Villa Mosconi is a family-run restaurant located in the heart of New York City's historic Greenwich Village. The restaurant has been serving the same great food under the guidance of the Mosconi family since 1976 at the same location on MacDougal Street between Bleecker and West Houston streets. The restaurant offers superb authentic Northern Italian cuisine that reflects the family's origins in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy.
"Chose to reserve here due to good Zagat score and proximity to Soho Village Playhouse. Service, food and atmosphere was as rated. I highly recommend this restaurant!"

"My kid loved the kid-friendly service provided by the waiter very much. My wife and I enjoyed the quiet corner and the atmosphere. We ordered one pasta dish with clam; enough garlic taste but did not taste much of the clam. We also ordered the stuffed porkchop which was recommended by the waiter. The taste was great but a little on the salty side in my opinion. Perhaps I did not get the right dishes this time. I will definitely give it a second chance."

"Everything was going well until the end. We asked for the check and waited and waited and waited... When it finally arrived we were told that we could only use 2 credit cards. Paying with multiple cards has not been an issue at any other restaurant that I've been to. Then when we put some cash and 2 cards in the holder, the waiter took it out and counted it in front of us!!! WTF??? Never returning even though the meal itself was fine."

"We always enjoy a visit & meal at Villa Mosconi. This is a wonderful neighborhood restaurant in the Village. The Mosconi family & the staff are so welcoming & friendly, eager to make sure your dining experience is the best! And that it certainly is! The homemade pasta dishes are excellent. Everything we have had at Villa Mosconi has been excellent. We highly recommend this restaurant to all."

"This family-run establishment is quintessential NY. We picked it to celebrate several family birthdays, and to support small local business in NY, and were delighted. Villa Mosconi is like walking into your neighbor's welcoming warm dining room, and being comforted by excellent, authentic food. Our pasta and fish dishes were wonderful as were the desserts. Service was attentive and personal. We will definitely be back!!"

"I have been to Villa Mosconi many, many times and I will go back but Saturday night, we were put in the "garden room" not sure what they call it and the noise was deafening. The waiter was not very efficient and became annoying and the table seemed very small, we had to move things off of the table in order to eat our dinner. Several of us received food that was not hot. Maybe it was an off night but I do not live in NY anymore and look forward to eating here when I come to NY."

"Overall the food was very good quality. Everyone in our group seemed to enjoy their dishes. The ambience could use some spiffing up though. The one thing that stands out the most was the waiter, not the service, but the waiter. His interaction with us was very awkward at times. I can't exactly put my finger on it...others noticed it too. It was definitely annoying. Ordering, communicating...it didn't flow easily. He made things awkward instead of easier."

"This is one of the restaurants we choose when a large number of family members converge on NYC. The service is excellent and very friendly. Children are not just tolerated, their needs are taken very seriously and, as a result, they have a wonderful time. There are simple pasta dishes for the kids and more sophisticated Italian fare for the adults. I'd say the food is old-time NYC Italian. Very comforting."

"It had been a while since we were back at our favorite spot and we were looking forward to it. We weren't disappointed! The best waiter in the business, Jerry , took care of us & made the visit a truly wonderful experience. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu here. Thanks VM!"

"Great little place, but the food wasn't that great. I went there for Easter Brunch, they had a fixed menu for that day and they didn't have any options for vegetarians."

"We were there for Easter Sunday. so the place was really jumping. I don't know if it is always that lively, since this was our first time at the restaurant. Despite how busy they were, the service was excellent - very attentive and friendly. The food was terrific, and I look forward to going back on an "regular" night."

"We live in the area and have been going to the Villa Mosconi for years. We had a wonderful Easter Dinner- good food, excellent service and a leisurely meal. The restaurant was packed but we received true old world attentive service. We had come in early in the day and the restaurant was quiet but as the families and larger groups arrived, the noise level went up. It was a holiday and everyone was enjoying themselves! We have never been disappointed."

"We had a celebratory dinner for 7 people, and I asked to be seated in the 4 season garden, which was a real breath of fresh air in the winter. Great service. Great food, great restaurant. Great evening enjoyed by all."

"We visited on Thursday evening with a group of 7. The food was very good and the service was outstanding. We were very comfortable, had a great time and were able carry on conversations across the table without shouting. Will definitely go back again when in NYC."

"Love Mosconi's!!! They are such a lovely family!!! Our waiter, Danny, is the sweetest young man and always offers excellent menu recommendations! Giovanni and Margarita are so friendly! I got a chance to meet Margarita's sister this time - what a doll!!! Whenever I've visited Mosconi's they make me feel like family. A visit to the Village isn't complete for me without a visit to Mosconi's! The food is always delicious and the service wonderful!"

"The appetizers are wonderful and very good for sharing. If I had a complaint, it would be that the main courses are overly generous and occasionally over-sauced. Every neighborhood should have an Italian restaurant like this one!"

"I took my 15 year old nephew who is difficult to feed and he had a difficult time narrowing his choices on this huge menu (plus many specials) he wanted to order everything. He loved it and I thought it was very good even if it is a bit of a throwback to an earlier time. We were treated very nicely and had a lovely meal."

"Four of us had dinner here, each ordering a different meal. Each meal was excellent and the portions perfect. No fancy presentation with small proptions. The staff were all friendly and accomodating. There are three different dining rooms, which can be great for seperating couples looking for a romantic evening from the families out with their kids. And I like that the bar is not in the same room with the dining area."

"I've been going to Villa Mosconi for the past 27 years and it amazes me that things never change. The homemade pasta is excellent and the choices are the menu are all first rate. It is a tribute to consistency, quality and great taste. If you want a true Italian experience where you feel like you're dining at home, this is the place."
