam Ruderman. He enhanced our night tremendously, was very knowledgable and professional, and also was very friendly and conversational. All great things to say about him and Capital Grille. Would definitely come back because of him."

"Capital Grille was exactly what you would expect (and what other reviewers have mentioned). Both of the steaks we ordered were amazing, the sides (au gratin potatoes and sauteed spinach) were delicious, and the calamari appetizer was some of the best I've ever had. We even received a dessert on the house when we mentioned that it was our anniversary. That was completely unexpected, but a really nice addition to the night. All of the portions were very generous, and there are plenty of wine options that won't break the bank. All in all, this is a great place to go for a really nice dinner from a really professional staff. An added bonus is that you can actually have a conversation at your table because the noise level is low."
