"I visited Florida from Chicago to see my 92 year old Grandmother and take her to brunch. After a bit of online research, I settled on Catches and am I glad that I did. The service was top-notch and extremely attentive...they made my Grandma truly feel like a valued guest! The food was outstanding and the variety was ridiculous. I only wish I would have saved more room for the plentiful dessert table. Thanks Catches for your part in a memorable afternoon with my Grandma!"

"I was at catches for the Mother's Day brunch, and was looking forward to having prime rib. I love my prim rib rare- medium rare, but the prime rib was cold and raw!! It was like the sliced off a side of the cow!! It was awful and I was disappointed. I went up again to let them know it was raw and they offered me a piece that was supposed to be med rare....and it too was raw! What a shame!"

"The outside of Catches looks like a restaurant in Key West and once inside its a nautical theme which is very nice. Our server was very nice and attentive and the food very, very good. I had the fish and fried shrimp combo which was perfect....nice tasting coating and not greasy. My husband had one of their specials that also was very good, but a bit spicy which the server did warn him of, but he really liked the big flavorful shrimp in it. And the price of 2 dinners (which included our salads), plus 2 glasses of wine was excellent. We have tried several restaurants on the water which have not been very good, but this is an excellent place to go."

"Six of us dined at the Easter Brunch and the food was good, but not exceptional. I was disappointed with the selectioms, given that the price was $30/person and did not include any beverages. We had difficulty getting a good table even though we had reservations for six. Tables for six were available, but they tried to have us sit at a booth for four with two small tables and two chairs attached. Try that at a brunch buffet, not very convienent to get up and down several times to go to the food tables. We were told that the open tables available were "reserved", but obviously not for we six. Anyway, it was a hassle but we did finally get seated. The wait staff was friendly and efficient, the food was good, finally."

"Three of the four dinners at our table were good and one was fair (slow cooked scallops wrapped in bacon). The spareribs were good as was the grouper and the mahi. The three desserts were good but nothing exceptional - they looked better than they tasted. They included baclava and key lime pie and a very chocolate cake with whipped cream on top. We had a great time and will be back."

"We were very pleased with the on line reservation. However, when I looked up your address and phone # in the yellow pages it has you listed as a Tarpon Springs establishment so was not sure whether the phone # in the ad was relevant to your establishment in (New)Port Richy or not. This was not clear at all, enhance using the internet to locate your phone # and that is when I learned I could make reservations on line. Excellent service to provide. I liked the confirmation and also this follow up review. I was also disappointed that we were not told about the happy hour and if we had know that 7 pm was the cut off we would have ordered our second drink before that time."

"The food was excellent! While the waitress was nice, she made mistakes at with our food, and the food at two other tables next to us. The service was also very slow. We arrived at 6:45 and were done at 8:30 sharing one appetizer between four of us and the main meal. No drinking or desert. We will try it again for the food but if the service is the same, we will strike it off the list."

"Since moving to the area, we had passed by Catches several times and everytime I would say, "I want to eat there sometime". Well, with a $5 coupon in my hand, our sometime was Saturday night! Loved everything about the restaurant.....location, food, setting, service..... "The request for a table made with the reservation was not submitted to the restaurant. Food was mediocre and vegetables were drastically undercooked. The manager who came by to ask how the meal was really wasn't interested in hearing anything and when I finally did get him to listen, he made excuses for the problems and didn't even offer so much as a a free five dollar dessert. This was not our first time at this restaurant but will likely be the last."

"We made a reservation for a 50th wedding anniversary dinner. When arriving at the restaurant, was told that they just sat another party at our table that gave our name?! So, we had to wait about 10-15 minutes for another table that they cobbled together out of a booth and a chair! What?! No. We asked for, and received, another table in the back corner. Out of the way and fine except that the AC was blowing right on it. There was a horrendously noisy ceiling fan who's bearings are shot. We received cold soup (twice). Waitress did not come by enough. We had to flag her down repeatedly. Didn't bring my drink when requested. Other food was fair. I won't be going back here."
