"Diners only go to Buca with the intent to share food. The restaurant takes the term "family-style dining" seriously. Fortunately, they also take food preparation seriously. I have tried more than a dozen different menu items, including appetizers, salads, pasta and desserts, and I have never had anything that was even mediocre. Everything is delicious. The portions are big enough that a "small" item can be easily shared among three people even though it sounds unlikely. The ambience is charming, too. Plus, the photographs covering the walls are really quite funny. They take their food seriously, but not their decor. P.S. "Not a family fiendly place. We waited more than 30 minutes to be seated and that was with reservations. The extra wait time with kids meant that before dinner wasover they were more than ready to leave. The birthday portion of the evening for my 7 year old granddaughter was very much an after thought by the wait staff. All in all, a rather expensive dinner, and very little special birthday dinner experience."

"Emily was very helpful in pre ordering the menu for 9. However, it was my son's 15th birthday. My understanding was that his name would go on printed menus. There was no mention of his birthday or any printed menus. We were given the usual menus but didn't need them. 2 other groups near us were celebrating birthdays, obviousness noted on the tables and servers singing,etc. apparently, Emily or someone else dropped the ball on the whole birthday part and the menus. disappointing but seemed a little late to mention once we were there. Bartender was our server but couldn't see us from the bar. He should not be assigned tables outside of the bar. He got busy in the bar which would seem predictable."

"I went in there to celebrate me getting a new job with my husband this time around. I was pleasantly surprised when the waiter, named Adam, showed up at the table with a big card that was signed by the wait staff!! I couldn't believe it! I'd NEVER had that kind of thing happen to me before and it made the meal even more memorable for me personally! Our food even tasted better than normal, and we got the apple Gorgonzola salad, with the pasta that had fruit in the name (that I can't remember its exact name offhand at the present time.) I was extremely pleased with the service, the food, the card and the drinks. Even my husband said that he'd go back to this Buca for his birthday later on this year, since they were THIS awesome tonight!"

"Sat at the kitchen table. While it was noisy due to how busy the kitchen was, it was also fun. Got to see so many dishes and helped provide items to try for the next visit. Also, our food couldn't have gotten to us faster. It came up and the chef turned around and put it on the table. As usual, there was an overabundance of food. Bring a large group or plan on a lot of leftovers (which are good the next day). All-in-all it was a great time."

"Horrible service, not only did the waiter spill an entire beer on two people at our table but he continued to tell us he would be picked up for DUI for Smelling like beer. Really..... You dumped and entire tall beer on two people and you are concerned with yourself. We will not return to the Buca in Florence. Second time there service has been awful both times. We will stick with Rookwood."

"Our overall experience was not very good. We had a waiter who was not very attentive. We ordered a Cesar Salad that had very little salad dressing on it. When we asked for more dressing we were told that it would be an extra $2.00! I have never been to a restaurant that charges EXTRA for salad dressing. Especially since the salad was $12.00 to begin with. When we asked for bread, we got some: four slices (there were four of us there.) We were told that the bread is complimentary, but you have to ask for it. We did not know about that, so it would have been nice to have been told that before we got our meals. Needless to say, we will not be returning any time soon."

"Price wise, Buca on par with Maggianos, CheeseC. Factory etc. Entire menu is ala cart so it tends to be pricier than Carabbas where a side dish and salad are included with most of the dinner pastas on the menu. I have found service and consistancy with quality however to be closer in comparison to a Golden Correll or other buffet type of restaurant. Last visit there was on a weeknight, not very crowded. I had a reservation, many tables were empty, yet we still had to wait about 15 minutes. After being seating 10 minutes passed with no waiter at the table. Someone finally noticed we still had menus and offered to take a drink order. For a weeknight that was not busy, they seemed to be struggling with staff. Food was cold and undercooked."

"Bucca di Beppo is worth going to. The food is amazing, the service is awsome. This restaurant has the fastest turn over I have ever seen. My boyfriend and I have been twice now, the first time we were seated, had eaten, and paid check in 30 minutes. WOW, is what we thought. The second time we went was a little longer, but only by maybe 10 minutes. The wine list is amazing, and the ambiance is different, but it definitely gives you something to look at. Every room has a different theme, we have been in two of the rooms, but we cannot wait to see more. My boyfriend and I have decided that Bucca di Beppo is our restaurant, for every occasion."

"From the time we walked into the restautant, to the time we left, everyone at Buca Di Beppo went out of their way to make sure our experience was as enjoyable one. I really like how the staff makes an effort to talk to the kids when they are celebrating their birthdays. The food was great. My husband especially enjoyed the veal entree."

"The pasta was raw, flavor was average. For four people we were served two slices of bread and had one saucer of dip. My daughter got pasta and had a meatball added. She received literally 1/3 to 1/2 of a meatball. My wife's food was watery and pasty. She couldn't eat more than a few bites. Server was good at refilling drinks. We was so disappointed that we didn't finish our meals. I paid and we left."

"The restaurant was practically empty but the service was ok. The waitress seemed not really interested in us, because we were using a coupon for 4 for $40 from the restaurant. There was a large party next to us, which the waitress wasn't working with, but seemed to keep distracting the waitress. Our food was fine and the restaurant itself was clean, but that waitress seemed really distracted with something else. "I learned my lesson to make a reservation to come on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday evening. I made one Friday for Saturday and was seated quickly. The table I was sat at was through a maze of people and had a difficult time trying to get through to my seat. I liked the restaurant this was my first time dining there. The prices were not what I was expecting and was SO glad I had a coupon and joined the e-club. If I hadn't I would not have been able to afford it. The spaghetti was okay but was not uber impressed with it. I couldn't eat it all and was glad I got the small. The meatballs were delicious. I enjoyed the strawberry fizz cream soda, but was not happy with the price of 3.95 a piece. Next time I will stick with water."

"Buca di Beppo is well know for its family dining. It is a great place to go for big parties. However, this night was just for a couple of couples of friends that just wanted to catch up with each other. Atmosphere was very good, service was great and so was the food. "Our "Open Table" reservation was for 6:00 pm. It was shortly after 6:00 pm that we were seated. Our food didn't get to us until 7:15 pm. My husband actually had to point out to the waitress that the people next to us got there after we did and were done and ready to leave and we hadn't gotten our food yet. No manager came out to ask about the service.

"Being a 2nd generation Italian woman, I am always interested in finding a new Italian restaurant that has authentic Italian food (i.e. sauce!), Italian ambiance, and is presented by a knowledgeable & friendly service (outside of my own kitchen). Although I had heard many good comments about the restaurant from friends, I didn't put much credence into what they said....after all, what did they know about REAL Italian food?....and from a chain restaurant, no less! To say the least, expecting little, i was blown away by the taste and quality of the basics...simple marinara sauce, garlic bread & simple salad dressing....Yes, very tasty...almost like it came from Nana's kitchen!!!! ....and the tiramasu is to die for!...exceeded my expectations!"

"Was very dissappointed. We were looking forward to this since the new location opened at Florence. The host staff was not friendly and seemed very overwhelmed with the number of people trying to check in with reservations. And when I did check in, they didn't actually check me in. I had to ask 3 times to be checked in. Our server didn't ask if we had been there before, if she would have, she would have learned this was our first time and may be she would have explained the menu. Instead she would ask us questions, we would answer and then she would walk away. Will never go back again. For the service and what you get...other restruants are better."
