"The perfect place before a concert with the auditorium just steps away from the restaurant. Small plates are available to fit any to e frame. We enjoyed the halibut with an exquisite sauce. Sitting by the window we watched people heading home on the busy street below. The huge windows give the dining room lovely light on these long evenings."

"We like to eat here before the Seattle Symphony but this time the kitchen had some trouble and our poor waiter had to bear the results. We arrived about 100 minutes before the concert and because the kitchen was so slow, as we were told, we didn't have time for desert.
The fish was overcooked and we had the crab cakes delivered before the salad.
We don't plan on returning. Too bad as it is a wonderful location."

"We use this place every time we have a concert at Benaroya & the slow service has amde us write reviews reflecting that. The last time was so bad we let the restaurant see our review & they contacted us with "lets make a booking for you next concert & we will ensure good service". Well I don't want special service so I said I would book as usual with Opentable for one last try.
MISTAKE - it was just as slow. We hear them constantly apologizing to fellow customers about the wait so we are not the only ones. Also we used to see the same people dining, now we don't so they have given up just like we will do."

"Excellent place for a nice meal before a performance at Benaroya. Portions were small, it's quite pricey, but location and convenience are definitely factors.

Unfortunately, we were only a few minutes early and we were not allowed in to just have a drink while we waited. Not a welcoming introduction, but the meal made up the rudeness."

"A friend and I ate at Measure before the symphony. We split a salad and each had an entree, wine as well.

The salad was greens and seasonal vegetables (of which there were 3 very small bits of carrot). This was an $11 salad, greatly overpriced.

The entree was pea risotto with lamb. The risotto was excellent, but the lamb was mystery meat - could have been beef jerky- just small crispy bites which could not be distinguished as lamb!

I MAY go back, but would be very careful in ordering."

"Unfortunately, the woman at the reception desk was rude to me. I arrived a couple minutes before 5:30. She told me abruptly "we don't open until 5:30" and left me standing there. I asked for a menu to browse. She gave none. Soon, I ordered a glass of wine, which came. I asked if I might be seated at my table. She said nothing. Then a couple entered, she greeted them and seated them immediately! I had to stand up again and ask to be seated at my table. From that point on, all servers were helpful."

"What a wonderful option for dining before a concert at Benaroya! We've only been once but will return. The room is wonderfully calming--lots of windows, very comfortable. Our waiter was very knowledgeable. The food was delicious--especially my partner's 63 degree egg with prosciutto and asparagus and my gnocchi with fava beans and fresh morels. We didn't have time for dessert since our reservations were last minute and on the lat'ish side, but we'll book for an earlier time next time."

"The continually changing menu features creative, seasonal items. We found the fresh halibut and the duck to both be delightful. The menu has limited choices, but they are adequate to satisfy a range of preferences. The wait staff are true professionals, with a pleasant attitude.

While dining here logically pairs with attending one of the many offerings at Benaroya Concert Hall, we recommend it for both the dining experience and the convenience."

"Everything about dining there was really fine--food, service, setting. A minor exception was the dessert, a semi fr3edda, which was not up to the standards set by the rest of the meal. It was too cold, without distinctive attention given to enhancing the marscapone so it was too much like eating a lot of cheese. The addiiton of a apple :slice" as a dressing was tasteful esthetically but didn't add to the food taste. Srill, I would have no trouble going back or recommedning Measure and I wil do both."

"I like the improvements that have been made. I have eaten at the counter when I didn't make reservations and that was nice but I really like sitting at the table, it is really very nice. I enjoyed the food selections and appreciate accommodating my food allergies. It's rare that you can get a really good tasting meal without wheat, sugar, and dairy but your chef did it and did it well. Much improved, the previous servers and hostess were outstanding and the new ones are also."

"Very slow service.
We have been 3 times in the last 2 months. This last visit might be our last if the service doesn't improve.
We arrived just after 6pm and had to rush paying our bill to takes our seats for 8pm. Thats just too long.
Last week the service was so poor we were given a free glass of wine.
This week we again had no time for dessert had to rush them to get the check at the auditorium warning bell with just 5 mins to take our seats.
One last try since we are regulars at the Benayoya but if it doesn't improve we are back at the Brooklyn!"

"The food was varied, some very tasty and some pretty simple and plain. The portions were very small and expensive for what was there. We were both still hungry after ordering salads and a dinner. "We go to Measure on the same evening we have tickets for Symphony. I would guess that others there were doing the same. Symphony starts at 7:30. Although we arrived on time for our 6:15 reservation, our main course did not arrive until well after 7 p.m. This of course rushed us - no dessert - no coffee (the espresso machine was broken) - and we ended up waiting in line (other diners were in the same timing crunch) at the cashiers to pay our bill as we ran to our seats.

This is the second time this year that this has happened to us. It seems to me that the restaurant knows of this time deadline and should make it a priority to be timely. We'll be reluctant to go again. Too bad, we have really enjoyed it when the timing has worked."

"We thought by eating where we were going directly into the symphony that they would be aware of the start time. The entree was a long time coming so we were staring at an empty bread basket. We were rushed to gulp down the delicious dessert and the bells to go in to the program were ringing when the bill was presented. Too much rush at the end to have time to go to the rest room.

"For a meal before the concert, I suggest you consider Measure. The food is very good, albeit the menu is limited due to the limited facilities available. Also the wine list is not extensive, but the wines available are exceptional and priced reasonably for the quality.

I have found it a very relaxing and enjoyable start to my evening at the concert. I have not been disappointed."

"This is our second visit and it seems each time is better. We have very good service this time. The food is also much better and very well presented. Ingredients are fresh including the fish. We love to be able to relax after dinner before we walk the few step into the concert hall. The only complain my husband has is their wine list. I don't drink, so it is just great for me. We find that we do not have to rush through dinner to attend a concert is very appealing. I am glad that the Symphony board has finally find good use of the Founder's lounge."

"We dined at the Measure prior to the Symphony. We chose this restaurant because we anticipated rainy, windy weather. It worked out perfectly. "Perfect spot for a pre-event Benaroya meal. Get away from the crowds in the public lobby food bars and show your event tickets to enter Benaroya theater lobby, then slip down the western-most hallway to this quiet restaurant which overlooks the NW corner of 2nd Ave. GREAT service and delightful affordable brunch options. My understanding is this room was formerly used as a private reception room for Symphony Founders, but the restaurant has opened to the public to raise more funds for the Symphony. Delightful experience & will definitely return. Reservations are requested, but there were only a few tables occupied pre Sunday matinee for Seattle Pops the day we went."

"I am saddened that I can't write a positive review about Measure at Benaroya Hall. We've eaten there three times and while the service is very friendly and courteous, they need a better chef. We went there for dinner most recently on February 19, 2013 before the Itzhak Perlman recital. We were a party of four and two of us ordered the duck confit and it was so salty that neither of could eat it. I said something and the result was a complimentary desert; I think they should have not charged us for the duck,

The smoked salmon appetizer is very good. The portions of the entrees are very small. The deserts (we had two different ones) are just so-so. Other problems included no decanter for our red wine to breathe. I can't recommend Measure."

"Felt ripped off ! Very limited menue, only 4 entres. Small portions and my lamb dish was nothing more than two very small "pressed" pieces which were quite dry. The best part of the entire meal was the salad and bread. My dessert of chiffon cake was as narroy a piece of cake immaginable and it tasted stale! It was very dry. My wife had trout ahich she said was very good but , again, two very thin and very small pieces. Including the 15% tip, the total bill was $114.00. Outragious !!! based on that experience we will never dine there again and have told my story to friends to discourage them making such a poor restaurant selection."

"If you are attending a performance at Benaroya, Measure should be included in your plans. Ultimate location, convenience, ambiance, etc. fodd is superior. Service is efficient. Waitstaff is knowledgeable and very pleasant. It's a hidden gem, tucked away in the back of the venue, but in a beatiful room with a (low, but above the street) view of downtown Seattle. High marks!!"

"We had a wonderful experience at Measure. The menu is not extensive but it has something for everyone on it. We had the special of the night which was scallops & they were delightful. The chocolate hazelnut tart was also delicious. Service was great! Paul, our server, was good at suggestions when we couldn't decide & he was fun to talk to as well. A wonderful find when attending the symphony."

"We arrived too early but were treated very friendly.
The staff are so nice .
The menu is not hugh but what they do is done very well,
Of course being in the Benaroya makes it the most convenient pre concert venue there is."

"Our first dining experience at Measure. Our friends with whom we attended concert that evening suggested we dine there...and it was convenient since we did not have to go far after dinner to get to concert... Our friends noted that there had been a "redo" since the last time they were there...it was quite pleasant. We ordered braised lamb; the "form it came in - "block like" threw us off momentarily, however, it was very tasty and delicious, we were not disappointed. You could tell some of the wait staff were "new" but they were quite attentive served well. dave g"

"We found the only plus to eating here was the proximity to our evening at the Pops. The service was above aver age, but the food was only so-so.
The salads were on a par with most restaurants. However the lamb dinner left a lot to be desired. The lamb was like processed meat with a stringy texture and little taste. The entire experience was a very over priced disappointment. ."

"Service and location can't be beat. The food left a lot to be desired. The pasta portion was embarrassingly small and didn't pack any punch in flavor. Tasted more like ramen than a good, rich pasta dish. The roast chicken was dry and the odd sauce (glaze?) on it was sticky, almost gooey..and flavorless. All in all a big disappointment which is too bad--we are frequently at the symphony and if the food was better would dine here more often. But with several great restaurants a block or two or away (Wild Ginger, Taste, Lecosho, etc) there's not a reason to go back."

"While Measure is certainly not inexpensive, the quality of the food is worth the cost. The menu, while brief, offers a good selection of seasonal foods. The plating is exquisite. The wine list is sufficient without being overwhelming. Our server was knowledgable in suggesting wine/food pairings. This is a delightful way to start an evening at The Seattle Symphony."

"It was a superb experience and a real treat to arrive at Benaroya early and just relax for an unrushed time before the concert. It put us in the mood to thoroughly enjoy the evenings concert. The food was delightful and small delicious portions. Perfect for before concert. We truly enjoyed the experience.

It was also fun to sit and observe the 6:00PM rush out of the city from a relaxing spot."
