Aloha and welcome to Basil Tomatoes Italian Grille. Here at Basils, we specialize in the rich cuisines of Northern Italy with Italian American influences. We feature fine grilled meats and steaks, the freshest island fish, pastas and seafood specialties of the Mediterranean, as well as Italian American classics like Veal Marsala, Chicken Parmesan and everybody’s favorite, Lasagna! "A guaranteed visit every time we come to Maui. Any thing with tomatoes or a tomatoe base is terrific! The wait staff is delightful and actually remember us even though we only have the privelage of visiting once a year. The house salad which is a caprese salad is fresh and flavorful."

"This was an overall disappointment. My chicken was prepared well but nothing else was. The tomatoe sauce was straight out of a #10 can and my pasta was over cooked. The pasta with clam sauce was flavorless with more over cooked pasta. This kitchen needs some help and quick."

"We've been to Basil Tomatoes on a previous visit to Maui and decided to try it again. We did have an Entertainment coupon which entitled us to one free entree with the purchase of a second entree. You can achieve the same result by taking them up on their 50% off Early Bird dinner deal which means eating a little early, between 5:00 and 6:00pm. Given their prices I suggest you do one or the other. The food was good. I had the herb stuffed pork chop with penne substituted for the mashed poatoes and my wife enjoyed the chicken scarpello. The house salad was fine and the service very good. It's not really a classic Italian restaurant but we did have a good dinner."

"We're from Modesto, CA and we have been coming to Basil Tomatoes for many years. The food has always been consistenly well prepared and the service is excellent. The servers are very helpful with the selection of wines and it's nice that they have a full bar so we can always enjoy a before dinner cocktail. Their Fried Green Tomatoes are always a good substitute for a green salad."

"Basil Tomatoes was a pleasant surprise in that good food, great view and excellent service was packed into a charming older building overlooking the golf course. The early bird special was a terrific bargain with 50%off some pricey entrees . We enjoyed the mixed grill and veal Marsala, and our server Patricia was utterly delightful. Our table was right at the open window section at the back affording us a great view of the golf course and a peek at the ocean at sunset. Would we go again? yep, and we will take friends, too!"

"We were wanting Italian on our last night in Maui and found BTIG through Open Table. We took advantage of the ½ price entree special from 5:00 - 5:30 which seems to be very popular. My wife had the lasagna which we could have easily shared and I had the shrimp and scallop fettucini. We were pleased and the view from the restaurant - while not an ocean view - is great!"

"We've always loved Basil Tomatoes Italian Grille in Maui, we make sure we get there every time we visit. This time we were celebrating a special occasion and our waiter made sure to make it feel like a celebration. He was very attentive but not intrusive. Our meal was delicious as has always been our experience with Basil Tomatoes. An unfriendly waitress, 45 minutes to get the wine (had to ask twice for it), and a horrible Pandora station (I understand this is completely subjective, another couple at the table loved it). ". We each ordered pasta primavera. It was over cooked, with huge chunks of vegetables, that you had to cut to eat, and the sauce was nothing special. Each plate was $28. The Cesar salad was nice, but small for the $12 price tag. We shared a Tiramisu, which was good, but also pricey. We felt ripped off by the coffee shop quality for gourmet prices."

"If you arrive before 5:30 all entree items are half price and use must pay cash. My dinner was one if the best things I have ever eaten. Shrimp and scallops alfredo. Husband got lobster ravioli and raved about how good it was. Their homemade bread was delicious and we used it to mop up the remaining sauce from our plates. Yes, it was that good. Wait staff was very friendly and attentive. Will go back again for sure."

"We went for the early seating special at 5:00 p.m. when entrees are 50% off if you pay with cash. At half off, I thought the prices were reasonable for the quality of the food. At 5:00pm there is quite a rush, so service was a bit slow. The view is fabulous, and the open air environment was very nice."

"We dined twice at Basil Tomatoes during our 2 week stay on Maui. Both times it was a pleasure. The ambiance is very relaxing. There was a very loud party as we entered so we asked to be seated in a quiet location. They did so immediately. The food is great, with a wide variety. The lasagna is a big winner. The tomatoes are home grown and delicious. We definitely will stop back next year when we visit Maui again."
