"The chips and salsa were very good, unfortunately the meal offerings went south from there. We found the chicken tortilla soup good, but not particularly Mexican flavored. The garlic shrimp were in a suspiciously red colored sauce (although I will say on the plus side that the shrimp were large) which was simply greasy. The biggest disappointment, however, was the chile relleno, which was unfortunately not a chile relleno at all. The pepper was wrapped in a flour tortilla (suppose it could have been a rice wrapper traditionally used for egg rolls) and deep fried. This was a fried chile burrito. Clearly the restaurant has never been served a chile relleno, or has and has opted for this fast-food version. The meal was very disappointing."

"I made a reservation for eight via OpenTable and when we arrived, not only were they not ready, but they told me that I didn't have a reservation (with a bit of an attitude). Thank goodness for the confirmation email, since the wait was over an hour for walk-ins. When they finally did seat us we received two different sized table that were directly next to the tortilla maker and half-way in the hallway. It made for a very uncomfortable seating arrangement, since we were literally getting bumped into during the meal. To add to the weird hallway experience, we had to flag down our wait staff and at one point I got up to ask the hostess to get our waiter. It's a bummer since it's one of my fave Mexican joints in town."

"The food was delicious, however the service was quite lacking. When the server finally came to take our order, he kept trying to leave before everyone had ordered. We had to repeatedly call him back so we could finish ordering. There were seven of us and he was trying to remember everyone's order (he did not write anything down), so when the food came of course things were not as we had ordered. I spoke with the manager and he was attentive and the service improved but the first half of the experience still put a damper on overall experience."

"Best Mexican food in town. We drive 30 minutes for their green chile, chips and salsa and chile rellenos. The open table reservation was great too. In the past we have driven down there and never know what wait time to expect. With our reservation we walked right in to our table."

"I've been going to La Loma since 1985 when my office was next door. We moved, then I retired, and I hadn't been there for a couple of years. It has improved with age, and that's saying a lot. Their normally good salsa was simply outstanding, as was the green chile breakfast burrito--from the new weekend brunch menu. I'll be back to see if they still have the best chicken fajitas in Colorado."

"My girlfriend and I really enjoyed this restaurant. The service was very fast for as busy as they were and the food was amazing. The a large variety on the menu and all at a great price. A family atmosphere, a little crowded but to their credit the restaurant handled it very well. I most definetly would visit again and would recommend to anybody that interested."

"First time we have been to La Loma and we enjoyed the food and rita's very much. Also the wait staff were very good. The only negative for me was the staff going table to table singing happy birthday to guests. It kind of cheaped the atmosphere in an otherwise beautiful restaurant, sorry."

"La Loma during restaurant week was busy and the amount of food served for $52.80 was more that could be eaten in a single seating. Their shrimp cocktail was fantastic as was their chips and salsa (a little heat without being too hot). Their entries were good as were their drinks. The only disappointment was the desert. The Soapapas were not nearly as good as other area restaurants. They left me wishing I had tried the pineapple."

"I'm not afraid to pay high prices for quality food when dinning out. But when you walk away after spending $70 for two for dinner & say that you can cook the food then it's absolutely not worth it. Food quality was not indicative of price. Margarita was nothing special & over priced. It was loud & too bright. Not a good place to relax & enjoy as you can hear conversations from nearby tables. This restaurant was overrated."

"I love this place! A group of us from work met for lunch on Saturday. Despite many of us arriving 10-15 minutes early, the table was ready for us when the first of our group arrived. As each new arrival joined, drink orders were taken promptly. We asked that the group of 9 be split into 6 checks. This was done without hesitation or attitude. The service was friendly and attentive without being disruptive. Water, tea, sodas and chips & salsa were refilled without us needing to ask. The food and margaritas, as always, were outstanding."
