"I had a group of 10 family celebrating a special occasion and we ordered a variety of items on the menu. Steaks were thin, overcooked and probably the biggest disappointment. The duck was rather bland. The positive part was the appetizers (Arancini and the poppers) were good and creative."

"After looking at the menu online I was excited to check out a new place in Lincoln. But my date and I's experience has most definitely discouraged me from recommending the restaurant to any of our friends. We ordered appetizers to see if we would be interested in ordering entrees. I have never seen arancini so minuscule, and the pesto sauce had no flavor or body. The fries were room temperature. When my date's parents joined and ordered their dinner we waited for 30 minutes before realizing that the waitress forgot to put it in. The waitress was nice, but the level of practical service was contradictory to the prices we paid. And the drinks: The Fremont Fizz was flat and the Strawberry Moonshine was inconsistent between rounds."

"Four of us in our group and all visting Single Barrel for the first time, so we sampled a bit of everyone's dishes & appetizers. The general feeling was everything was good, a couple items were very good, but nothing was outstanding. However, would love to go back and try more dishes, as the menu had a nice variety.
The service was very good. Wait staff was friendly and knowledgeable.
I would describe the atmosphere as "pleasant." Nothing special stood out to me, but nothing to complain about either. Just a relaxing dinner."

"The food here is ALWAYS amazing! I've never had bad service either. The food takes a bit longer to come out for larger groups, but just have another drink off their whiskey list and you'll be good :) I love the push for local ingredients and applaud their efforts to make it happen. I tell everyone I know that SB is my favorite restaurant and I hope it becomes a mainstay of Lincoln!"

"Excellent food, not what one would expect from a bar. One of the best steaks I have ever had any where. Great service, excellent drinks. Bacon maple cake was outstanding. Had a wonderful time and will be back to try the duck!"

"My wife and I both really enjoyed our steak but my fries were extremely oversalted. I'm always one to add more salt to my fries but these were unbelievably oversalted"

"The drink menu was amazing. Probably close to one hundred whiskeys. The food menu was rather limited, but I had the bison short ribs and they were excellent."

"The ambiance was amazing and comfortable. It had a very cozy feel. Our server, Bianca, was amazing as well. She was very informative and helpful with menu choices to offering wines. The dry-aged ribeyes were good. Both were a little undercooked, but still great flavor. I would definitely come back and try more things. Don't forget to try the mashed potatoes and the green beans. It does become a little expensive, as everything is ordered a la carte. Overall, great experience!"

"We went for an evening out with friends and enjoyed the ambiance and wonderful food. The plates were plentiful. We ended up staying for the Mackenzie River Band which was very enjoyable. We were able to drink, people watch and enjoy some dancing. The only 2 things I would change would be to turn the music down a bit so that you can still hear enough to visit. It doesn't need to be blaring and the people who would come and stand in groups in front of our booth so that we couldn't see the band or dance floor. Otherwise it was all in all an enjoyable evening."

"I went there for my birthday dinner with my parents, and it was wonderful. I have been there before but my parents had not, and they absolutely loved the food. The Chocolate Maple Bacon Whiskey dessert was to die for! I definitely plan on going back time and time again!"

"Great restaurant, but there were a lot of kids running around, so perhaps not the best romantic spot. Still, fantastic food and amazing whiskey list (I had an amazing Scotch)."

"The food was great as always. We heard they are changing the menu and getting rid of the smoked trout cannelloni starter. We love it, so please reconsider. We again had a conversation about what they are trying to be-a restaurant, a bar, a nightclub? Confusing but love the food."

"I was so excited to come and try the food at Single Barrel but I left let down. I just was confused on how I should feel when I went there. My husband and I went there for our one year wedding anniversary. The ambiance threw me for a loop; definitely was open and bar-like yet the menu was high-end which didn't match. I appreciated such a different variety on the menu that I don't find anywhere else however on the appetizer and on my side dish, the sauce was very bla.
I felt like I was supposed to be experiencing a fancy night and meal based on the prices, yet the tables and booths were not high-end and made me feel like I was simply paying too much $ at a bar. The whole experience was confusing and I don't know what the vision is for it."

"We were there from 7 p.m. until 1 a.m. for dinner and the band. They brought our table the wrong food. Twice. Our server was not around much. The waitresess for evening drinks were way understaffed. The best part of the whole evening was the City Limit Band. The lights were too bright for the band to see the audience though. Maybe turn the lights down a smidge so the band can see the audience. The bull-riding activity was a bonus."

"We did enjoy our dinner at Single Barrel. Our waitress was very nice and efficient. I was impressed with my steak. I ordered medium rare and it came out medium rare! This is the only steakhouse I have been to in years that has gotten this right! We were saddened however, that we had made a reservation and were seated near the kitchen. This has happened to us before when using open table reservations. The whole purpose of making a reservation is so you DO NOT get seated by the kitchen. Overall our experience was good except for all the noise having been seated by the kitchen.
The restaurant did call us on our cell and left a message while we were seated to ask if we were on our way or if we wanted to cancel our reservation. ??"

"Nobody came to serve us. After 20 min, I had to ask for a server. The restaurant was not overly full and the food took a while to arrive. We were seated for well over an hour before we got our food. Good portion size, however the food was a bit cold. I'm not sure if this was a one-time experiance or it this is a regular thing. This was my first time to the Single Barrel...and maybe my last. We were compensated for a portion of our meal...dessert - which we were not going to have, but took home with us. But with this kind of service, I would have expected the entire meal to be compensated."

"Great Food. Service was not that good at the table, had to flag down the waitress twice-1)when my drink was empty for at least 5 minutes, 2)when she forgot to bring me water. However, the service at the bar was very good."

"Wanted to try something different. I had to send two drinks back they were really bad. The food had NO TASTE. I think the both of us used 1/4 of the bottle salt. I won't return."

"The food here is great. I ordered the Single Barrel burger with mashed potatoes and was very pleased with the results. They have a very comprehensive liquor list, which I enjoyed. I also ordered an entrée to go so I would be able to enjoy more of their food later. The staff was very friendly and quick to accommodate my preferences. I will be enjoying this restaurant before I graduate and am forced to move from Lincoln."

"The food was good but a little pricey. Would be nice for a special occasion dinner. Couldn't spend $83 every weekend though. Service was outstanding. Our waitress was friendly, outgoing & stopped by to check on us frequently (but not too much). The desserts were amazing!"

"This was our first chance to have a meal at the Single Barrel. While the atmosphere is VERY casual, almost "honky-tonk" like, the food was excellent. We were both very pleased with our meal. The buffalo short ribs were flavorful and tender. Sides of mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts (grilled?) were excellent as well. My wife had the duck breast and liked it very much as well. The bar has a very extensive top shelf drink collection with likely the largest bourbon offering I have seen to date. Very nice. A very complete wine selection as well with reasonable prices. Not bad. We will be back!"

"Food was good, we debated staying for the band, but decided not to stay that late. Atmosphere a bit cold, add some decor. Server kept asking if we were done as if to get us to finish and leave. A bit strange, maybe just not well trained. Staff kept moving tables and chairs around like not sure what to do."

"The food was good . I got the stuffed chicken and did not really care for it.. My husband got the steak and it was very good . The down side on the steak was that it did not come with any side ... This is acceptable in a high end Ruth Chris type restaurant . I had grits as one of my predetermined side with the chicken. We used our passport which was nice but even with the cost savings do not feel we will return anytime soon. I hope the single barrel makes it but it might be tough ."
