"The table service needs some work. The chef owner needs to be more aware of the service aspect of the front of the house. Had he known how awfully slow the service was, he would likely be upset. The chef is talented and very passionate about his business. This little place has huge potential but the service was dreadful. Servers were ignoring tables, talking too long at other tables....BAD."

"Service made this place the type of evening we won't need to repeat. We have family that walked to the place, but they did not have great things to say. Waited 10 minutes for a glass of water; wine did not get the 20% discount referenced in coupon; they brought appetizer after bringing out entrees. Food was good, but not memorable and service is the one reason we won't need to return. Too bad because location and atmosphere could make this place worthwhile."

"We made reservations online for the Saturday two days after Valentine's Day. Two days after the holiday they were still out of salmon and seafood chowder because of the big holiday rush. Really? Food - scallops pasta-and plating was bland tasteless and disappointing. We have enjoyed meals there before but won't be back."

"We went to Signature Cafe on a cold January night, but felt cozy tucked in this neighborhood gem. Our food was served hot and perfect with great taste and preparation. The salmon had a slight crunch on the surface that was perfectly moist inside. The brussel sprouts were sweet and had a great bite, the roast beef was so tender and the carrots were beautiful and perfectly done with a lot of color and flavor, the chicken pasta with mushrooms had a wonderful white wine sauce that made our son in law a believer in mushrooms! The tender short ribs had an unexpected Asian flavor - just the right amount that made the dish well rounded. We will be back to Signature Cafe and bring along more friends!"

"We visited on a very slow night and had the full attention of the waiter and the chef. Overall, it was a great experience. First we shared a really delicious and generous goat cheese appetizer. My wife had a very sizable portion of sautéed scallops that were cooked perfectly. Her risotto cakes were rich and the kale had a nice citrus tang. My entree of pot roast and mashed potatoes with roasted winter vegetables was a great comfort option. We shared a bread pudding with caramel sauce for dessert with each of us vying to lick the plate. Signature Cafe is the type of restaurant that every neighborhood needs—attractive but unpretentious with excellent cuisine in a very comfortable setting. Many gluten-free option"

"Food was unacceptable at that price. I last went there when the previous owners ran it and it was comparable to Alma or Lucia's. Crostini was marginal bread under toasted with what appeared to be canned beans poured on top. Creamy polenta lacked flavor and mushrooms had no salt. Not sure if an actual chef put that together
