Cozy Affaire french bistro & lounge brings a Parisian touch to the lower east side's gastro-club scene. The bi-level labyrinth-like French lounge is designed to create an inviting space that mixes classic bistro looks - the weathered wood ceilings, exposed brick walls - and shadowy chandelier glow of a chateau. The Den upstairs has a pillow-lined banquette with dimply lit chandeliers and a huge red lampshade in the open air storefront, the mood is set for some adult fun. Below the restaurant down the narrow staircase there is a dual-level basement comprising of Candle Lounge and a Gold Room outfitted with antique mirrors, gold painted seclusive nooks and crannies.
Chef Edgar Navarrete of La Mediterranee and Cafe du Soleil has designed a menu inspired partly by recipes from owner Andrew Krauss's Parisian mother. The full menu is offered both up and downstairs.
"We ate at the restaurant with another couple apres theater. Three of our party had the beef bourginon. It was flavorful but nothing special. Ordered the sundae for dessert was just okay. The service was the issue. The servers really meant well, but their execution left something to be desired. Slow and inattentive.
We will not return, and would not recommend to a friend."

"I went there for brunch and the service was virtually non-existant. There were only a few other people in there and we didn't even get the basic necessities--salt and pepper (when I went up to the bar to grab salt, our server who was folding napkins or something said "I could have gotten you that", like he was offended). I got there before my friend and they filled up my water, once--not one refill, and never filled my friend's glass. They did not come back during our meal once to see if we needed anything (more drinks would have been nice). And when we got our food and I asked the ketchup and hot sauce, the guy said "well I have to go to the kitchen and get it so it might take awhile. Do you still want it?"."

"Sexy and dimly-lit, this is the perfect date spot. They also have a burlesque show/lounge downstairs on the weekends. Would recommend for a date or a girl's night out. Try the roast chicken or the mussels. My friends had the vegetable risotto and loved it as well. Would definitely recommend."
