The Steakhouse Bar & Grill at Deer Park Villa offers the finest Steaks and Prime Rib in Marin, along with a selection of fresh fish and Italian entrées. Deer Park Villa was established as an Italian dinner house in 1922. The Ghiringhelli family purchased the restaurant in 1937.
The restaurant and four acre garden setting has recently been remodeled. The third and fourth generation is committed to preserving the historic site and bringing an exciting era of dining and events to Marin's most historic family restaurant. Deer Park Villa has long been a premiere destination for family, community and business events. The majestic redwood trees have towered over thousands of weddings.

"Did not have their speciality, steak or prime rib, went for appetizers and drinks.........it was okay
But a beautiful setting amonst the redwood trees......magical.
Had a singer and piano players and felt like we were back in the 80's.....for us over 60 it was fun, but don't really need to experience it again.
Our waitress was excellent and made sure our glasses were filled, etc., very pleasant person."

"We've been here a number of times and have found it to it to be at least quite good, Mother's Day was a different story. Starting with not having cheeses burgers on the kids menu to an appropriately cooked yet dry filet (frozen, I suspect) ending with a "missing" server. In all, reminded me of why not to hit restaurants on peak days like this."

"Everything was excellent. Everyone thought their steak was delicous. The baked potatoes are awesome. There was a wedding going on but you wouldn't know it because they were in the back outside area.
Drinks very unique and very good.
The restaurant is a bit hard to find, I would do the Google maps before you go if you are not familiar with the area. We lost cell phone signal therefore our maps were not working and we passed up the first left turn. Probaby because we were all talking too much!"

"Service was inexcusable. Our party was left without any waitstaff attention for over a half hour. It took two special requests, one to the Maitre D' and a second to the manager to get any attention. Salads were served far ahead ahead of soups. All dishes were unacceptably delayed. Tea order was totally forgotten. Mashed potatoes were served when a baked potato was ordered. The dining experience start to finish took almost three hours. Waiter offered to comp the dessert and then charged for it when overruled by the manager. The manager did give us a bottle of wine but even after the gift and apology, service never improved."

"It's just okay. Menu is not interesting. Stake house restaurants are out of vogue. People i know are not going there because it is heavy on the red meat. Deck is more appealing than dining room. Bar is nice. I'd like to see this restaurant succeed but menu choices not quite there. Had the patrale and it was heavy batter and floating in butter with mash potatoes. Didn't work for me."

"Cool renovated old restaurant in Fairfax nestled amid the redwoods. Comfortable spot with charming, cozy bar. A local hangout. Awesome covered outdoor seating, good in nice weather and bad due to outdoor heat lamps everywhere. Good food but way overpriced. Steaks and meat in general are a better value than the other offerings. Fun place for groups and excellent place for parties and events."

"Our first time here, the food was very good. We were there on a Saturday night and it was very quiet. I think with an over-haul on their service...this could be a real HOT spot...it's a beautiful spot! We will give them another chance."

"Planned on dinner, but found so many tasty items on their Happy Hour menu, that we just grazed. Loved the tuna tartare, on three crispy wontons. Very good and plentiful calamari, also enjoyed the sliders and steak kabobs. I think most expensive item was $6; most were $3.
Nice bar area; enclosed outdoor area had wonderful heaters.
Regular menu had something for everyone. We'll return."
