"The food is great, the wine and cocktail list is as well. However about everything else missed the mark. The food was expensive, the wine pours were below average, and the noise level was through the roof. I can now say I've tried the place because I have been wanting to for a while, but I have no problem in saying it was a one-time trip."

"We really enjoyed our fast and furious brunch here. We were in a hurry so didn't have a ton of time. I was very happy the Croque Madame made it on the menu from Sprout's brunch menu. My husband had the shrimp and grits which was very different but good. we weren't able to try the cocktails but plan to go back to spend more time for brunch and have more than OJ."

"Had a fantastic brunch at Frog N Snail. The mimosa "bottle service" is a must. My only critique is that the entrees were small and my dining partner and I were both still hungry after we finished. Next time I will get an order of one of their pastries to go along with brunch."

"I loved the food and service here. Everyone was friendly and welcoming and they made sure we were taken care of without being annoying. I got the rabbit dumpling hash and it was wonderful! My friends really enjoyed their food, as well. I'm not too particularly fond of the neighborhood, but it was worth the trip, especially since I got a few glances of one of my favorite Top Chef contestants as he was coming in and out of the kitchen ;)"

"This was my second time coming to Frog N' Snail. I went for dinner before and for brunch this time. With both I was sublimely happy. The food is so creative and unexpected and delicious. Its definitely a fun restaurant to go to with friends, whether they live here or are visiting. I'm really looking forward to going back!
Dinner Winner = Duck confit pierogies. OMG.
Unexpected Deliciousness = Millet muffin. Who... how... wah... how can you make it taste that good?! What magic did you work on that little muffin??"

"I'm not a huge brunch person, mostly because most restaurants that do it serve exclusively breakfast items and tend to phone it in. Frog n Snail was a pleasant surprise for brunch, the food was fantastic, and they had an outdoor patty to enjoy the sunshine. Great spot!
One issue: they were out of two menu items. I understand that this happens sometimes, but with only 10-12 items to choose from, that't not the most ideal situation."

"Took my friend here for a birthday brunch and it was absolutely incredible! I was very happy I made a reservation, as the entire place was packed by noon. We were seated right away at what looked like the last available table (so I appreciated that they honored my reservation) and a server was with us quickly. The menu online wasn't totally the same as what we were handed, but I did notice some of the staples. I asked the server for his honest opinion between the shrimp n grits, rabbit dumplings, and the egg bouillbanese... he IMMEDIATELY said shrimp n grits, even though the others were more expensive. Both my friend and I ordered the shrimp n grits and it was to DIE for. Amazingly fresh, savory, comforting and just the right portion size."

"This what we had: starter of frog legs with 2 sauces - alright but the batter could have been a bit lighter (like a tempura) and have a little more flavor to it. I had the beef stroganoff - fantastic!! and my husband had the rabbit pierogies which he said were tasty enough but not outstanding. We got dessert - I had the lemon tarte with hibiscus syrup. It tasted like a standard lemon tarte - nothing special. My husband had the bread pudding which he said was a bit lack luster."

"This was our first visit to Frog 'n Snail and we tried an assortment of six appetizers instead of entrées. Frogs legs, snails, mussels, sweetarte, this and that, and cassoulet. It was a wonderful assortment and too much food which meant we had good snacking the next day. The eponymous dishes were excellent and the other dishes provided a wonderful variety of tastes and textures. We're looking forward to our next visit."

"I have been to Frog N Snail several times and always enjoyed it, but this was definitely the best experience here so far! Two of us had the Brook Trout, and it was a beautiful blending of flavors with a light almond cream sauce and almonds and other vegetables that retained their freshness and individual tastes while blending with the whole dish. Everyone at the table had food that was well above average...a great combination of contemporary French, American and global. The servers were friendly and professional; the ambiance relaxed and easy. Overall a lovely experience!"

"Fabulous. We had dinner on a Wednesday night following a performance of Blue Man Group. We could not have been more happy with our meal. Everything we tasted was wonderful. I am only sorry I did not leave room for dessert. Next time I won't order so many starters, but everything was just delicous. Kids loved it, too! We will be back soon."

"The positives: Our server was excellent, very nice and attentive. The frog legs appetizer was bland. The only flavor came from the dipping sauces which weren't bad. The snail appetizer was pretty good. I enjoyed my duck pierogi entree and my husband liked his deconstructed beef stroganoff. For dessert, we had a mint chocolate mousse/cake. It was very good.
The negatives: Parking in this neighborhood is terrible. It's great if you live nearby because you can just walk over. I didn't care for the look of the restaurant. It looks like a converted diner and doesn't have any character or charm.
Having said that, I don't go to restaurants for the decor. I go for the food and service which were both very good."

"The brunch menu makes it hard to make a choice. There were 4 or 5 things that looked especially good. We'll need to return often to taste them all. The homemade sausage in the "Skillet No Skillet" is soooo good. The only disappointment was the Lithuanian Bacon Buns starter - I've had them homemade by a friend's Lithuanian Mom. These were dry - over baked and the bacon inside was dry. Everything else we had was delicious, and the service was timely, relaxed, friendly and efficient."

"This place was definitely nice. We had the black truffle dumplings that were savory and surprisingly light. The lobster bisque which had spicy shrimp and crispy pot on top, the only thing lacking here was the actual lobster (there was none to be found). We also had the kitchen sink cassoulet which is found in the "put an egg on top" section of the menu, how can you go wrong here it was outstanding! The duck and chicken and pork were all cooked perfectly and the flavors mixed together so well. We will go back again for sure."

"We went for a late dinner (9:30) when my cousin was visiting from NYC. We were some of the only people in the restaurant because I think they were trying to close up. That being said, the food was EXCELLENT. The truffle dumplings were melt in your mouth, homey and fantastic. I had the pork tenderloin sandwich, which was a HUGE piece of pork on a bun stuffed with "Iowa-style maid-rite" ground beef. I'd never had a maid-rite sandwich before but I absolutely loved this. It was like a surprise when I finally made it to the middle of the sandwich. My roommate had the beef stroganoff which was refined and tasty as well. The waitstaff was really nice, even though we could tell we were preventing them from closing down for the night!"

"This was our 4th visit and the 1st time we were disappointed. We brought a friend in the hopes he would love the place as much as we do.
We had been raving about the Hawkeye which we loved the 1st time we tried it. It was dry and overcooked with little to no sauce. Our server disappeared. She never asked if we wanted another drink or anything for that matter. Our guest wanted coffee but we could not get her attention. When the chef stopped by to see how everything was we told him we needed our absent server to get some coffee. He got someone to bring coffee and we never saw our server again. We were embarrassed for the chef, the restaurant, and ourselves having brought a friend to this "wonderful" spot."

"I really wanted to like this place. I have eaten at Sprout (Dale L's other restaurant) and that place is fantastic. However, Frog and Snail is meh. Not terrible...just not memorable. We went for the all you can eat mussels on Thursday night. You get mussels and fries. The mussels were a nice size but were a tad fishy tasting. The broth was okay but not very flavorful. The fries were good. We ended by sharing a slice of chocolate cake with carmel and potato chips. Well, that is exactly what it was. A bland chocolate cake slice with carmel sauce over it and a few potato chips on top. I would not recommend this place because for what you end up spending, you can have a fantastic meal elsewhere."

"Went on a weeknight when it wasn't so busy (couldn't get reservations for a Saturday night) - everything was great. Very cozy, modern looking inside. Not a typical bar in terms of liquors - but the drinks they offer are amazing. Bartender was awesome and very nice. As for dinner - the mussels were hands down best I've ever had (along with others in my party). And the steak and salmon dishes were excellent. Probably can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Definitely want to go back."
