"Once again, thank you to open table. Would not have found this place were it not for you. Almost all of my dining plans and schedules is doen through open table. This places food was great. SUPER friendly staff. Food was great. Portions are so-so. The mixed grill for example gives you 2 skewers. The zucchini cakes were AMWESOME but on the small side. I know I am probably being petty but when you sepnd Almost $200 on food, you expect a little more. But nevertheless...great all around."

"Great food! We had all appetizers and each of them were delicious! Love this new place and will definitely go back. Scallops were cooked just right, had lots of flavor and most importantly they were fresh! The Giant bean salad was a delite. Fresh, zesty, and yummy. Don't hesitate to try this place. You won't be disappointed."

"First time at Lokanta. Service was great, although the fish with pine nuts have only 3 pine nuts in it. The haricots vert was very underkcook and the brussel sprouts too. They have great desserts and don't forget the service."

"The food was good. Nice environment. I was put off because i made a 6:30 reservation and when they went to sit us they asked us if it was OK to finish by 7;30 because they made another reservation for that table. This is TOTALLY unacceptable.I dont put the blame on the staff (our server was great) but on the management of the restaurant."

"But, it just isn't working. This place is so inconsistent with its food. The menu was not that appealing and no more moussaka available. One of their two specials of the night was sold out early in the evening (they apparently only make 12-14 for the entire evening-who does that?) I ordered veal with pine nuts but did not finish it - really an unappetizing dish all around from presentation to taste - so overcooked). My husband tried the salmon risotto - also not that good and he did not finish his dish either. Our daughter had something else that I can't remember except it also didn't taste that good and she did not finish it either. It's just such a disappointment because I really enjoy Mediterranean cuisine."

"We enjoyed our meal. The menu online was not the menu that was presented to order from so I didn't get what I was looking forward to. Service was nice - not too rushed but attentive. Dessert was good. Would recommend giving them a try."

"This was our first visit to Lokanta, but it wont be our last. The menu offered so many wonderful choices it was difficult to decide. We tried the appetizer special - shrimp in a tomato/fennel sauce topped with fontina cheese. It was fantastic! The Moussaka was delicious as were the desserts. The service was excellent. The indoor tables were pretty close together. There are also a few outdoor tables available out front."

"Everything was fantastic. The only other place I have been on Main street that comes close is Nonis Bistro. Lokanta has the perfect location and bulding. This was our first time there. From the street it looks like it might be empty suggesting that it is not good. Since it is fairly new we waited. After reading some of the reviews on open table we decided to try it. As you walk in and are brought to the back where most of the seating and the bar is you realize why it looks empty from the street. I am sorry we waited so long to try it. if you have not tried it you must do so. You will not be disapointed. Our waiter / bar tender was fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!"

"Lokanta is a fairly new restaurant on Main Street in Pleasanton. It came highly recommended by a couple of friends who had eaten there. There is a varied menu with something to appeal to every appetite. The three appetizers we shared were very good, especially the meatballs and fried cheese.
The service was excellent and professional.
My one complaint was the sound level in the restaurant. We sat in the front where there were several tables which would seat six or more. We had trouble hearing the conversation among our dinner guests, and I wished that we had asked for another table.
Other than the noise level though, I would recommend this restaurant."

"Great food. Tried the Musakka and it was great. Very tasty and the size was ample. The appetizer was a phyllo dough wrapped around spinach and cheese and then deep fried. A dipping sauce made of yogurt was available. These were great. Also, they provided rolls with olive oil with crushed olives mixed into the oil.
The service and attention was outstanding. I will definitely return to this restaurant."

"Arrive for a early dinner, and the place was empty. Filled up, but new diners were placed in the rear room, and our table was located in the front. For the most of the dinner, we were totally alone, weird. My wife ordered a pear martini, and did not enjoy it. Said it was bitter. I saw they had mussaka on the menu and want to try it. Very disappointing. It had no flavor and was served as a "cake", like lasagna. Not as I had it in Greece. I know it can be made a thousand ways, but this method was lacking. The appetizers were very good. Dessert was nothing to write home about. Expensive meal for what we had. My first time at the restaurant, and probably will not go back."

"Lokanta was a very pleasant surprise for a Valentine lunch. The menu has many Mediterranean specialities which will appeal to most anyone. The service is friendly, informative and attentive. The owner even went to each table to say "hello" to the guests and thank them for dining. We were seated in the rear room and it was as glass-enclosed "greenhouse" which was bright and cheery. I definitely plan to return and sample some of the selections on the menu that I missed."
