"I come from a big Italian family, so we are ways very skeptical of Italian restaurants. Buca di Bepo, however, blew us away. The atmosphere was very unique and we had a very friendly server. The food was phenomenal, and my family sets high standards for Italian restaurants. We ordered our food family style, which allowed everyone to try everything. They served large portions, and that made it feel like we were right at home at our own Italian family dinner. I will definitely go back!!!"

"I was looking for a place to celebrate my son's graduation. I booked the reservation and was surprised to find out that the restaurant was off the food court at the mall. When we got there it was very nice and the food was very good. We all enjoyed the experience."

"I suppose that you can argue in favor of the convenience of a food court sit down restaurant, but this is not a good value. The prices are high, and although the portions are large, the food is just "OK". If you have other options, I would choose them."

"Apple gorgonzola salad was very good. Our pasta dishes, the spaghetti and baked ziti were good, but not anything out of the ordinary. Our server was attentive, but very busy with many tables at 5:30 on a Saturday. Being located off the food court at the mall, this Buca does not have a kitchen table, which is always my favorite part of this chain. The food was served family style, and our party of 5 shared a large salad with WAY too much left over and two small pasta dishes. Plenty of food, and very reasonably priced."

"The food was ok. I would have liked more sauce on my pasta but didn't ask for it because I didn't know if they would charge extra. But it was fine. Some of the pictures on the wall are offensive and not very kid friendly. Lots of women in revealing clothing and/or underwear. Very expensive for lunch and for dinner. I would not dine here very often because of the prices. I was alarmed to see that the appetizer we had was $14.99. Thankfully I had a coupon or we would not have gotten it. The service was fair. Very slow for a work lunch hour. The waitress was very nice but didn't refill anyone's drinks. I didn't notice until we had been waiting several minutes for our change that no one had drinks."

"I thought the prices were way too high for what you got...Our large platter for 4 just fed the 3 of us. I couldn't believe that you had to pay $7 for garlic bread////we didn't need that much bread for 3 of us and the price was way too high for bread! The server was good but it took a long time for the food to come (there were 10 of us). I could never eat there alone, as the prices don't allow for single servings. The food tasted good, but come on, it's pasta...they need to rethink their really high prices...our bill for 3 was $48.00 and we had NO MEAT DISHES...I.m not sure I would go back."

"The tables are too crowded together, it was very uncomfortable. We had 4 top table against the wall and we had to seat 2 on the bench, 1 across from the bench and the 4th person had to sit at the end of the table to make room for the wait staff to serve the table behind us. The food was ok, but not great. The prices are very high. We did not like the 'family style' dining. It forces you to agree on an entree to share. It was very loud and that coupled with the seating arrangement made conversation hard. I would not recommend this resaurant nor do I plan to return since there are better options for Italian food in Champaign."

"I'd been to other Buca di Beppos. This one was moderate by comparison. The food was outstanding. The service wasn't bad but my previous experience was at a restaurant in an area where the service industry sustains the economy. Here, not so much was at stake and the service reflected it. There needed to be more secluded dining areas at that particular location because that location was too loud."

"It was so loud this time! There was a big table set up by ours and there were two groups one after another dining there. It was very loud. The food wasn't so good this time either. Mac and cheese from the kids menu was the yummiest entry at our table - you can imagine how was the rest of the food. The biggest disappointment of the night was actually the server. First, I asked him a question which he never answered. He said he will check with the kitchen and will come back with the answer but probably forgot about it. Also, we were planning to have a desert this time, but when server brought us a check while we were still eating (!) without us asking him to do so our plans for dessert have definitely changed."

"The staff was very helpful and pleasant even with the handful of kids we had in the party. The manager was even kind enough to honor an email coupon I had received but was unable to open on my pc at home. The food was great and the staff was very helpful. We had a great evening for my wife's birthday!"

"We were in no rush, so no big deal that it took forever to get seated, with a reservation. Or to get our appetizer...or silverware to eat our appetizer. But I was expecting at least some decent chain Italian food, but unfortunately, it was bland and not worth the effort of eating."

"There are few choices if you chose not to eat family style. The bread was very good, but to me, the spaghetti was starchy. I probably will not return. The calamari and red sauce were delicious!"
