Hakkasan San Francisco
Hakkasan offers modern Cantonese cuisine including dim sum, an extensive wine and sake program and late-night dining under the auspices of Michelin-starred Chef Ho Chee Boon. Situated on the second floor of the iconic One Kearny building, the restaurant boasts a main dining area which affords guests a view of bustling Market and Geary streets through soaring arched windows which are punctuated by latticed “cages” for a sense of privacy. Hakkasan also features a 25-seat V-shaped bar, two private dining rooms, and a 50-seat Ling Ling lounge, a signature feature of Hakkasan, that reflects the old-school decadence of Chinoiserie. The seasonally driven dishes have been uniquely crafted to match our progressive cocktail and wine list which results in an unparalleled dining experience.

"We have been to Hakkason San Francisco for both dinner and lunch. The food was equally good on both occasions. We pretty much stuck to their specialties, and were not disappointed. The Hakka fried Dim Sum platter, Crispy Duck Salad, and Hakka Noodles with mushrooms were all excellent. We would return again and again."

"I went to Hakkasan for lunch recently. This was not my first visit, but every time I go there, it gets better! On my most recent visit, I asked the server to just "have the kitchen take care of us". Boy did they ever! Every dish is so flavorful and distinctly different and the dishes are definitely wine friendly! I will definitely go back! The Cod and Duck Salad Dishes are awesome!"

"I eat at what I consider authentic Chinese restaurants several times a year, so I have certain expectations when it comes to prices, quantity, and quality, and it was hard for me to step away from that and enjoy the food at Hakkasan. Simply put, it's too expensive for what I am used to and the quality of food was not significantly better to make me disregard the prices...unlike M.Y. China, which strikes a good balance. Or similar to Yank Singh, which does not in the dim sum department. Overall, I would not go back except for maybe drinks and I would not recommend it to anyone who is familiar with the Chinese restaurants out in Balboa or Clement where printed English words are rare and all the tables are round and have a lazy susan on top."

"Great service, great ambiance, great food, great cocktails! Hakkasan takes the traditional Chinese dining experience and melds it into a five star delight. From the moment you hand your car over to the valet parking, to that final gesture when your guests' coats are returned, everything about Hakkasan is five star. We ordered the duck salad and the cold pork belly which were delicious. The silver cod was fish done to perfection and the noodles and vegetables were superb. Our waitress was knowledgeable, prompt, efficient and charming. Now Hakkasan costs more than a typical Chinese meal; but it's worth it! If you want cheap Chinese, go to Grant Street; if you want gourmet Chinese food, a refined setting, and great service, come to Hakkasan!"

"I loved the ambiance and the decor of the restaurant. Although, my aunt so astutely pointed out there was only one round table that we saw in the entire restaurant. Chinese so love their round tables! The food was mediocre which goes to show that people are willing to pay for the ambiance. I just wonder when the honeymoon phase will be over. It's a shame. We need a good Chinese restaurant in town."

"It is rare to find a Chinese restaurant where the Executive Chef has a Michelin star. We had "Mother's Day" lunch at Hakkasam and it was exceptional. In the past, if you wanted an elegent, upscale Chinese restaurant, you had to go to Tommy Toys. One now has a great alternative.
The dim sum is the best we have had.
Definitely worth a visit - but don't expect Chinatown prices!"

"This isn't just a fancy Chinese restaurant. This is a fine dining establishment that happens to serve Chinese food. But don't assume that the food isn't "authentic." From the cocktails and tea service to the entrees and dessert, everything is meticulously laid out and the staff is well trained. I even noticed that the plates were always placed in a consistent fashion - attention to detail like that is remarkable.
However, you will find prices to be a little more expensive and portions to be a lot smaller than your typical Chinese restaurant - the combined effect can lead to sticker shock. But you don't go to a place like Hakkasan expecting an all-you-can-eat buffet for $10.99. Enjoy the food, drinks, ambience, and service."

"Our dim sum lunch was delightful, although the techno music was slightly more intrusive than we would have liked. Our waiter gave us good advice on how many items to order for our party of three. We had no disappointments, and especially liked the morel crystal dumpling and the duck and pumpkin puff. "This place is really amazing...super sexy bar, great service, amazing wine and liquor list, and fabulous service. My ONE complaint...they burn incense in the lobby...WAY too heavy! Ugh. "Having been to the Miami restaurant, San Francisco was disappointing. Perhaps it was a different menu, don't recommend getting dessert there, and the ambiance was lacking in comparison. Nonetheless it wasn't a bad experience but I wouldn't go to the San Francisco Hakkasan again."

"Hakkasan was a wonderful experience for us. We loved the ambience, the service was marvelous, the sommelier was knowledgeable, and the food was delicious. We had the steamed dim sum platter, the crispy duck salad, and beef in merlot with rice - plenty for two of us. The signature cocktails were very good and nicely presented. Highly recommended."

"Absolutely love the food. Portions can be quite small, nevertheless it was amazing. The pork, the duck, the fish and the appetizers were just to die for. Service was great too! The waitress was very attentive and i never had to wait for my drink. Had my birthday here, drinks were good, really liked the martinis and wine selection. Overall, i was happy to go here!"

"The duck salad was SPECTACULAR - truly fantastic. All else was ok to good - nothing bad but nothing else was super special, especially considering the high prices. Service was very good - efficient and helpful. I had VERY high hopes for the ambiance and was somewhat disappointed. The crowd was older, unattractive and rather boring. There was too much natural light - detracted from the dark and pretty decor. Doubt I'll go regularly - nothing about the experience, except the salad, was worth the extra money."

"Too expensive for what is offered. Only Peking duck is a $ 200 plus dish with a separate portion of caviar. Duck was no different than any Chinatown restaurant. Dish portions in general are half the size of most restaurants at almost double the price. Too much incense in the Lobby area--not good for people with allergies like me."
