"Excellent food, service excusably slow as the dishes were clearly prepared on order and very well presented. Noise from the bar could be heard while eating.
Wine list with famous labels but so overpriced we just ordered two glasses. (My wife is a wine collector who is quite knowledgeable). The freshly made sorbet and ice cream desert was superb."

"...so I made reservations at the Padre's Belvedere Room. The service and food are always outstanding, (as were the drinks we had in the bar beforehand). At one point, the manager even stopped by to make sure that everything was excellent. It was. Highly recommended!"

"I'm not one for fancy food so it was hard to pick something from the menu. I ended up with the Airline Chicken which was very tender. Everyone else at the tablet really enjoyed their food so I would recommend this restaurant for a special occasion as it is a bit expensive."

"This town does not have a lot to offer in terms of fine dining and haute cuisine. The Belvedere Room is probably at the top or very near it for the region. The staff does a good job, and the food seems fresh and is well prepared. The ambiance is trendy, yet subdued. All in all, it was a good place for our business dinner, and I'd go back for a dinner date or other occasion when I want something a class above the other options in town."

"Belvedere doesn't have to be strictly a "special occasion" kind of restaurant but the enviroment lends itself to more intimate groups. The menu, service and presentation exceeds any experience I've had in Bakersfield, more indicative of restaurants you find in cities like S.F, N.Y., or L.A. If you remember anything from this review, remember this: the food was fabulous!"

"The food and service were outstanding! However, the noise from the bar spilled over into the dining room which was so loud that we could not talk to each other at our table. The bar is across the entry/salon area of the hotel, a bit of a distance. There wasn't much communication at our table which was kinda sad since it was a birthday dinner. The acoustics left little to be desired. There really needs to be a door or double doors between the dining room and bar instead of a drape."

"Overall, my experience here was outstanding! My boyfriend and I went to celebrate our 2 year anniversary, and I've not had food this good since our trip to San Francisco for our anniversary last year. Our server was wonderful (although I unfortunately cannot remember her name) and made great suggestions, and we were even approached by the manager at one point to check on how things were.
My only complaint would be that my boyfriend's steak was a bit closer to rare than the medium well he ordered, in the middle. And my scallops, while seared perfectly, were barely warm when they made it to the table. This could be due to the fact that it was quite busy...
Everything else though, was superb! I would definitely go back."

"My husband and I love the food at The Belvedere Room, but the service is always hit or miss. The side booths are extremely uncomfortable, especially if you are wearing heels. The height of the table and booth just don't work. I would recommend that you reserve one of the center tables. We ordered a bottle of wine which was excellent, but when it came time for a refill our server was no where in sight. Lastly, it was my husband actually birthday and I had put on our reservation what occasion we were celebrating. They must of missed that part because we were simply handed the dessert menu instead. I can't rave enough about the food. Everything was excellent, but I get better serve at our location chain restaurant where the entries are $10."

"We celebrated our mom's 60th birthday and had a great time. We brought a toddler and she was easily seated at the end with high chair. The service was awesome and there was no shortage of keeping our glasses of water filled. The atmosphere was great and loved the pretty colors. The food was delicious and couldn't have been better. My scallops were a little cold even though the plates were hot but there were 7 plates to serve together. The steaks were delicious and cooked perfectly! I would highly recommend this place. We met up at the rooftop bar which was really cool prior to coming down for dinner."

"My food was great! but my husband ordered the prime cut and it came back with gristle in it. He wasn't happy with his cut of meat at all. When you pay $40.00 for a prime cut of meat you should get a great cut of meat. Other than that we were very happy."

"My husband and I went to the Belvedere Room a couple of days before Valentine's Day to beat the rush. It was such a great idea because it wasn't busy at all. There was a good amount of people dining but not where it was fully packed. The waitress was very knowledgable and hospitable. She had great recommendations from the wine list as well as the menu. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very nice. Very quiet, very relaxing. You couldn't even realize that there is a loud bar outside of the restaurant with those big drapes covering the restaurant. All in all, my husband and I enjoyed the wine, food, service and experience. We would definitely go again"

"The Belvedere Room was a real treat adding to the romance of Valentine’s Day. They gave my girlfriend a red rose, we were seated right away despite being quite busy (Thank You OpenTable), and the atmosphere was cozy and quiet for the most part. The tables for two felt squeezed together but is hardly a reason to not give them a try. The steamed clams came first which have a slight spice kick to them but so full of flavor. My tenderloin seared in duck fat was more on the rare side of medium-rare but was also so tender and moist that I didn't mind. My girlfriend's Airline chicken breast with the Cajun rub was also moist and delicious. We're so glad we have a great fine dining restaurant in Bakersfield for those special occasion indulgences."

One bad thing was charging $2 for a rub on our steaks were a bit much. Seems you are nickel and diming the customers. Service was good and friendly. We will be back."

"My Bay Area colleagues and I are working in Bakersfield for a few weeks. Naturally, we are sampling the Basque options. We have enjoyed Uricchio's, of the Italian persuasion, and recommend it. But the highlight for us all, so far, has been our two visits to the Belvedere at the revitalized Padre Hotel. Ignore the noisy bar scene and proceed to the restaurant, which was pleasantly full but not distractingly noisy. Service both times was timely, effective and personable. The Wagyu beef gnocchi was light and delicate with rich flavors including an assortment of sauteed mushrooms. Much seafood on the menu, and my colleagues loved the salmon and scallops, but the grilled Airline Chicken and the steaks were the highlights for several of us. Enjoy"
