The Pitch and Fork, the Upper East side’s New American gastropub, boasts dimly lit black vinyl banquets, a heavy walnut presence and a backyard garden. It's mouth-watering gastropub style menu is locally sourced and seasonal. The bar boasts hand-crafted specialty cocktails and artisan draught and bottled beers.
"Fried pickles and pressed chicken were good....uncomfortably warm inside on a muggy night with the service spotty as were the oil stained banquets. Charming interior an I will give the restaurant another visit to see if conditions improve."

"Service from the gecko was very suspect. We sat down to our reservation and tables are close together. Then we were asked by 4 different servers what we would like to drink. We asked for a Bloody Mary and a Belini. We got Vodka with cocktail sauce( no celery stick) and flavored champagne. In different glasses than those served at other tables. And we had first asked for coffee's, we were told it's fresh brewed so to wait a little bit. The coffee never came until we asked for it again when our food had arrived. The food was pretty good, and very well portioned. However, like the drinks the set up of our food in the plates was noticeable different from the same 'plates' at other tables. It didnt make a difference, just a strange observation."

"Had my bday brunch here. Specifically requested via email AND opentable to eat in the back garden and was told no problem. We get there and had been bumped because a larger group requested the same, and the larger group trumped ours. Would have been nice of them to let me know ahead of time....
So, we ate at a large table inside. All but 2 of us got the bottomless brunch. Our server (I think was the manager) did stop in the middle of taking orders to answer the phone, but she was at least VERY generous with the drink refills and extended our 2 hour time limit by a glass or two, so that won major points in my book. The food was tasty but not particularly memorable. All in all, good place for boozy brunch with a group for a celebration."

"Wow. What an extraordinary experience. Loved all of the seafood dishes (specialy the Salmon and Shrimps). I thought the foie gras was out of this world. Loved the cheese and meat board.
The service was out of this world. Our waitress was awesome and knowledgeable. Would go back!"

"Went there for Easter Sunday Brunch with our ten-month-old and both sets of grandparents. When we first entered it was very noisy and we couldn't get to our table with the stroller until the hostess helped us pick it up and carry it over other guests' heads... My dad literally said "I'm not sure how long I'll be able to stay here". We were then seated in the backyard (covered & with heaters), which we had to ourselves. It was very roomy and quiet, so you could carry a conversation easily. The service was very good: friendly, quick, very professional. The food was amazing! I had read that the food was good, but it was EXCELLENT. I tried a couple of dishes (we had ordered from the brunch menu) and each of them was outstanding."

"I was disappointed. They served my son the appetizer portion of the veal pasta as his main course. The food was pedestrian. I think my son likedIt, but I wouldn't go back."

"Came here for a birthday dinner and overall was very pleased with the experience. To be honest, the term 'gastropub' was what drew me to investigate Pitch & Fork further because I had never heard of the term. The appetizers were excellent, some of the best I've had, and I highly recommend trying the 'Devils on Horseback' which are goat cheese stuffed dates, wrapped with bacon. I ended up having the shepherds pie, and was not warned that the pie would be a bowl liquid magma, when served. It was very good just required cooling. We also received a brownie with ice cream for the birthday, with a candle which was appreciated. Overall very delicious and I would definitely go again."

"LOVED this restaurant. Great, inventive menu with great, balanced flavors. & the setting is awesome; they did this place right. looks like they have a great outdoor area too when it's a bit warmer. Have to say we thought the food was pretty amazing -- The gruyere crochettes were so good - texture and flavor. If you like a bit of spice, try the spicy roaster shrimp - pretty inventive with the spicy tomato, spinach and potato base with its sauce. Wish they had a few more red wines by the glass... some good beers on tap. Overall, great place. We will be back!! It's somewhere between very good and outstanding -- I'm leaning towards outstanding."

"Excellent food in a quaint place. Bar and wait staff were extremely accommodating, even without a reservation. Beet Salad is some of the best. The place was very busy on a Thursday night, which shows how popular it has become. Very warm place with a good feel to it. Definitely on the favorites list now."

"Very interesting menu wth some creative dishes, along with some more typical dishes. Service was really outstanding. Ambiance there is cozy but you have plenty of elbow room. Highly recommend if you're looking for casual place to grab a bite but don't want the typical Burger joint or something..."

"To begin with, the level of lighting was so low that it was impossible to read the menu. When we read the menu, we had a great deal of difficulty finding anything that we wanted to eat. We would just describe this menu as boring. We were informed that they were out of sparkling water even though we had ordered table water. There was a great deal of difficulty communicating with the waiter who did not seem to understand what we wanted. Our table conversation was interrupted numerous times by a variety of servers and bus boys who wanted to know how everything was. It was intrusive. There were several attempts to remove dishes from the table before everyone was finished eating. The dessert reminded everyone of toaster strudel. There were agai"

"While our server was gracious and accommodating to our increasing complaints throughout the evening, the kitchen and bar service was poor. The drinks were not good. They looked all cocktail culture trendy and came out like a nightclub pour. It was very disappointing. Our group of 8 switched to beer. I ordered the special duck breast which was outstanding! The burger was also very good. The chicken was overcooked, lacking the bacon mentioned on the menu and one order came out without the potatoes. Just... missing. When the bill came out there were two items added which we did not order. We liked the atmosphere, but this place needs a lot of work to pull off what it is aiming for."

"Did not have the opportunity to dine since it was over 30 minutes before our drinks were ready. Apparently there was a hold up at the bar and the kitchen had some problems as well. We noticed diners that came in after us received drinks and even their appetizers. . We decided to leave and as we walked out, the drinks and appitizers we ordered were finally ready. We contined to leave since after 35 minutes, we did not know what the state of our food would be in. The service was friendly, but seemed unorganized and confused. They would come out with dishes and not know which table to go to. We were disappointed since we'd spent New Years at the Pitch & Forks bar and had a great time."
