La Sosta means the resting place. Located at “the five points” in Hermosa Beach California, we offer our guests exactly that- a place to experience fine Italian food in a familiar way while indulging in the pleasures of authentic tastes and welcoming atmosphere. We cook from our memories and from our hearts.
"The cheese/meat board is to die for! We loved the pasta dishes, but they dont have enough pasta. They are by far the smallest pasta entrees ever (for 30 dollars). The wine list is long and all Italian."

"The ambiance and the service are great. The food price is completely out of range. Most pasta dishes are close to $30 and the entrees are between $40 to over $50. Those are prices of Michelin starred restaurant, not neighborhood Italian, no matter how great they are. We ended up with spending over $300 for 4 people with only two glasses of wine and having only a couple of appetizers we shared and pasta dishes. So we'd recommend this for a romantic dinner for two when you want to splurge, not for a family dinner. The outside of the restaurant doesn't look the part though."

"The atmosphere is the the best in LA. It's candle lighting makes you feel relaxed the moment you enter. It's small and quaint, great for dates, couples, friends eating out... The food is great, very authentic Italian, great wine selection and excellent wait service make it an exceptional dinning experience! PS: don't forget the profiteroles!! So good!!"

"We loved our experience at La Sosta Enoteca. We live just a few blocks away and had passed by many times, but had never had dinner their before. The food was delicious - we had proscuitto and burrata as an anti pasta, shared spaghetti with manilla clams as our primi and each had the sea bass - everything was perfect. The ambiance is simple, chic and romantic. The service was terrific. It was our anniversay and we were extremely happy to have celebrated it together at La Sosta Enoteca."

"When we got there they were running late. They immediately offered outside seating, but we passed on that, and they offered prosecco instead, and even seconds. Once we were seated at the amazing table at the front window, the staff made sure to get our orders out to us fast to make up for lost time. The service was incredible. With the delay in seating, it could of turned into a bad experience, but they instead took the opportunity to make it an incredible one. Thank you!"

"Not sure what the fuss is about, I found this place underwhelming to say the least. For the price there are much better dining experiences just a few minutes away. The only thing outstanding about this restaurant was the attitude. Don't ask for anything other than what's on the menu and I'm not referring to substitutions or food items but the basics, like salt, olive oil, bread, parmesan cheese, etc. and that's only a small part of the problem. I've had the privilege of dining in fine restaurants all over the world so the pomp and pretense at La Sosta Enoteca does not impress me at all!"

"Overall, the food was good but a little over priced for certain selections. The Tagliatelle al vitello, homemade fettuccine with veal sauce, and the rack of lamb were amazing. However, I was disappointed with the scallops I ordered. The cheese and meat plate imported from Italy was very good but as some other reviewer mentioned the truffle honey was the most notable item on the board. The wait staff were on point, came when needed but weren't hovering over your table. The space is small and intimate so at times it can feel cramped when busy. The wine list was very nice and our waiter helped our table pick out great bottle that complimented everyone's dish. Will go back but will consider ordering dinner as small plates and sharing."

"Way too expensive and they don't allow you to bring you own wine which is not smart so therefore we didn't order as much food as we wanted. And they didn't have Barolo by the glass and the least expensive bottle was $110. So for that reason I will not go back. But food was good."

"Great local italian. A bit pricey. Christiano is a fantastic waiter. The service is great but not fast. Be ready to drink good wine and relax. Its a little trip to Italy."

"You can't bring your own bottle of wine, not even with a corkage fee. That is one of the things I love about California. Diners can bring their own wine to accompany their meal either for free, or pay a corkage. Not here! The atmosphere is excellent but it gets loud and often, steamy hot in there. The veggies on the table to start are a good idea. The charcuterie was good but boring. There were no surprise treats that one would expect from an excellent chef. The quality was excellent, but the selection was "local grocery store" except for the truffle-honey. The honey was unique. I like the small portion sizes but for the price, many people would expect more. If you like profiteroles, they are delicious here."

"Service was nearly nonexistant. Bread was stale. Food was just OK. Portions were small and very expensive for what they were. Nice room but would certainly never go back. If I'm paying that kind of money for dinner it'd better be good. It wasn't."

"Pasta was delicious and the service was top notch. The room is quaint and cozy. It was a warm night and the dining room got very warm. The fans were not on and there was not enough ventilation. Fix the ventilation and I'll be back to try another homemade pasta as they were all tempting."

"Great food but service was inexcusably bad. Constantly ignored by our waiter and the entire staff. Service in chain restaurants is better. Will not be back."

"The octopus carpaccio and buffalo mozzarella appetizers were divine, and pasta dishes were wonderful. La Sosta also offers outstanding imported prosciutto. The appetizer and pasta prices are on the high side for all of LA, but they delivered fully on portion size and quality.
We also enjoyed a delightful bottle Italian red wine that smartly blended the earthy flavors of Italy with delicious berry fruit. The waiter's wine recommendation: A+!"

"Was invited to dinner by the head chef for my birthday and am so thankful for that. The restaurant is small and cozy with a phenomenal environment. The servers were polite and attentive without being distracting or interrupting conversations. Head chef Luca was highly involved with each guests meal. And despite a footnote on the menu regarding no major changes would be made to the plates in order to ensure top quality of the food, he catered beautifully to my vegetarian diet. I highly recommend La Sosta for romantic dinners close to the water in Hermosa. Will definitely be returning for more meals:)"

"We were put into this little gem by a local and what a very pleasant surprise. The owners are genuinely Italian and the staff either speak the language or have at least been to Italy. Stepping in to la sosta you feel like you have stepped away from the hussle and bustle and right into a little getaway in notting hill England! The food is I perfect European portions and the daily fresh hand made pasta scrumptious. Try the roe the crunchy texture along with the buttery pasta will surprise you and leave you wanting for more. The only downside was the meat board (absolutely divine) which is not on the price list but will set you back a couple bucks. Enjoy."
