Welcome to Rumi’s Kitchen! The premier Sandy Springs location for Persian Cuisine. Owner and Head Chef Ali Mesghali’s unique and flavorful touch has been wowing patrons for over 20 years. His previous restaurant, Persepolis, was a Sandy Springs favorite.
Rumi’s Kitchen draws influence from the culinary mother of the middle east, Persia, which spanned from the banks of the Nile River in the west to the mountains of Northern India in the east, and from the shores of the Caspian Sea in the north to the deserts of Arabia in the south of the Persian Gulf.

"This was my second visit here. They relocated to a bigger space and I really liked the new decor and set-up. We still had to wait a few minutes even though we had reservations, but they were friendly and tried to get us seated as soon as possible. The food is delicious and the waiter was helpful explaining each dish. It took a while to get the check at the end but overall it was a nice group dinner."

"We took my mom there for her birthday dinner. Everything was just outstanding, from the service to the food. Everything our waiter recommended was delicious. I ordered the shrimp with the arugula salad. It's one of the best dishes I have ever had. Just an all over great dining experience."

"Regardless of what time of day you come this place is always hoppin. It's good, but I feel like that makes the service hit or miss. The strolling manager is always attentive and amazing, but even if you have the same server 5 times, I feel like you will get at least 3 different versions of service. Today was an off day. But the food is always good!"

"When requesting a reservation, I asked for a table away from the noise level. Fortunately, they put us in a room towards the back; consequently, we were able to carry on a conversation. They spent a fortune on remodeling the building, but they left out a ceiling that would absorb the noise."

"The place is awesome. The food is amazing and the energy and enthusiasm of the staff is incredible. The servers work so well together, it is like tightly coreographed stage show. The new space is one of the more beautiful restaurant spaces I have seen in decades. For me, this is, hands down, the best restaurant in Metro Atlanta."

"Rumi's kitchen, which moved from their old, smaller space, is now located in a much larger setting. The menu is great and there is something for everyone. The grilled salmon, enough for two, is outstanding. The grilled shrimp=, which are huge and meaty, are delicious. Make sure you get the rice with the orange peel and almonds. We tried the two eggplant appetizers and were not disappointed. had Baklava dessert on a previous visit and pistachio Ice cream. Both were excellent."

"this is such a wonderful restaurant, and the new digs are a perfect fit for the food! the whole experience top to bottom was excellent, from service to food to atmosphere. if you're hesitant about persian food, don't be and come here. its out of this world. i certainly can't say if its authentic or not, but it is delicious and like nothing else i've ever had. try the yogurt trio as an alternative to the usual hummus, you won't be disappointed and the bread is so addictive. the entrees are out of this world, the flavors are beautiful and fit well together. our server was fantastic! he was patient and answered all of our questions thoroughly. will definitely be back!"

"Made a wonderful feast out of my favorite appetizers. The more people to share the more you can explore. Two of us shared the hummus, eggplant Kask Badenjoon, Shirazi Salad of tomatoes, cucumbers, and parsley wit the Spicy Saffron Chicken Wings. The Baklava was the perfect ending to the meal.
The secret to Rumi's if you want a more serene ambience is to make reservations for early evening, before 7:00 and sit in the smaller back carpeted room. The large room can get quite lively while the smaller gentler room has a more conversation condusive atmosphere.
Service was prompt and gracious and added to the enjoyment of the evening."

"This was our first visit to Rumi's in its new location. I loved the look, but with the concrete floor and open ceiling, the noise level was a problem. I would not go with more than 4, and even then, we left a little hoarse from screaming at each other. The food was consistent as always. Our service was a bit slow and disjointed, but we were adequately attended."

We started with an amazing eggplant appetizer which was the highlight of the meal. I ordered the grilled lamb. Two of the three pieces were delicious, perfectly cooked and seasoned. The third piece was very fatty with very little meat. The lentil rice with raisins was delicious and the perfect pairing with the lamb. My companion had the filet mignon kabobs were were outstanding.
I would not rush back to Rumi's but would go again."

"We had beef soltani, which is a strip of tenderloin and a strip of ground beef. The tenderloin, which I expected to be dry and tough (that has been my experience with kebab meats), was so tender and juicy I could not believe it. Cut with the side of your fork. Seriously. And DELICIOUS! Serviced with lovely light fluffy fragrant rice.
Also had the Rumi's Orange Spice cocktail, which is a delicious combination of bourbon, orange, anise and clove. I wanted another but the table decided on wine. I'll definitely be ordering that again!
We were worried about service based on some yelp reviews, but it turns out our fears were groundless. Our server was a smart, attentive young woman who took great care of us. Going back soon!"

"A recent visit to Rumis kitchen was disappointing, after reading several good reviews. Our table placement was poor. And when we asked to be seated at a different open table, the hostess was less than accommodating. The service was definitely lacking. The food was good but if I go back I would not choose a weekend night for sure."

"This was my first visit to a Persian restaurant. The decor was wonderfully contemporary, all staff very friendly, informative, & accomodating. The food was delicious & I look forward to coming back to try something else. Entree prices were reasonable & wine good! Only negative was the noise level which impacted the ambience."

"Rumi's Kitchen is a standout among the proliferation of Persian restaurants. In fact, it is a standout period. We have visited several times- in small and large groups, Each dish is meticulously prepared and excellent. The shrimp kebob is indescribably good. The lamb dishes are succulent. The service is attentive and friendly, without being obtrusive. So, we've become fans!!"

"We have dined at Rumi's many times both in the old location and in the new location. The restaurant is comfortable and
beautifully decorated and the service is friendly and attentive. The food is however in a word awful. We love Persian food and have tried almost all the Persian restaurants in Atlanta. Rumi's cannot prepare a good Chelo Kebab Sultani which is one of the most basic and traditional Persian dishes. The yogurt appetizer and fresh baked bread were good, but the meal went quickly downhill after that. Rumi's served a Ghormesabzi stew that was frankly burned. The restaurant 's atmosphere is so attractive and the servers so attentive that we want to like this restaurant, but the food is just not good."

"The new location has transformed Rumi's into one of the most vibrant restaurants in Atlanta. The food and service is excellent.

Took my wife and 7 year old daughter for dinner and the whole experience was marvelous.
Although we did not have a reservation on a super busy Saturday night, we were given a table within 5 minutes.
On both occasions we had Bradley serving our table, he is outstanding."
