A taste of Italy has come to Miami Beach"s quaint,
European-inspired Espanola Way with the arrival
of Pepe Nero Restaurant and Pepe Nero Bar.
The striking corner location is ideal for people
watching and the comfortable furnishings make it
even better.
The European-inspired wooden chairs with comfy
cream-colored upholstery which seem plucked
from inside someones home are a nice contrast to
the long, narrow, tufted-back leather benches that
are also used for seating. It's almost as if owner
Daniele Mossini wants diners to feel right at home
when they're enjoying his delectable food.
"We spent a lot of time and effort re-doing the
interior and exterior. I care about the customers
and I love this place. I have to love it, it's the only
way it will work," Mossini said.
His effort paid off, resulting in an elegant restaurant
with incredibly fresh, authentic elegant Italian
classics on one side and a casual bar with lighter
food on the other.
"Went with my family on Friday night. Very nice setting, great food and service. It was very busy and the food took a bit longer than we expected, but the server explained to us that all the food was fresh and prepared in the moment, but I honestly only believed when we got the food. I had a seafood risotto with the prawn that was amazing, my wife had the lobster ravioli and my 2 daughters shared a plate of bolognese pasta that was big enough for the both of them. We all enjoyed the food very much and I can say it was worth of waiting a few minutes longer to get such a great meal. We'll be back."

"Pepe Nero was awful. We had a pushy waiter who turned surly when we asked for more time and didn't order his suggested most expensive thing on the menu. We were brought the wrong entrees and nothing was done to rectify that mistake. Food was mediocre and not what we ordered. The next night at Osterio del Teatro made up for all that. It is a fabulous Italian restaurant right up the block from Pepe's. Great service and excellent food."
