Sitting on the “nexus of the universe”, bridging the East Village and the Lower East Side. Mezetto is where you can come to simply enjoy great food, fun drinks and good company. Inspired from the word 'Meze' which refers to a selection of small dishes served in the Mediterranean as breakfast, lunch or even dinner. It is our take on tapas-style dinning, offering small plates meant to be shared amongst friends to create an social dining experience. We are focused on taking traditional flavors and cooking styles of the Mediterranean and bringing them to life with new age cooking techniques, creative combinations and bold presentations. Mezetto is how we do Meze.
"Came here for their bottomless mimosas - though they tasted good, they weren't very strong. The restaurant itself is cute and simple. The food was simple... a bit too simple! whereas most brunch places will serve potatoes or a small side alongside your entree, Mezetto offered none of that. For $10+ an entree, definitely expected more food. My friend ordered a salad and it looked more like an appetizer or side salad rather than an entree. We also ordered the brussel sprouts appetizer, which although it was delicious, was again very small. All in all, the food quality was good, but for the prices we paid, I'd rather go elsewhere. The waiters were nice, but seemed too eager to clear our plates."

"What a great find. The owner said he just opened 6 months ago and you can tell he really appreciates your business as he and his staff work extremely hard to make the experience enjoyable. The tapas were delicious and ordering a lot of small plates was perfect for our group of 13. The location is nice as well as it is on a corner with large windows that open - great when it is nice out. The bartenders were knowledgeable and made wonderful drinks. My girlfriends and I will definitely be back, especially in the summer months to sit by the window and enjoy a drink. I had never heard of this place before, but can't stop saying enough nice things about it."

"We LOVED Mezetto. The Falafel Buns are perfect. Perfect. It's been a while since a first bite of food stops me in my tracks. Happened here. Also, amazing variety of vegetarian options for an omnivore restaurant. Made for a great date for me (non-vegetarian) and my girlfriend (veg). Thanks!!"

"An interesting menu of mediterranean tapas. Dishes were flavorful and very different; Service was great-- we felt as though we were in someone's home. A great find on East Houston!"

"Mediterranean tapas as they should be. The food is nicely spiced and the small plates are just that. Small but good wine selection. The service was just perfect -- very understated but helpful in making selections. The kitchen worked with the "non-milk" customer -- made a very tasty risotto without either butter or parmesan cheese."

"I love this restaurant! I went for dinner with some friends last weekend and we had the greatest time! The food was so yummy and the service was awesome. I ordered the Mezetto Trio and was blown away by how delicious it was. Then I had the falafel steam buns which were both innovative and tasty. I also tried the brussel sprouts which were so good,I recommend asking for the blue cheese on the side if you don't like blue cheese. My friends ordered the lamb meatballs and the gnocchi and were raving about them so I tried them and to my surprise I really enjoyed both! (I typically don't eat meat) My friends and I had a great experience. I am definitely going to come back again for dinner!"

"Consistently delicious. Only been for brunch but both times I went I was thoroughly impressed. Cozy environment in a place that you wouldn't expect. If you're looking for a low-key place to go on the lower east side and don't want to make a res too far in advance this is your spot."

"I liked the atmosphere. Small, energetic but not too loud. The appetizers were excellent, but both my date and I thought the striped bass w/risotto and the gnocchi were too salty.
I might go again to try a couple more dishes, but there are a few other restaurants in New York I haven't tried."

"Service was knowledgable and friendly. Food was innovative and delish. Hummus was was unique, wines by the glass were reasonable and excellent. Falafel which I am normally not a fan of because I find it dry was brilliant. Dessert recommendations were excellent. Will definitely return."

Blue Point Oysters were very fresh, lamp chop was excellent. Rest of the food was good but not outstanding
Service was not great- actually got appetizer served twice to us- couldn't keep track of how far along we were in pre fixed menu (was Valentine's Day). But servers were all very nice
Would definitely go back to check out larger menu"

"Went to Mezetto for V-Day b/c we liked the vegetarian option on the prix fixe (goat cheese salad and mushroom/artichoke heart risotto with truffle oil) and the great reviews.
As far as service, it seemed as though the owners overfilled the restaurant and turned a cozy space into a triage unit. As far as food quality, my wife really enjoyed her fare. My oysters had several pieces of shell and sand. My lobster was not an entree and barely a tapas. Small, heavily spiced and overcooked with no side. Dessert was fine. Courses were all well presented.
Unfortunately the crowding and my lack of a meal became our main topics of conversation, which was not what I expected. They overextended and it hurt the experience."

"Everything was great except one of the desserts, some kind of layered custard with a strawberry syrupy thing on top - that was pretty gross. It was too bad to end with that, because everything else was delicious, but overall it was a good experience."

"The Food was great. innovative and tasty. everything comes in small portions that are great opportunity to try a lot of dishes. there were a few winners like the trio of eggplant humus and Labane, served with fresh grilled bread . the delicious falafel tiny sandwiches, and the grilled avocado & artichoke salad was like silk. for a drink ,we loved the Arak "limonana" mochito and the Sangria was perfect. On top of it the service was excellent. total price came up to $125 for a couple including tips, but we ate a lot."
