"Out tables were cobbled together (did not match in height or size). We could not carry on a conversation with anyone sitting more than one chair away. The service was mediocre at best. When one of my guests dropped a glass on the floor, the wait staff ignored it and my guest picked up the pieces to mitigate a safety concern. Only after he was picking up the glass did a waiter who was passing by stopped to help and sweep up the shards.
I would come there with one or two people but not a group. They are not prepared for it."

"Our family had a great experience at Marlowe's for Mother's Day brunch. We had a group of 12, including 2 elementary aged kids, and this was the perfect space. We were seated by windows open to 16th St. Mall. The table was perfect. Service was great and the brunch was wonderful and reasonably priced for the items available. Highly recommend."

"The air conditioning was blasting right on our table - we moved, still freezing. The food was so-so, the service was not on top of it, even though we told him we had to leave by a particular time and that we wanted dessert. Didn't get dessert."

"I haven't been to Marlowe's in a while and thought I'd give it another try. For some reason, there is nothing there to bring me back. Nothing different from any other restaurant, nothing that stands out to make me want to return again and again. The food is mediocre but WOW factor."

"We were seated on time, and the waitress was friendly. The food was very good. The atmosphere was very loud, probably because of the floor not being carpeted. Service was a bit erratic, but overall, a nice experience."

"I ate at this same Marlows a couple years back and I remember having a much better experience. This time the service was good but starting off with the onion soup was a bad choose. It tasted like overcooked broth with a ton of onions. (Try the one at the Summit) The calamari was ok but could have used a little more and perhaps, larger pieces. The steak I had was dry. It looked nice and pink like I liked it. But the outside was burned a little and it just lacked juice. So why did I eat and not say anything? It was my wife’s birthday and she came from Texas to celebrate it. I did not want to mess up that night. If I had a little more time to get to her surprise party I would have addressed it. Again our waitress was good."

"Love that an 'upscale' restaurant can offer a Happy Hour at prime time. The food was great and so were the prices. It makes coming downtown a little easier when you don't have light rail. I really have a problem paying 15-20 dollars to park, then have to pay anywhere from 50-100 dollars to eat. I would come back to Marlowe's for the food and the great prices."

"Outstanding food! The pork tenderloin was excellent. The ambiance is good with quite a bit of noise, but that is to be expected on a Saturday evening with such a central location. Would definitely recommend to others looking for a great meal."

"The restaurant was very busy on a Saturday night and we were glad we had reservations. The calamari appetizer was pretty good, but we both ordered the surf and turf and the lobster was flavorless and tough, and the steak wasn't very tender."

"We went here with a group of 8 before a show at the Paramount Theater. The service was friendly and efficient. The happy hour deals for drinks and appetizers were good. The ambiance was as expected --- bar-like with some volume. There was something for everyone on the menu, though the food was average."

"We went here before a show at the Paramount Theater. There were 4 of us and, while the food was delicious (we all had a different salad and loved them) and the service very good (especially considering the large crowd), it was way too loud. We all had to lean way in to hear what was being said in our conversation."

"Attended Easter Brunch. The ambiance and entry were nice. However, even though we were a late morning seating - and no one else really was in the restaurant; it took 5 minutes to get our drink orders. The buffet was, "meh." Nothing extraordinary, nothing too terrible except the jambalaya that was so salty four people left it on the table. It was disappointing, I have eaten lunch at Marlowe's several times - but won't go back for brunch again."

"We wanted something special for Easter brunch and thought this would be a good fit for our party of 7. The food was okay, nothing special. They kept running out of food and it took forever to restock certain items. Several of us wanted to try the french toast but it was never available. The service was horrible! It appeared that they had a bloody mary bar available and also appeared that many people were drinking a morning cocktail - mimosa perhaps. We wouldn't know since our server never told us about either. Two of our party that arrived 10 minutes after we were seated were never offered a beverage and when asked for water halfway though their meal, never received it. The restaurant wasn't busy so no excuse for poor service."

"We went on Easter Sunday for the brunch, and it was great! No complaints what so ever. We were seated right away and attended to quickly for drinks before we could go to the brunch station. We really enjoyed the spreadout of different foods from crab cakes, french toast, assorted sausages, salmons and much more. We would definitly recommend and we would come back if ever in the area again."

"We were excited for Easter brunch at Marlowe's. They did a nice job setting everything up for a festive occaison. The staff were attentive and friendly. My only reservation was the food was mediocre. I know with a brunch buffet the food is a notch down from ordering off the menu. I found the food temps to be cooler than I prefer. It was a pretty carb laden menu with few fresh veg choices. The pork tenderloin was extremely dry and unpalatable. The bloody mary bar option was the highlight for me."

"I would absolutely return to Marlowe's for Happy Hour or a Sandwich. We were there for 5280 and had steak which was quite disappointing. Texture was really strange and it was very tough. Service was great and I love the location. Steak isn't their bailiwik."

"There were 8 people in our group with reservations for 5280. Our service was very good. We were disappointed in the food. Some of us had the steak off the 5280 menu. They were all very tough. A few had the crab cakes off the 5280, which had little flavor to it. Maybe the food off the menu is better than what they offered on the 5280 menu."

"Lunch was OK. My fish taco were fried with a bit too much batter. I much prefer grilled fish tacos. My buddy had a lamb stew that was quite good with generous portions."

"Went there for the 5280-restaurant week special. the portion size was embarrassing. i appreciate a good deal, but the one-ounce lobster tail was a joke.
everything else was nice, but i doubt i'll ever return. as i said before, whoever thought of an one-ounce portion should truly be embarrassed."

"We had been there before and it was a great experience. This time was very disappointing. We ordered surf and turf and the filet was the toughest I have ever had. There was literally 2 bites of lobster only. We ordered a happy hour cocktail and they buLed the advertised price up for some bogus reason."

"The food was mediocre. Need some updates. We had a musical to attend at the Paramout so we chose Marlowes. However, we won't do that again. Haven't been there in a long time and it was terrible. The potatoes that came with the bison burger were awful and just one greasy wedge. How can you stay in business with this kind of food. Must be the bar action.."
