"My wife and I went here for our 14th anniversary and because we wanted to try a new place. We sat outside on the patio. We plan on visiting it again someday to see if some elements improve, namely the service was a little slower than we'd like.
We shared the deviled egg appetizer and the chop salad to start. Both were very good, but I sometimes have problems with pricing at these types of places. The deviled eggs were unique and delicious, but $11 for three half-eggs? She ordered the halibut main dish and I ordered the pork dish. Her fish was very good, my pork was excellent. I also have problems paying $5-6 for a beer I could buy in a 6-pack for $10 and $11 for a cocktail that was remarkably small. I'll never get used to this practice.

"Very close to home; we have been there twice and food quality was excellent. My husband had the hangar steak both times and loved it. I can vouch for the lobster pappardelle and the duck. Excellent carrot cake from Ramona's local bakery."

"My husband and I ate at Harold's last Friday night and had a wonderful experience. The waitstaff were extremely helpful and accommodating. We decided to order several items off the menu (an appetizer, second course, main entree, and dessert) and share them as a way to experience a variety of choices without over eating. All of the items we sampled were absolutely delicious.
This was the first time we've eaten at Harold's and it won't be the last. There are so many options on the menu that sound appealing. Although we do not have children, I was impressed by the number of items that appear under the kid's section of both the lunch and dinner menus."

"There's always a great selection of small plates in the bar (plus the full menu if desired); the cocktails are all from scratch (not a pre-made mix to be found); old-style booths...this place is our go to if we're headed out to a movie or live theatre.
Last night was the first time in the dining room; all the same great food and drinks, but in a totally different atmosphere - white tablecloths, open and airy room, attentive service. Overall a great place; we'll most certainly be back!"

"The food was good and initially our server was present. Then she forgot our drinks and our meal took quite some time. A comment was made about being busy, yet the restaurant was only half full."

"This was our second visit. Again we enjoyed the delicious food and its pretty presentation, as well as the nice, attentive staff, but the dining room is so off-putting that we decided we won't return. The room definitely needs a makeover for decor as well as layout. Another problem: each time we've dined here, the waitstaff enthusiastically offered bar ingredients that were no longer available - this despite the fact that the room was nearly empty and the night was young. Get it together, Harold."

"Best food we have had in Longmont. Pistou and borscht were outstanding. Flounder and risotto were great. Lobster papparadelle was OK. Suace was too bland for my taste. Basil flavored drink was outstanding. Wine list is adequate. Prices are reasonable."

"I really wanted to like Harold's, but it really fell short of my expectations. The service was really good--very attentive servers and the atmosphere is nice. The food didn't meet my expectations for what Harold's is trying to be - an upscale restaurant. I ordered the Borscht and I know it can be served hot or cold but this couldn't decide what temperature it wanted to be and it was lukewarm, although pretty and tasted nice. As a main dish I ordered the mushroom risotto and the consistency was good but the flavor was just kind of "meh" and not worth the $22 they charge. The worst part was the "truffled" french fries which were so salty they were practically inedible. We should have sent them back. Sadly, Harold's just isn't fine dining."

"We attended to support the Longmont Humane Society; this was our first time. We'd loved the quirky emails describing Harold's (although somebody needs to spellcheck). The place was quite empty during the 3 or so hours we were there; only two other couples visible. The food was good; we thought portion size was small for one of our two salads (I ate it in 6 bites). The glasses of wine were on the small side too; the thick glasses seemed out of sync with the caliber of the wine list. The menu seems more limited than I recall from emails when the restaurant first opened. Maybe just a Tuesday night issue? I will come back in the summer."

"The 3 course fixed price menu for Valentine's Day was a good selection of choices -- the first course for our two top was a duck ravioli and seared scallops. The ravioli wrapper was thick and, therefore, a little chewier than anticipated , but the duck filling was devine! The seared scallops were warm upon serving and the accompanied sauce had just a touch of heat/spice which was appreciated. The entrees of Dover sole and braised short ribs were both fantastic. The braised short rib was moist, very tender with a wonderful potato mash, veggie and mushroom side plated very nicely. The Dover sole was baked in parchment paper which maintained the moisture of the delicate seafood, stuffed with rice among other items. Dessert was good too!"

"Neither the waiter or manager knew how to properly open a wine or champagne bottle. The waiter spilled a glass of red wine on me. They overcharged me $75 and I'm probably going to have to dispute the charges with my bank, even after calling and being promises it would be taken care of. Very poor. I was very disappointed and will not be returning."
