Zio Cecio is an Italian affair with a Sardinian twist; dine on a selection of antipasti platters, or featured pastas and risottos prepared with fresh seasonal vegetables. Or enjoy wood-fire pizzas and signature entrees featuring organic beef, lamb pork, chicken and fresh seafood accompanied by festive wines and specialty cocktails.
"If you avoid heavy dining times, especially when the small dining room is fully occupied, you will have an outstanding experience. Otherwise, the risk of the very small kitchen with only two people beind the line, keeping up with all the orders produces very legthy waits at times. The food is so well prepared and tastes exquisite that it is worth it."

"First time to this restaurant, which is very close to our new home. The food was decent -- nothing very special, but the service was dismissive and completely indifferent. I got the impression that perhaps many of the other diners were regulars. Perhaps with great service, we might have become regulars as well, but after this initial experience, i think not."

"I MIGHT recommend this restaurant for the pasta only. Initially found our server to be very knowledgeable, helpful and professional. The pasta was great as was the starter. However, both of our fish entrees, which were recommended by the server, were overcooked. We advised him of the especially offensive salmon (which he said would be medium rare) and told him we would eat it anyway. Felt like he should have given us a little cost relief for it on the bill. Restaurant was very loud."

"Just too darn loud. We were celebrating a wedding anniverary and had to yell across the table at each other just to be heard. Food was great, service was good - but won't go back without ear plugs!!!"

"Had an excellent meal there. Good service (our server was Joanie, or as the owner referred to her - "the woman"). If you are/were a fan of Arcodoro, you'll enjoy the Sardignian/Italian food, as well as a nice selection of reasonably priced Sardignian wines. Food was uniformly good (fritto misto, squid ink infused spaghetti with clams, spaghetti carbonara, osso bucco), but the highlight was dessert - ricotta with honey and black pepper.Lively atmosphere (at least when we were there on a Saturday night) in a small, but cofortable dining room."

"Have always enjoyed my dining experience at Zio. Have always been seated in the enclosed patio area. This time however, on a Saturday night, we were seated in the main dining area. The noise level and conjestion were cpmpletely unacceptable. The owner appeared to be having trouble with his waiters. They seemed to be doing their best. That was an un-neededistraction. Will be careful when I go and where I sit in the future. (also, pizza is not their signature dish)."

"15 minutes outside of central Dallas but worth the trip! Francesco is the owner. Zio "Uncle" so it's "Uncle Cecio" , Cecio being short for Francesco. Delicious pizza for our group of 7 shared while sipping wine and deciding what to have for dinner. Francesco is from Sardinia so he knows all about fish. The salt encrusted red snapper was perfectly cooked and mouth-wateringly (is that a word?) good. :-) The steak was tender, tasty and cooked perfectly to order. The veal chop was so, so tender, milky white, loaded with flavor and also cooked perfectly. Stting is simple, relaxed, comfortable and friendly. Francesco came to our table twice to make sure everything was okay and then stayed to provide a few very welcome cooking tips. Great find."

"Upon arriving at 7:40 on a Saturday evening, we were allowed to pick where we sat(aka no crowd). We chose to sit on the patio and were seated next to the only 2 occupied tables on the whole patio. One of the tables was lively/loud, tho I don't blame them for having a good time but the restaurant for having poor acoustics. When we spoke to Sergio Saragoca the GM. he dismissed our opinions. Once again, a restaurant attempts to make this space work. if u don't get the patio right(along with respectful GM's), it's futile"

"We took an account to dinner and had pretty mixed reviews from around the table of 8. Most agreed that the waiter was a pushy to get us to order and finally had to be told that we wanted to take our time. But, then he had to be 'flagged down' to get additional rounds of drinks, water refills, correct utensils, etc. A'photo shoot' outside had a large flood light that was blinding the people at one end of our table and we had to ask several times for it to be either moved, etc. The waiter added an extra unordered dessert to the table- we ended up with 3 of the same. two of the 3 were only tasted as no one liked it. So, I mentioned it thinking it would be removed from the bill, but it wasn't. Food wasn't bad, but overall wouldn't go back."

"Our second venture to ZC and we were not disappointed. We took friends, they were also impressed with the experience, and we were able to talk normally without an overbearing background noise. We are always looking for a "go to" restaurant and this may be it. Good food, good service with an ambience that is not overdone like many in Dallas."

"The Calamari, and the Prosciutto appetizers were fabulous, the salads were great too, the lamb chops extraordinary, the only disappointment were the gnocchi= sort of blah . I noticed other pastas at other tables being downed with enthusiasm. Our Texas ears made it very difficult to hear and speak to the waiter. The staff was very attentive as it seemed they were trying to make up for the waiters shortcomings. I Loved it and will be back. I want to sample some other things."
