"We have been enjoying Gerards excellent French food for 26 years! This is our go to place when we are on Maui for both romantic dinners as well as special occasions with friends. The veal chop is simply amazing and Dusty Road is a great way to end a meal."

"We have dined at Gerard's on several occasions and find the signature opakapaka dish with orange and ginger sauce absolutely Devine. My husband ordered the mahi mahi with lump crab special which was superb. Sitting on the porch regardless of the weather in Maui creates the perfect ambiance for an enjoyable evening out in open air."

"Every time I go to this quaint little French restaurant, I always wonder why everybody talks about other restaurants in Maui. There are some nice places in Lahaina but for french food, this is it. The service is always exceptional and the food is wonderful. If you want to go to a restaurant off the beaten path Gerards is the place to go."

"We have been going to Gerard's for dinner for 20 years, since our first trip to Maui. Everything about it is exquisite - the building, the ambiance, the food, the service. It has a superb wine list as well as a full bar. The inside dining room is air-conditioned, which I prefer (due to hot-flashes), but most people seem to prefer dining outdoors on the beautiful veranda."

"Everything was simply outstanding. The service was spot on throughout the entire evening. Our server Gibouis was both friendly and accommodating. He took such great care of us and we genuinely enjoyed talking with him. Some of the highlights for us were the foie gras with poha berries, the ahi tartare, a beautiful and delicious scallop and spinach salad, a perfectly done rack of lamb, and several selections from the charcutarie section - amazing pate! They were so kind to make another order of the foie gras after closing the kitchen. (It was so good we begged for another order!). Everything we ordered ( and the four of us ordered a lot) was fabulous. The duck confit amuse bouche was perfect. Thanks Elise! Can't say enough-Wow!"

"We arrived to our dinner reservation on time, but the reception area was empty. No one acknowledged us.We stood for about 5 minutes for someone finally to acknowledge our present.
The restaurant was about 40% full on a Saturday at 7 pm.
When we wanted to order the Chef tasting menu, the waiter said both tasting menu were sold out.
For appetizer , we both ordered Seared Foie Gras...disappointing , tasteless.
The Snapper was fresh, but it and the mash potato and onion were all barely warm, orange sauce on the snapper was almost cold and had a hint of orange taste, very bland.
Desert was nothing special
This restaurant is very very overrated. We will not return. Bad dinning experience."

"Our porch table at sunset was lovely. Our waiter, Eric, was knowledgeable about the menu, attentive and friendly. Our courses were well paced. The food was well executed, very flavorable but not overpowering. The signature Hawaiian snapper was delicious and my husband really enjoyed the rhubarb cobbler with incredible ginger ice cream. Gerard himself came out to greet every guest which was a pleasant surprise and not normally seen in a restaurant like this. We would highly recommend for the food, service and ambience."

"Our experience was delightful from the Boudin Noir (Black pudding through the assortment of sorbet and fruit. We had never had the Black Pudding, so it was a must. More a pork pate than a pudding, the seasonings created a wonderful taste. It was accompanied by conichons, black olives and toast. We split the Gerard salad that was fresh and flavorful. "Never dined here before. Despite the location on a side street without an ocean view, the location is relatively quiet with good service, decent wine list and better than average food. They have quite a few two-top tables which makes for an intimate dining experience for couples. We were seated outside on the front veranda, which I would recommend. Unfortunately, we couldn't try everything on the menu. Guess we'll have to go again."

"Fabulous food, well prepared, well-served. No baker so bread basket can be ignored but the pastry chef is very good - leave room for dessert. If you like lamb, DO NOT pass up the rack of lamb!"

"While it's classified as fusion, this restaurant actually tries to stick to the French/Creole kitchen, starting from pate "just like in Burgundy", and up to French Press coffee. And it's a definite success and an A+!
While prices are average $$$ (we paid a similar price to Mala Tavern), you really feel special: The waiter was very friendly and well-informed, the food was exceptional and sublime, and the whole interior is nice and cosy, with no elbow-touching whatsoever.
Everything was good, from appetizers (try the Dumplings!) to entrees (not just fresh catch, but delicate, suave sauces, nothing too strong or out of context) to the desserts, that were also top-notch. Even the smell all around is perfect"

"The only issue we had was parking. They have a gravel lot beside with signs saying parking for their restaurant, BUT you have to go to the restaurant and get a ticket to Put on dash, then walk back to restaurant to be seated. We were not aware so got $30 ticket on car. Of course we took it into restaurant and they informed us they would take care of it and told me procedure for when I come back. A pain!"
