"My wife and I celebrated our 10th anniversary at The Penrose Room. This is the 3rd anniversary that we have spent here. We absolutely love the ambiance, not only is it romantic with spectacular views, but it is lively as well with the music and friendly and professional staff. Our server Sharane was not only knowledgeable, but also very professional, helpful and extremely courteous. Every visit we have had the menu has been drastically different, I enjoy the variety and love that they are very "in season" with their menu. The chefs possess a true passion and talent for what they do, as everything we tasted was simply fantastic. Flavorful, professional, beautiful and fun! We look forward to celebrating many more special occasions there!"

"I have always enjoyed the Penrose room for its class and unfortunately this last experience was a bit of a disappointment.
The dress code is one of class and elegance and one that the Penrose room enforces usually. There was a party of at least 8 who came in later dressed in skimpy flapper outfits and very loud. A great deal of running around and snapping pictures which was very distracting from the normal elegance of the Penrose room.
The food and service was outstanding as usual, but this was an unnecessary and unfortunate distraction. My hope is the Penrose room in the future will follow its usually outstanding dress code policy and continued pursuit of 5 star service"

"I found the experience to not warrant the price. Portions were small and it appeared the chef was striving to be too "foo-foo" with the Monk Fish. Service was very good but I did have to ask for refills and was not offered coffee with dessert."

"Excellent place to spend an evening for a special day or event. Equally wonderful as a small romantic dinner for two or a small group. Setting is intimate and the staff is attentive but respectful of distance. Perfect blend of elegance and taste in a setting and cuisine that is unmatched in Colorado Springs. A must for the ultimate dinner experience in Colorado. The tasting menu was excellent with only one serving that was disappointing. This is not for those on any budget. The vocalist and band only add to the class and perfection of the evening. Overall, a perfect choice for those occasions that must be unforgettable."

"There is all superb about this restaurant... from when we arrive to the time we left.
The food, the service, the atmosphere, the music.. which by the way the signer has a very nice voice and you can tell she loves her job.

"Lived up to its reputation! Went to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and were not disappointed. Staff was unexpectedly warm and friendly, yet incredibly professional and well trained. "Exquisite meal, service & ambiance! The Maryland Blue Crab Bisque was the absolute best I've tasted. Filet Mignon, cooked to a perfect medium rare, melted in my mouth. Accompanying al dente risotto, with mushrooms and roasted root vegetables, was delicious. Dessert was the unusual, creamy and not-too-sweet Honey Muscat Poached Pear.
A jazz quartet provided the perfect music for romance, nostalgia and dancing. We look forward to returing for another wonderful evening!"

"My wife and I are only together a few months out of the year so we try to have special nights together as often as possible. This was our first time visiting the Penrose room and we couldn't have been happier. My wife has food allergies and everyone went above and beyond to ensure that she had options that fit in her dietary restrictions. The restaurant is immaculate, food is phenomenal and the view is spectacular."

"All was as we expected -- an ambitious menu, and very well-executed dishes. Our only misgiving was the overly-formal service, almost as if these were new-ish servers who were trying too hard to be part of a Big Time Operation, and coming across as a bit clownish (e.g. the simultaneous uncovering of the main dishes, with a chorused "voila!" by the two servers). But for special occasions (it's pricey), I'd happily go back."
