"Great steak and salad but what was the best part was the Halibut and the Sea Bass. Hard to find places that know how to cook fish in Kansas but Woodfire Grille had it done perfectly.
Andrew was our waiter and he did a super job. He was knowledgable on seasonings used and preparation of the different entrees. He also had nice suggestions on the wine pairings."

"We were so thrilled with Woodfire Grille, we will definitely return. The wine list is extremely impressive when you consider caliber of wine with the prices. They offer the best overall wine deals you will find at a restaurant in Kansas. The food was quite tasty with lovely presentation, however, not the great deal on prices like there is with the wine."

"First experience was great and we'll be back! Both of us had the bacon-wrapped shrimp and it was delish! Our waiter was very helpful describing each selection in the Seafood group once we told him we were leaning toward choosing seafood. I saw several steaks taken to nearby diners and next time will try the Fillet, as it looked awesome. Atmosphere, service, food ~ all A+."

"This was our first visit to the Woodfire Grille and we will definitely be back. The online reservation was easy, although it was hard to find a number to call. We were there early, so we waited in the lounge area. It was comfy and romantic. We were greeted right away and showed the ipad menu, which I've never seen before! I loved the wine selection. We felt very welcomed and the staff was overly friendly. I love the table we were seated at and the restaurant is just beautiful. The crab cakes and chop salad met the high recommendation that our server gave. Liz, our waitress, was wonderful. The steaks were one of the best I've ever had and the presentation of all our food was stunning. We left very satisfied and feeling well taken care of!"

"I'll keep this short and simple. The service was outstanding. Our waiter, Andrew, was polite, thoughtful, and witty. The Ambiance was very good. It almost felt like we were on vacation at a resort. The noise was moderate only because there was a band playing outside and every time the doors opened it was loud. The food was about average. I had high expectations for steaks in the $30-$40 range and $6 baked potatoes. I've definitely had better steaks at cheaper restaurants. Overall though I'd recommend trying Woodfire Grille at least once. It's good for a date night."

"Prices were very high. I have had a more tender and better tasting steak at a national chain restaurant. The best thing served was the free bread. The worlds best fries were not as good as most fast food fries. I would expect for $6 they be fresh cut fries not frozen. We arrived 15 minutes before our reservation and there were not many diners however they made us wait to be seated. The service was good and the server helpful and friendly. Will not be dining here again."

"We have eaten at the Woodfire Grille twice and enjoyed both meals. My impression is that they are aiming for very high quality and almost achieving it. I expect that since this is a new restaurant they will continue to improve. We really loved the bread with 3 toppings. Steaks are the main dish as you would expect in a Grille. I had the small prime rib and enjoyed it. My wife said her pork chop was a little overdone. Our favorite was the WAGYU CARPACCIO served on a salt block. Our waiter told us that they are going to add bananas foster to the menu and we will look forward to that! Our wait people were friendly and efficient."

Hard to find. Because it is in a large casino we parked on the wrong isde of the building and had to walk a ways through the casino to get there. Needed better visibility on the outside of the building and a well lit entrance so you know where to go in."

"My boyfriend and I traveled from Oklahoma City to visit the new Kansas Star and had reservations at the Woodfire Grill.We were a little suprised to find the menu was limited due to the Valentine's Day special but we were pleased with the selection.I felt our waitress was arrogant but seemed professional. We did ask for A1 Steak Sauce and her reply was "You really just need to try your steak first".She never brought the A1.The margarita was horrible...very tart, so much so it caused my jaws to pucker.I informed the waitress but she pretty much blew me off and did not offer to replace it.I did feel the wine selection was too pricey.The food was incredible!!!My compliments to the chefs! The ambiance was very romantic and enjoyable."

"We had a group of 8 in town from out of state for a family funeral. We were not allowed to all dine together and we had to be seated 15 minutes apart. When we pressed the maitre'd about this we were told the decision was "above my pay grade." We asked about putting our tables to get her and we were refused. All this time there was a corner table/booth that could have easily accommodated our group of 8. Extremely poor practices and policies that ruined the experience for us. I will not recommend this restaurant to any group larger than 4."
